Solid review! I agree completely, though its an 8.5-9 in my book. The game is a blast to play, unless you don't enjoy some quality laughs (sorry Knuckles, you don't chuckle).
Also, surprised the review doesn't mention The Man's servants who chase you around in most levels. They are a fairly large gameplay mechanic~

I live in NY state but that's still way too far. This was a terrible business idea. TERRIBLE.

I'm curious as to if data will pass between titles, I mean, they don't level up or anything. Only thing I see is this being physical DLC to play a game like NSMB, which would be pretty cool.

What I can see, mark my words, is a bunch of Free to Play games, or cheaply costing ones, which use the figurines. It would make sense based on their recent business models. And it would be nice to, say, buy a Goomba model once then access it in all games, rather than buying repeated DLC for him in every game.
Smart move, if they play it right,

It seems like they were too big for their britches. They thought we wanted to see them do something new, but its too early- people aren't done wanting 2D retro games from them yet. Which is bad, seeing as they seem ready to move on.

I'm glad they decided to put the shorter Kirby song on tv, but it's still very impressive.

Wow. This will be an extremely high powerful piece of software, as far as 3DS goes anyway. With all these features... I'm sadly predicting a close to $20 price tag. Which would suck, but seems all too likely to happen.
They have me sold regardless, and if they provide an online gallery to easily share and download other people's works... they'll make a ton of money for sure.

With DLC $45.
Without DLC $30.
Normal Game $40.

So they are saying, hey save $10 on a full game! Or buy just over normal price for a really full game!
Grow up people, its not like a $30 with this value is bad at all.

You know if every time their site offers a new reward is considered major news, they're doing something wrong. It should be a common occurence.

This is a long review! But 17th paragraph, " This area is where you set about unlocking six extea 9 hole Mario World Courses" should be extra.
This is a great review, really getting me pumped up for the game on May 2nd!
I honestly can't wait for this, and I feel the online will propel it to a 9/10.

My only suggestion for trainers would be to use Pokemon Showdown, as it lets you test things...before having to breed, in live battles. It is an invaluable tool that I'm sure you know about of course, I just want to link it in case anyone wants to try it.

Why do you all complain about DLC? I mean, come on, its either a $40 game with what they can fit in and then extra DLC for those who want more, or a $55 game you'd all complain is too expensive. You can't complain that Nintendo is approaching this in the best way possible.

Hope they stick to just the 3DS version. That eould have been way cheaper. While this game lokks good, Kickstarter works well with more niche things... and a FPS for 3DS only would have been supported more than this even was.

@TimLatshaw The tagline is kind of misleading now, might you want to edit in "on select platforms" or something to that effect since it is full price on Nintendo?
