I think I might wait for the reviews to come in. I would have taken the risk if they were available separately for say £20 each.

I'm not expecting the switch versions graphics to be up there with the other consoles but for £50, the controls at least need to be perfect.

I have always thought the type of games Nintendo develop suit handheld more that tv.

If they move to console only, they will need to come up with something very original or if not match the power of the other consoles.

I never buy consoles until they have been out for a couple of years and there is lots of software on sale. If it looks to be failing, I am sure another company will fill the gap.

From what I have read, most of these zombie shooters seem to be designed for online multiplayer mode.

When playing games like Zombie Army Trilogy, the difficulty isn't adjusted for single players making it almost impossible.

I would love to know if this game or any other zombie shooters with horde mode have decent single player options.

From the videos I've seen, these ports look fine for my needs.

My issue is with the lack of content for the money and existing online reliability issues.

If I thought Nintendo were planning to release all 38 rumoured N64 games this year (3 a month), I would buy but I get the feeling they will hold many back until this time next year to entice people to renew.

Never buying cloud games after Control

For a full priced game I always wait for the reviews before making a decision.

If most reviewers give it 9s and 10s, I will buy straight away at full price but anything less, I'll wait for a sale.

@Lyricana Guessing how much they paid would be speculation but we can all agree that they paid and this would have put the price up.

@RCGamer Exactly. I hear a major reason the cost is so high is due to the money Nintendo paid Sega.

Those who really wanted these games would have already bought them.

I agree with the rankings although I haven't played Musha. Would have preferred games that weren't already avaliable on other collections that I already own.

Would have loved Micro Machines, Earthworm Jim, Eternal Champions, Combat Cars, Aladdin and Road Rash.

Even better, they could have spent the money on sega saturn / dreamcast games

@Varkster I guess we will all get different value out of it and as with Spotify and Netflix, subscribing rather than owning seems like the future.

For Animal Crossing players who also play online and are part of a family with multiple switches, it represents fantastic value.

For those who have only wanted one or two of the N64 games as they have recently played the others, it's asking a bit much.

Those who wanted genesis games have already bought the sega classics collection.

This pack is full of items that have been bought many times before. Only this time I only get to rent them.

Would have preferred to be charged $15 for each separate n64 game to buy and keep.

The UK price isn't as bad as I originally thought when the $ price was announced but still a bit high.

I have the genesis and 3d Allstars collections. With no interest in Animal crossing, the only games I wanted were Starfox and Mariokart. Not paying £35 to rent them for a year.

Will probably wait and see how often they add other games to the service. I would pay if they added games like Diddy Kong Racing, Snowboard Kids and some Megadrive Classics missing from the physical compilation.

In other words be grateful for what we give you and hand over your money

I realise that no one is going to be happy with everything on a service but for non animal crossing players who already bought the Mario collection and sega genesis collection, there is very little to justify spending $50.

Seems like loyal customers are penalised.

$50 is a lot for N64 games. I thought it would be a maximum of $40.

Hopefully they will add free DLC for other games or maybe do 2 game vouchers for $95 instead of $100 with this higher tier.

As it stands, with no interest in animal crossing and already owning Mario 3D All Stars and the Sega Genesis Classics collection I don't see any value in this.

Just pre ordered the white one. Didn't originally think it was worth it but once I have sold my old switch it shouldn't be too expensive.

Happy to pay the higher tier as long as they keep improving it.

Will probably get a 3 month pass at first as there are only 3 games in the initial lineup that I want to play.

If more quality N64 and maybe even Gamecube, Sega Saturn / Dreamcast games are added over the years, I will keep on renewing.

Ori and the Blind Forest. I gave up on it years ago after getting stuck.

From the comments it looks that if I can't complete Ori, I won't stand a chance with metroid so made a deal with myself.

If I can complete Ori, I will treat myself to Metroid.

Waiting to see how difficult others find it. Several other sites said it was frustratingly hard.

Will the oled get burn in only for nintendo to flatly deny the issue like with joycons.

How long will it take for satisfye and flipgrip to make grips for it. I can't go back to playing my switch without a comfortable grip.

The cost of the oled plus replacing grips and other accessories will be in ps5 territory. I would prefer to keep the switch I have and get a ps5 too.

I am a casual gamer and got through games like Will of the Wisps. But others like Ori Blind Forest and Hollow Knight were impossible for me.

The Satisfye and Fixture S1 grips won't work either.

I have a Flipgrip and Satisfye grip. With the £310 for new Oled model and money for 2 new grips, it would be a very expensive upgrade.

I am tempted as I do play handheld quite a bit but it's a lot of money for just a screen upgrade.

For a little bit more I could keep what I have and also get a ps5 digital.

