@Spartan48 If you think the Switch is bland, there aren't enough great games, and Nintendo is greedy, then I would hate to hear what you think about Microsoft's bland, anti-consumer Xbox One models, their severe lack of great games, and their constant need to push anti-consumer services that in the end will make you pay 3x+ more for a game and still not be able to own it without continuing to pay for access.
The Switch library is utterly fantastic, easily on par with the PS4s and the best Nintendo has had since the GameCube. The device itself is selling like hotcakes because it's anything but bland, and greedy? Haha, usually only someone who's bias or ill-informed will say that about Nintendo. If you bought a Switch and aren't enjoying it, gaming is probably not for you.
The Zelda titles, Mario 3D world, and most importantly, Pikmin 3. We need that game to not only grace the Switch but for an overwhelming amount of people to purchase it for two reasons; one to show Nintendo there is a market for it, and two to get Pikmin 4 (and possibly a proper remaster of 1 & 2 in 3's engine at least) out.
As for the Zelda titles, I'd rather have an anthology set. All 3D titles remastered in a brand new engine in one collector's edition set. Ocarina to Skyward, a man can dream.
I mean it's great that it was nominated, but without the invert Y axis option (you know, the correct way to play), it's simply broken. $60 purchase my family hasn't been able to play because it's physically unplayable.
A gamer has all the consoles, a child is most likely unable to obtain them all and an adult with only one isn't a gamer, but a hobbyist.
I have two of each current gen box and plan to next gen as well. With a full time job (12 hours a day), a family, obvious responsibilities, and a collection of chores and other hobbies, finding time for gaming is incredibly easy. Most people who say there isn't time waste it by letting the tv drone on as they scroll Facebook. You either want to game, or do it as a casual hobby. My family games, otherwise there is no tv on at all and we're out bonding over other things.
@Shadowmoon522 No, the ROM sites and modders/hackers give themselves a bad name, not just the guy selling it for profit. What everyone here is forgetting is that you own absolutely nothing but the disc/cartridge the game is loaded onto if you've purchased it physically, or nothing if digitally. The game itself isn't yours AT ALL. You merely own the plastic. You have no authority whatsoever to do anything with the game code aside from play it.
What you're all doing is defending theft of another's hard work, time, and money. Simple as that. Preservation is a great thing, but you're not allowed that privilege because it's not your property. 2020 and people still don't understand this, or is it the entitlement has grown too much and you demand it?
Theft is never okay, stop defending it. Absolutely repulsive...
@sixrings considering every single one of these services is highly anti-consumer, I'm not really sure what your argument here is. Regardless of the quality of the service, everyone lost the right to complain when gamers let us all down in 2002 with Xbox Live. That's the problem, not the quality of one anti-consumer service when compared to another. And Gamepass? If you support that on any level you should have your gaming privileges revoked. It's 2002 again, this time don't fail.
@Kalmaro Not really. I have 2 day 1 models, one of which is frequently used by kids, and have absolutely zero Joycon drift. Sure SOME people will naturally experience hardware defects but I guarantee if you were allowed even 10 hours of observation you'd find that most people with this issue are all self inflicted. It pays to take care of your stuff, but when you know the company will replace it for free many will simply not give a damn anymore and blame the company while exploiting a loophole. That's what most of this is.
I wish Nintendo would make an actual in-depth story campaign with this franchise. A Diablo-esque loot grind with co-op and all the trimmings, instead of a simple, barebones, competitive online shooter. I love the aesthetic, the characters, and the obvious Nintendo charm, but there's nothing worth more than 2-5 hours in either game to waste time with. Give us a solid 20-40 hour campaign and watch the sales double.
@RainbowGazelle it's nearly 2020, EVERYONE lost the right to complain about paying for online in 2002 when they all made Xbox Live a huge success. And don't tell me it's about the quality of the service, because everyone complained about that when it was free. You want it to be better? Invest in it and it will get better. Either way, complaining today about a paid online service is a waste of. You already lost.
As for the topic at hand, this is a great thing for those who do end up with a nice surprise. I've got several boxes full of Pokémon I've hatched while trying to build my perfect lv 1 starting team for my second playthrough. The first step was to eliminate the original starters... Their evolutions are pure garbage.
