Damn! One of the first times that I was genuinely torn between them... They are all great in their own way, but I went with the NA on this one because of the more action-y feel and overall cooler composition

@Joker13z no, the problem isn't so much that I don't have a capable hardware, it's more that with a newborn and work and adult life, there's not a lot of gaps to squeeze in some play time... Switch helps a lot with my current situation...

It might be a bit silly, but is there a good video on YouTube detailing the story of the first two? Would love to play this series, but the switch is my only option...

They are all awful... Japan wins this one, but not by much...

@link3710 yes absolutely. When I said censorship, I should have said content/creative control over the developer, much broader and accurate description of what people might be afraid

@nessisonett part of the profits, console exclusivity and whatnot is all well and expected. If I'd have to guess, what troubles people is more on the lines of censorship.

This sounds a lot like a card game I used to play on trips with high school friends. There's a couple of people who are assassins, there's a detective, a "master" and civilians. Every turn somebody is killed at night and it's everybody's job to work out who are the killers and decide on someone to be killed during the day.

Way I see it, I already waited so long for this game (and DQXI and Witcher 3) what's a couple more months until I finish FE? (And Luigi's Mansion. And Pokemon.)

I'm with everyone here... Great art but not a fan of this kind of janky puppet animation...

I still don't know if it was downright spoiled... The dragon lady says something along the lines of the protagonist being able to see both timelines at the same time...

I'm hoping for 2-3min tops... Maybe some cinematic and surprise reveal... I mean, it's Pokemon, what else is there to see?

@Venus_Adept Hey, the first Mortal Kombat had the right amounts of awful mixed to make a passable movie! Also it had Highlander shooting electric bolts and a KILLER soundtrack!

@SwitchVogel @Kai_ thanks to both of you! In the end, whenever we ask for advice is only to corroborate a pre-made decision, and you guys just got me that much more certain. Who knows, maybe when humble bundles start rolling out I might try this one too!

How does this compare to Transistor? Transistor looks to be a more polished version of this game... Anybody that played both care to weigh in?
I've never played either, and with my growing backlog, if I had to choose one, which would be?

@Cobalt it still does not explain the discrepancies... It sold almost four times as quick, with a install base not that much larger... I'm trying to find data to support my argument, but I doubt the attach rate for handhelds is more than double that of consoles
As others have said, it is more a statement on how the wiiu failed to grab the public's attention more than anything else

@Cobalt I think your question should be the other way around: How can the games be successful if they were already on WiiU, seeing that Japan is notorious for somewhat bad sales for ports [just take a look at launch data for a number of re-releases]

So, there was this crazy rumour that pegged a nindies direct for August, an online focused for September, a 3ds one for October and a huuuuge one for November. And this November one is ridiculously farfetched, with stuff like star fox, animal crossing, Pikmin and a bunch of other stuff...

@kirbygirl the thing with visual novels for me is that it's really hard to know if I'll enjoy it or not... I REALLY liked Oxenfree, but for some reason couldn't get into Night in the Woods (and lots of people tell me the latter is better)... Maybe it was the voice acting, I don't know (does the nonary series count as visual novels? I love those)

@NewAdvent I think you're onto something here. There's definitely a prominent theme of villains going on, especially on that little clip leading up to the reveal of K.Rool! It looked to good of art to just throw away after the presentation

Was planning on buying shining resonance, but with Ys and latter next week octopath, I'll have to wait for a sale down the line... Not nearly enough time to play the games I already got, I'm not about to get that backlog larger still...

Best part of the DS version was the prinny commentary. Can it be done with just the one screen? If so, count me in (again!)

@KcebEnyaw I agree! At first I was a little bummed about the whole no random battle deal, but after some thought, they really only serve the purpose of supplying EXP and EV points anyway... I guess doing away with them is not THAT bad.

Everybody arguing Labor X GoW is missing the point, which is the MASSIVE boost in XBX units sold!

Seems like the story is by the same guy that did Chrono Trigger, so at least they have that going for them.

EDIT: okay, upon further research on the guy, I'm positively interested in the game, prejudice against mobile f2p be damned! His track record is just too impressive, having worked on the Chrono series, FF7, FF11, Mana series (from the 4th), Baten Kaitos to name the ones that really stand out!

Anyway, okay numbers for Nintendo, especially considering it was up against a lot of releases for Sony.

And here I am, just curious as to how the usual suspects will spin this into a negative... I think it's sometimes brilliant how creative they can be! That's not to say we as customers shouldn't expect more from our products and that Nintendo is exempt from any criticism, but to consider the Switch as anything but a success is down right silly.
They might disagree with decisions made by Nintendo, but there's no denying that apparently everything's panning out

Does using old assets make it less of a game? Is majora's mask awful because of it?

@GrailUK yup! One of the most exciting reveals for me was undertale, one for the game itself and two because of the probable GameMaker support! Can't wait for all of them goodies to start pouring