I may wait until I get joycon drift again. I am on my second set already and it may be easier spending £310 on an upgrade when I would have been forced to spend £70 on joycons anyway.

Really wanted Kingdom Hearts on switch but after trying Control, there is no way I will ever buy a cloud game again.

Just pure laziness. Even with a powerful and fast Internet connection, people pay a premium swith games due to portability. If I want to be stuck to playing at home, I would pick up the PS3/4 versions from a bargain bin at £5

I was hoping for Crash, Waluigi or Hollow Knight.

Glad I never bought a full fighters pass as I only ended up being interested in 2 charachters from each.

The N64 announcement was the highlight for me.

I just hope we get Snowboard Kids and Diddy Kong Racing. They would be brilliant online.

As with most directs it was average for me.

I always hope for an immediate release or stealth drop of a game I have been hoping for together with lots of new games.

This one spent a lot of time going over games we already know about although I was happy to see the N64 stuff and the Kirby game.

Getting tempted but still may wait for the upcoming Nintendo Direct to see if anything better gets released.

I have enjoyed the past Warioware games but always get bored of them after a few hours.

£40 is a lot of money for a couple of hours gameplay so will probably wait for the backlog to go down a bit or maybe a sale.

As a single player, I have always enjoyed the Warioware games but never got more that 5 to 10 hours out of them.

Will probably wait a year until Nintendo do a 30 percent off sale.

Very true, but all the while people keep throwing money at Nintendo for making zero effort why will they ever bother.

Compared to PlayStation and Xbox, Nintendo Online is complete joke. The Gameboy Advance is technically level with SNES and it doesn't even look like we will get that.

Unless we see N64 games added or some sort of other worthwhile improvement, I won't be buying the online service out of general principle.

Isn't this the same company that said they would release Windjammers 2 in 2019.

They make great games but their release date estimates can be out by years.

I wonder if companies need to make new grips to accommodate the extra 0.1 inch length of the oled.

I have a Satisfye grip and Fixture S1 control adapter but doubt the Oled will squeeze in, especially on the Fixture S1.

It'll be on sale for 80 percent off within 6 months but will still be too expensive for what it is.

The Bomb Rush and Shovel Knight games looked OK but there was nothing there that was too exciting.

Was hoping for a short term release date for at least one of Turtles, House of the Dead or Hollow Knight.

Since I have owned my switch Minecraft is always top 5 in the charts on the eshop. Surprised that isn't in there.

Out of over 100 games I own, I only have 2 from this list.

@BloodNinja . While I won't completely abandon my switch and look forward to games like BOTW 2, many Switch owners won't be able to resist games like GTA5, RDR2 or Xbox gamepass stuff.

Nintendo will know that it will divert money away from their own pockets and they definitely will care.

I was going to buy the Switch Pro until we found out it was actually just the Switch oled but now the choice between a handheld with PS4 power or a PS5 digital for not much more than the cost of a Switch OLED, I know where my money is going.

And I will still have my old Switch, the only concession being a slightly inferior screen.

Neither company will admit it, but they are competitors in the same market and competition is great for the buyer.

All the time people keep paying for these lazy ports, EA won't bother giving us anything else.

This OLED version will no doubt get Nintendo lots of new customers which is all they want. Profits come from software sales, not hardware.

What this model won't do is prevent lots of long time switch owners from buying a PS5 or Xbox. If they had wanted loyal customers to continue spending all their gaming money with them, they needed to at least bridge the power gap slightly.

I currently own a switch and love it but for that price the choice is get a marginally bigger, more vibrant screen or keep what I have and also get a PS5 digital.

Absolutely no point in upgrading unless your current switch is broken or if you are very rich and already have the other consoles.

Does that 0.1 extra inch in length mean it won't fit current grips like the Satisfye or Fixture S1?

@CarlosM87 That's OK. It is a buyers choice. There are lots of Nintendo games that I have got 200 hours out of and was happy to pay £50 for.

It is Nintendo's right to charge what they want. For me a company will only get me to spend that sort of money if it is way above the competition for that particular genre. BOTW and Smash Bros for example.

It's just we have been spoilt with Metroidvania games recently and there are a lot of cheap and highly rated games I haven't played.

Unless this game beats Ori and Hollow Knight hands down, I would much prefer to give £20 to a small indie company and help them develop rather than give £50 to rich shareholders.

You make a good point about overheads, history and branding.

For me, I have no nostalgia in the Metroid series. I enjoyed the 3ds Samus Returns but since then I have enjoyed the Ori games and Hollow Knight much much more.

I guess I will wait for the reviews but history or not, it will have to be better than all the indie competition for me to pay £50.