Seems utterly pointless. When you take to the actual gaming community you'll hear, "if it's in the game, it's a legitimate tactic" more than anything and while in some cases I highly disagree (Gears wallbouncing for instance... No skill and makes you look silly), removing a core feature from the game in this situation not only takes away from the unique nature, but shows this "pro" community isn't capable of adapting.
If over half voted to ban the feature, they simply should have just gone back to a previous title.
@sixrings anyone who buys a console for 3rd party games is doing it wrong. Gaming consoles are for exclusives and Xbox hasn't had one since 2015. There's no reason to get one and even the Series X won't have any.
We did get a sequel, and there's absolutely nothing confusing about the naming either. If you seriously can't figure it out I have to wonder how you made it through the Wii/Wii U and Xbox/Xbox360/Xbox One eras. Almost as bad as people calling the PlayStation 'PS1' or 'PSX', or incorrectly calling the cross button 'ecks'.
A fun enough game, but not very good with keeping your attention for long. I'd say try it out on Gamepass if you have access to it, but I don't support the use of anti-consumer services. This game is not worth $40, wait for a sale.
@LUIGITORNADO Almost sounds like the reviewer is shedding light on the numerous flaws with the game, doesn't it? Clearly not a bad thing to inform the general public of a potentially worthless purchase now is it? No, of course not. Now if this was a CoD or R* title it'd have gotten a 9/10 (generally speaking) and the flaws would have been casually tossed aside with an "it'll eventually be a good game" approach. This is refreshing to hear, if not disappointing, after years of jaded AAA reviews all handing out 8's or higher. If you're so sensitive to take offense at a reviewer, whose job it is to accurately depict a game's quality (without bias), then maybe that's your cue to stop reading reviews and start writing your own.
@TheAwesomeBowser I'm curious as to what you think that state is. It's already been noted that Sw/Sh started development on the 3DS, so any shortcomings are most likely attributed to that. Depending on how much work was already completed while factoring in their timeline as well as building Let's Go from the ground up for the Switch, they made an excellent game. I've already got 60 hours in and haven't yet touched the Battle Tower. Also keep in mind that it's already broken sales records of their last 4 titles (X/Y, S/M, US/UM, Let's Go) and show no signs of slowing down. Finally remember that exah game has always been bigger than the last, and if given the proper time I'm sure the next game will yet again be bigger and better.
The controversy surrounding these games before launch was nothing more than crybabies. GameFreak hasn't been at the top because they're clueless, they've consistently delivered. Not every game is going to resonate well with everybody, but some of the "fans" seem to believe that if one doesn't the franchise is over and GF is incompetent.
@TTgowings gamers don't want those garbage tier titles though. Also, there's no upgraded Switch and the cloud functionality looks to be Japan/Capcom-only.
The Switch "arrived" the day it launched and has continued to break hardware AND software records since, most recently with Black Friday and Pokémon. It's outselling the Xbox One, a more powerful console with those garbage tier games you mentioned, and is on track to perform as well as if not better than the PS4. To say it hasn't exceeded expectations already is to show your complete and utter ignorance within the gaming community.
I have a streaming stick that's probably 3-4 years old now. Absolutely no problems until the day and date Pokémon launched. Resetting the stick seems to do the trick for me, but YMMV.
Now is the time to announce an Ocarina of Time remake using the BotW engine for a summer release. I'd be hard pressed to believe BotW2 will launch next holiday, more closer to Spring 2021, and we need a big hitter like this to help fill in gaps. A Metroid Prime Trilogy remaster is necessary too, especially as Prime 4 nears. Pikmin trilogy remaster is a guarantee. While I agree bringing something new will make the game feel fresh, these are games the public wants to have available with a fresh coat of paint and possibly some QoL updates. They could easily put these out as placeholders between bigger titles.
They need to give us the option to play the game properly, as in the Invert Y axis. How in 2019 this isn't the default option baffles me, and even worse when the option isn't even included. Can't imagine there are many gamers that play incorrectly, nature isn't wrong. Nintendo needs to patch this as the game is virtually unplayable right now, at least with any accuracy.
