Eager fans have been waiting on news for Pokémon Sun and Moon since it was revealed - with practically no details - earlier this year. These games are not only vital for the 3DS's fortunes this year, but also bring the hype that only new Pokémon titles can.
The wait for information is coming to an end, however. We already knew that CoroCoro Magazine will have a 'huge scoop' in mid-May, but Game Freak is going to get ahead with reveals of its own. Series director Junichi Masuda has promised information on 10th May at 9pm in Japan, which is 5am Pacific / 8am Eastern / 1pm UK / 2pm CET; tellingly he published a tweet in English as well as Japanese.
It's not clear how the information will be revealed, but a video (not necessarily live streamed) seems to be a decent bet.

They will be leaked before the actual announcement. I bet we´ll see the legendaries for both versions. Or Mega Solrock and Mega Lunatone.
I'm guessing the news will be a delay announcement. But that can only be positive news.
Don't forget Mega Cresselia and Mega Darkrai as these Pokémon are also based on the moon (Darkrai being the dark side of the moon?).

Here's hoping for an evolution for Sunflora and a Mega Evolution (Sunflora is much too weak to have a Mega without a standard third stage in its evolutionary cycle).
Mega Clefable would also make a lot of sense considering that the Clefairy family supposedly came from the moon.
Other lunar/space Pokémon such as Jirachi are also likely to have Mega Evolutions. Mega Deoxys probably won't happen as it may be overpowered. Mega Starmie and a potential pre-evolution of Staryu is also something that I'd like to see (unless Starmie warrants a regular evolution, stat-wise).

@Tsurii CoroCoro usually leak around the 12th day of the month. I don't think any scans will be available before the 10th, that's too early.

Seeing new Pokemon is always exciting, but it takes awhile for me to fully capture the nature of a Pokemon. My perception and understanding of the Pokemon gets more defined even months after the release of the game. Seeing them in-game, in animation, hearing their sound/voice, and in the card game all give personality and depth to a Pokemon.
Heck yeah I am excited! It's about time we got SOME taste of this game, as it's being released in winter. A video is long overdue so I'm expecting one, and I better see some super awesome legendarys. Give my boy bill(Octillery) a mega evo too!
I wish I could get excited, but the Pokemon Company keeps burning me with their decisions. Maybe I've just played too many of these games to care anymore.

Awesome, I'm really looking forward to seeing the reveal trailer for a third time.
May has often been the month we get solid Pokemon Information, it's more or less been that way since Heart Gold / Soul Silver, so I'm inclined to believe this will be legitimate news.
If not, then screw you Nintendo.

@Adamario They're most likely going to start rolling in the reveals throughout the next few months, specifically because they CAN'T show anything at E3. Nintendo makes the call on what gets shown at their conference/digital events. Considering they've specified that we're only getting Zelda, game reveals are probably a no-go.

@Octane CoroCoro has leaked as early as the 10th before, so it is possible that CoroCoro leaks beforehand, though not likely.
@BlatantlyHeroic Even then, Nintendo doesn't have control over when Pokemon is shown. That's up to The Pokemon Company, who may have wanted to do their own thing. It's quite possible that Sun/Moon wouldn't be at E3 anyways.

A proper trailer would be nice. Either way, I really hope Sun and Moon will incorporate full 3D this time around. Well, on New 3DS systems at the very least.
@Vegaphil Only a guess, but Nintendo is getting quite at delaying stuff.
At this point I'd rather just take a 10 second in-game clip like in the ORAS one than the "trailer" we got from the direct.

I love Pokemon, I'm much to old to like it.. but I do and always will! I started playing in the Red and Blue days on Game Boy and have played all of the games since, I can't wait for Pokemon Sun & Moon!
@GH05T Times have changed. You can't be too old to play games because they've become a worldwide entertainment phonmenon which eclipses even the movie industry in terms of financial gain. That certainly wouldn't be possible if it were only kids who played them... They don't have any money to begin with.
Besides, it's 2016. No one cares about the upper limit anymore. Just enjoy yourself.
