Re: Of Course Pokémon Sword And Shield Is Getting Review-Bombed

NullPointerExcep

Oh man people are all emotional about it and somehow mildly positive professional reviews are biased?
Most Switch games aren't compared with BotW, DQ11s overworld also looks bad in comparison
How oninaki is better than Sword and shield in user scores? Is that logic and unbiased?
The game looks like a 7 to low 8s to me, seeing footage plus reading some reviews, so 10s are more accurate than zeroes in the end, not sure why people try to dismiss it as 'both sides are wrong or something, feels like they're sympathizing with the bombing

Re: Pokémon Fans Get 'Game Freak Lied' Trending As Sword And Shield Drama Intensifies Yet Again

Bad PR geez I guess Nintendo will need to give them a training or something
I guess balancing everything would be a nightmare and most people don't even complete the regional dex anyway
But that was a bad ideia, they would get caught eventually
...but the game still looks good to me actually
Fire Emblem looks bad in battles, specially the battalions around; DQ11S has aliasing and enemy pop in; BotW drops frames and resolution
Anyway, reviews are out in one hour, let's see

Re: Review: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition - An Incredible Action-RPG Stands Strong On Switch

NullPointerExcep

@rafaelribeiro99 I see what you mean but botw runs at a higher resolution and the art style suits way more the switch hardware, so actually it's not a good comparison
Also I read about how in BotW most enemies are bigger than you, so it's still clear to see them on portable mode, and that's probably not true on The Witcher, plus the lower res
Actually there are non-Nintendo-focused websites scoring this one even lower than 9
But it's interesting to see people being so passionate about it, I hope this game holds up to it

Re: Video: Resident Evil 5 And 6 Switch Demos Marred By Poor Performance

Played the RE6 demo, noticed that there was some lips desyncing in the beginning, could notice the framedrops during gameplay too, but it's... playable, the bare minimum
Man I didn't know why people bash RE6, but, there's so many QTEs and things exploding, it's over the top in a cartoony way, and there's so much interruptions to the gameplay
Buut really got interested in the Leon campaign (the demo goes to the Chris one after the intro)

Gonna add that it has cop chases! Just saw some 1vs1 race with cops to mess with you, also a 'hunted' event where it's just you against lots of cops
It's one of the best arcade racing games on the Switch, too bad people are scared off with the free to play stuff, though the offline quick race / challenge mode is fine (but only the online events give you cars I think)

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Games Of 2019 (So Far)

NullPointerExcep

Turns out I didn't pick any $60 game yet
Lots of solid exclusives though
This was a good year for indies too, I got Baba is You, Katana Zero, My Friend Pedro, Risk of Rain 2, Pikuniku. Also there was some solid re-releases of games I've never played before, got Cuphead, but will surely pick Obra Dinn and maybe A Hat In Time and Ori

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects - August 2019

NullPointerExcep

Risk of rain 2 for me, insta buy (it's in a rough shape but the core mechanics are just too awesome, also I picked up for $8 in Argentina, probably the $30 price tag will scare people off)
Still planning on picking up eventually Hotline Miami, Superhot and Invisigun (Invisigun deserves more attention btw)

Re: EA Looking To Bring More Of Its Successful Games To Switch

NullPointerExcep

EA do has games other than FIFA and The Sims
Personally I'm a fan of Mirrors' Edge and McGee's Alice
Also they own Criterion which is my favorite racing game developer (Burnout series + Hot Pursuit 2010)
Probably they've started the micro transaction craze after 2013 when the EA Sports' VP was appointed CEO
I for sure condemn shady business practices from nowadays' but also do dislike people trying to erase their history

Re: Review: Super One More Jump (Switch eShop)

NullPointerExcep

This is on sale for less than 1 dollar now
Tried the demo, the gameplay is set up in a way that you just care about timing and distance, but instead of being a generic auto runner you can do lots of awesome-looking stuff
Also, I loved letting the theme and characters as 'random', so every new level has a different look

Re: Japanese Charts: Super Mario Maker 2 Jumps Straight In At Number One

@DarthFoxMcCloud I still didn't buy It too but this video made me some more interested

Basically for him people don't need to make levels to enjoy it, people that like to play 2d Mario now will have lots of creative levels to play
But, if you want to make a level but think that It won't be good, just remember that all the Mario controls and physics are fun by itself, so even simple levels are still fun

Re: Cuphead Developer Dreams Of Making A New Zelda Game

NullPointerExcep

@MikaelForslind oh so sorry for bothering. I forgot for a moment that behind those company names there are actual people.
I didn't even see the tweet before it, just went straight into judgement.
Just checked your work, Alwa's Awakening looks interesting
What's up with Sweden and its concentration of good indie devs 🤔
Wish you guys good fortune

Re: Cuphead Developer Dreams Of Making A New Zelda Game

@Spustatu Hm a interview comment was fine in retrospect, but I actually got more bothered with the Elden Pixels part, tagging Nintendo on Twitter, for me that's kinda 'in your face'
Maybe it's better to pitch the idea like Brace Yourself Games did, not appeal to a public to back it up
