Re: Weirdness: The Mario Party Star Rush Box Art is Actually Recycled From the Mario SpagettiOs Can

@XCWarrior I can understand why online wouldn't be added. At least in the recent games, if there is a big difference between the players when reaching the final boss, then the round is lost for those who want to be 1st and they would rage quit, or quit when anything bad happens to them. Locally, this problem is much rarer, since you are all friends and can't really escape. And you can play a new match afterwards.

Re: Yo-kai Watch Sold Less Than Half a Million Units in North America

Parkour_LMan

Some people seem to forget (or never knew in the first place) that the first game didn't get too much attention in Japan, and only the second game(s) made the series really popular. The first game is more of a single player experience and you can't even transfer the Yo-Kai in other games. But Yo-Kai Watch 2 added online battles and trading, much more Yo-Kai and much more interaction. And Yo-Kai Watch 3 has the size of the ROM twice as big as 2's, so there should be a lot of content in that game (which also releases next month in Japan).

Re: Rumour: Sources Go to Battle Again Over Nintendo NX Power

Parkour_LMan

@andrew20 Xbox 360 is less powerful. PS3 is less powerful. If power was what mattered, then we would have gotten every game that was also on those two systems. And if third parties wanted to support it, some of their games wouldn't use the Xbone's and PS4's power at their limits, but would make it for Wii U and also work on a version on the other two. Power doesn't matter; money does.

Re: Bloodstained Will Launch the Base Campaign First, Followed by Staggered Content Releases

@shonenjump86 The platforms with the most advantage should be Wii U (map and off-TV) and PS Vita (portability). I would say that you should first see how well the game performs on these platforms and, if it works well (a.k.a. the port is not bad), get it on one of them. If it has massive slowdown, then get it on PS4, Xbox One or PC (choose the platform you prefer the controller of, or get it on PC if you have a good one, since there's support for both PS4 and XB1 controllers in games nowadays). Hope it helps!

Re: Super Smash Bros. Fans Petition the White House To Secure Visa Rights for eSports Competitors

@Spoony_Tech Chess is considered a sport by the government. So yes, it is a sport. Body is not everything. Training, physically or mentally, makes you better at something. Training your brain is basically the same thing. What you described are "athletes", not "sportive people". Competition is a sport when it's an activity where you become better by having effort and that can be picked up by everyone. Chess and playing are hobbies when you don't compete in events. Chess is considered universally a sport, so naming it a hobby is also objectively wrong.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Fans Petition the White House To Secure Visa Rights for eSports Competitors

Parkour_LMan

@Spoony_Tech You don't need to be an "athlete" to participate in a sportive event. Chess, pocker, Street Fighter and League of Legends are considered sports. ESports need training and (sometimes) teamwork, just like the 'classic' sports. This physical training excuse doesn't work because the sports I listed don't need it. Competitive Smash is just like a fighting game with more unique controls. To me, as long as it is an activity where there's a competitive scene and that requires training, it is a sport. Fighting games in general require a lot of training to move your fingers fast to do some combos without fail and mental training, so you can make your opponent do what you want. Fighting games are like electronic boxing. Boxing is a sport, and some electronic games are sports, so why can't competitive Smash be a sport?

I really like these experimental titles that have been coming out recently along with other games. They are very or at least a little familiar to the games in the main series, but at the same time very different. I started to love games such as Captain Toad Treasure Tracker and it seems that even more are coming in the near future: Star Fox Guard, these two Kirby minigames and, like it or not, Metroid Prime Blast Ball (it seems like a combination of Mario Strikers, Metroid Prime and Rocket League, all being games I loved, with its own flavour added). Also, Paper Mario Color Splash could be great if they make the battle system better (add XP, or at least make it so you get something good from the enemies and don't loose the same thing for battling them). I may get it for the gorgeous paper graphics if the music is also good, even if the gameplay is similar to Paper Mario Sticker Star.

Re: Video: Slippy Gets Scary in Our Star Fox Guard Trailer

Parkour_LMan

@Wolfgabe It's much easier to hack FNaF. There are already tons of copies and mods, so a mod dedicated to Guard isn't too far-fetched. But the Wii U modding scene is just at its very early stages. When emulation is in very early phases, don't expect big mods to come out soon. Soft mods (such as a few changes for some numbers, making a character have more strengths/weaknesses or just change its appearance) could come out one or two years later, but big mods that make the entire game look different will take some time. Just look at Sonic Lost World PC's mods. There have already been a few alternate Sonic models, but there are very few unpolished hacks of the first level, and those are made by already having existing assets. Guard is so different, it would probably require a lot of time to make the animations feel polished, the whole area to look like a human building instead of a farm in the middle of nowhere and by making a FNaF version for every single enemy robot.

Re: Video: Slippy Gets Scary in Our Star Fox Guard Trailer

Parkour_LMan

@DarthNocturnal It really is not. In Freddy's, you have to watch the cameras so you know when the 'animatrons' come to you. When they are near you, you need to close the doors, else they will jumpscare you and you loose. But the doors have limited energy, and when they are closed the energy gets lower (I know, it's the stilly classic video game logic). In Slippy's, you control the cameras and take out the enemies. You have to protect the core of your base by shooting them. Freddy's is a survival horror game where you stay still, but know what happens outside of your room thanks to some cameras, while the Slippy's is a Tower Defense where you control the defense system and need to shoot every enemy, and you know where the enemy stands thanks to some cameras, which can also shoot. Their core mechanics are very different, especially since Guard lets you move the cameras.

Re: Talking Point: My Nintendo's Pros, Cons and Areas for Improvement

Parkour_LMan

@Cosats Yup. I was pleasantly surprised by how many countries from Europe were supported. I mean, most of the Eastern countries are supported now. Sure, there are a few that aren't supported yet, but it still impressed me, considering most of the time they seem to only care about the Western part of Europe, and sometimes Russia and Greece.

Re: Guide: Getting Started With My Nintendo

Parkour_LMan

@DefHalan I remember Smash Wii U was on launch day 69.99€ in Germany (pretty much equals to $69.99). So it is possible, although I don't know any $70+ game. But remember that this system's rewards were also made for all the next consoles in mind, and they might release a games collection (like NSMBU and New Super Luigi U) or a GOTY edition that could cost over $70.

@Broosh Every single company abandoned some employees. Microsoft recently shut down two studios and Sony dropped entire divisions last year. So don't be so afraid to work for a company because they fired someone.

Re: Star Fox Guard

Parkour_LMan

@VGMusicFox Not really; the concept was shown before FNAF was a thing, or even announced, so this is more of a 'How to be a guard at a mall, but instead of going there and catching the thieves, you shoot them with the camera and it isn't a mall, but some kind of farm and the thieves are robots' type of game.
