With stories that don't contain any media, this would be fine, but as you've pointed out, the accompanying video for this one is a rather important element. We did have a YouTube video embedded at the top from the cosplayer in question, but unfortunately it's since been made private.

I didn't mention this in the review, but it's worth noting that I spoke directly with Jason Cirillo at DE, and he said that additional Tetris games via DLC may be possible in the future.

I should point out that not all games are created equal. Other games from 1995 still look stunning to this very day, like Chrono Trigger and DKC2. Clock Tower, by comparison, hasn't aged quite so gracefully and has therefore earned its con.

The beginning of Reggie's 'Disrupting the Game' book discusses something similar. He and Iwata went back-and-forth on how to promote the Wii in America, with the latter expressing deep concern over Reggie's 'Wii Would Like to Play' campaign.

Ultimately, Reggie requested that Iwata trust his vision, and the campaign was a huge success. There are definitely some parallels between this and the eventual Switch trailer. Showing the console being played in various scenarios without boring the viewer with tech specs is clearly a strong approach.

Hey folks, quick update. You've no doubt noticed that the full track list is gone. We've taken it all out and stored it away safely, as including every track has caused us to hit our character limit on the article, and that's without Scarlet and Violet included.

@JohnnyMind You might enjoy the more action-focused gameplay from 4, 5, and 6 then. They certainly have elements of horror, but it takes a bit of a backseat compared to the original trilogy. 5 and 6 are better if you have someone with which to play co-op.

Sadly, given Ubisoft's situation right now, I can't foresee the company taking chances on these kind of projects at all going forward.

Games will need to be multi-million unit sellers within weeks of launch, or it just ain't worth bothering. Very sad.

@Elbow Really? You're blaming us? This wasn't sent to me in confidence, I found it, it's out there for the world to see. It already had tens of thousands of views before I reported on it.

The devs put it out there. They know the risk.

Couple of things...

First, I think a few folks need to brush up on the definition of 'clickbait'.

Second, not every article on Switch 2 is written with the intention of lending credibility to rumours. The article is clearly filled to the brim with scepticism and is very tongue-in-cheek. We're not for one moment suggestion that you should believe it. It's just a bit of fun on a Monday morning.

@Lofoten Our goal with review round ups is to grab a handful of articles that represent the full spectrum of opinions (or at least as close as possible).

We trust that our audience is smart enough to know that there are other reviews out there. However, it's important that we highlight dissenting opinions so that folks are able to make informed decisions.

@Warioware The Gold Master entries appears to be largely avoiding Atari IP specifically - Karateka, Llamasoft, and now Tetris Forever. I imagine they don't want any crossover with what they're building with Atari 50.

@Axecon That will be tricky, if not impossible. Digital figures aren't released at the same time as physical, so aligning the sales and working out the ratio will be tough at the best of times. And yes, as you say, Nintendo doesn't release digital figures. We only get a decent view of Nintendo's total sales during its financial updates.

Still, we'll keeping looking into it!

@Axecon Sure, but consider the number of Standard PS5 consoles sold in Japan vs. Digital Edition. Astro Bot will have certainly sold a decent number of copies via PSN, but 'significantly better' might be a stretch.

Astro Bot owes a debt to Nintendo, for sure, but the video here doesn't even show a quarter of the mechanics or ideas in the game.

At the end of the day, if it's fun and makes people smile, that's all that matters.

@Eduard_Brenton Ha, yeah it's quite nice that Nintendo, for all its faults, is proving to be a powerful force at a time of great unease in the industry. I hope things improve for the other major players soon.

There's a strong, growing community around emulation hardware. It's out there, trust me.

@Zuljaras A 10 is an exceptionally rare score, and the removal of Haunted Castle wouldn't necessarily bump it up. But hey, if you think it's a 10, then let nobody take that from you.

I've only spent a bit of time with the demo, but the game almost gives you too much autonomy for a visual novel. Sometimes I just want to chill and read a bit of back-and-forth between characters - Danganronpa does this really well, but Emio is constantly prompting you with options to 'Call/Engage', 'Ask/Listen', or 'Look/Examine'. There's almost an element of trial and error as to which option will actually move the story forward.
