Re: Soapbox: Let's Give Nintendo Switch Online A Chance Before We Throw It To The Wolves

It's nice and all Nintendo is trying to give us a online service similar to the big boys but I'm no apologist. It's 2018. Certain things are standard by now. In 2006, we different standards for an online service on a console. 12 years later, messaging and universal voice chat among others, is STANDARD. Nintendo can't be held at a different standard because this is their first shot at this kind of service. It was supposed to launch last September but it got delayed a year, and honestly, I can't see why. Nothing really changed about the service in that year so I am baffled. Previous Nintendo systems had messaging (one tied to an app on 3DS and the other on a dead web browser for Wii U) and now we are taking a step back. Also, there really is no point the friends list on Switch. It serves a way to add people you know to play certain games online with but THAT'S it. Nothing else. In 2018. And the fact that Nintendo is hush hush about everything they are working on including this service, is a tad disheartening. Especially when the Xbox division at Microsoft in recent years has taken fan feedback so seriously. The system is frequently improving because Xbox communicates with the players and fans. Nintendo, has much to learn. But then again, they always have

Great to hear if you still enjoy gaming on the 3DS like myself. Love my Switch but my 3DS is more portable. Not to mention, it has a giant library especially if you count DS compatibility. No "kill the 3DS and focus on Switch" comments here. The Switch is already looking to have another great year from a first party point of view and third parties are jumping on the bandwagon by the day practically. It"ll be interesting to see what Nintendo has in store for the 3DS going forward

@Souldin I should have said this earlier, but I do prefer for the same reasons as you, Adventure. And I didn't mean to rag on Star Allies. I 100% the game over a weekend and I liked what was there but coming out of Robobot, I expected more from Star Allies, especially for the 4th Kirby game in this sub-series. But you can't please everyone. Everyone has their own favorites for their own reasons and that's okay

@StephenYap3 True but it's the pacing of the game and the level layout that makes Adventure/Nightmare so great for me. Plus the way they are played out, you don't really need more than one move per ability. I find the different abilities more focused and that played into the level design of the game. That's just me though

Re: Review: Kirby Star Allies (Switch)

What happened here? This game isn't pushing the Switch hard enough to drop to 30 fps and what Kirby game (let alone any platform) stops the games flow to load the next room for 5+ seconds? Nintendo really must have compressed this game to fit on whatever size cart it came on. I will buy this at some point but these are some BIG sticking points to many and will no doubt leave a sour taste in many a players mouth