I mean, you can call it a failure sales wise and not be wrong, but I had 10x the amount of games on it than the still lackluster Xbox One. It introduced new IPs and released some very strong sequels to older ones. All in all it was an amazing system with amazing games, and the Switch has only grown to be a great successor. Meanwhile Scarlett is looking to be as much a failure as the One...
There wasn't a problem to begin with. They took her in an earlier stage of her life, gave her actual emotions, dealing with consequences of her actions, and a return to her previous commanding officer. It was handled well, and anyone who goes back to their CO in such a situation (if left on good terms) will respectfully and instinctively behave accordingly. Most fools made an issue out of nothing, the game was fun.
@NEStalgia what exclusive game are we talking about? This article is about the multiplatform title Ori and the Blind Forest, which has never been exclusive to any one platform.
@carlos82 I doubt that too, but I'm sure they bought the multiplat elsewhere. Remember, no intelligent gamer thinks a multiplatform game is an exclusive. Only MS and their fans are that ignorant.
And yet another "issue" with no verifiable proof behind the claims. I get that a very small few will experience issues of some sort, but most of these people are simply unable to take care of their possessions. I grew up with people who always made claims of faulty hardware, who always owned the same hardware as me, and mine was always in perfect condition and worked. There's would be covered in some sticky substance, left controllers resting on joysticks, left games open to the elements instead of in cases, etc. Guaranteed if you look at 98% of these cases here you'll find slobs trying to mask their shame.
@Neofan99 because it's false news. Guaranteed that most of the people having an issue will be a direct result of poor handling. Only a small percentage will have an actual issue, as defects are known to exist. I have two launch model Switch consoles whose joycons work perfectly.
Microsoft has no plans to launch any more first party exclusives to other consoles because it factually hasn't launched any first party exclusives to other consoles at all, how is this so difficult to understand? Also, Ori 2 cannot launch exclusively on 2 different platforms.... That alone nullifies the definition of exclusive.
The media should be smarter than this. You know what? I can't wait to play the Switch Exclusive Ori & the Blind Forest. It's only on the Switch if we ignore facts to push our narrative.
To all of you complaining and crying some kind of prophetic nonsense.... Why? This literally means nothing, especially with the great library Switch has and the great number of titles releasing between this summer and next alone. Since getting NSO I haven't even touched the NES titles, and as excited as I am to play the SNES titles, realistically I don't ever see myself playing them. I've had the SNES classic since launch and might have put 5 hours into it. Same goes for any BC program. If you can't find a good reason to use a modern console WITHOUT BC, then maybe stop buying the modern consoles.
@Damo little late but never a bad time to correct misinformation! Was Cuphead available for other platforms? Then it was never factually exclusive. Adding 'console' in front of the term only shows you fell for MS' marketing ploy to detract from their severe lack of exclusives. They haven't had one since 2015 and won't anymore. Add in Phil's recent claim of 'no more Xbox exclusives going to Switch' and you have a blanket statement as NO exclusives have come to Switch yet.
@nintendolie you realize MS has to right? They've openly become the biggest 3rd party publisher in the industry, and it started in 2015.
Either way, exclusives are good for the industry and great for consumers. It takes about 30 seconds to realize why if you're not an entitled person. This is why it's great to be a gamer though, I own all consoles and never have to worry, unlike fanboys who beg and cry.
@glaemay No, the ones ruining this hobby are MS. Go back to 2002 and you can see everything bad today started with Xbox then. Has Sony been ignorant in the past? Of course, they all have, but only one has been consistently terrible every generation since its inception, and that's Xbox.
As for the review bombing, if it's really because of exclusivity, then we know it's definitely not from the Sony camp as they know just how important exclusives are. It's from the MS camp who have been brainwashed and exclusive-less since 2015, who believe everyone deserves all games on every platform because they don't have as many as the competition. If any of you support MS, let this year be the last. Let Scarlett fail miserably, let Gamepass go by the wayside, and let Google take MS' place. Sony and Nintendo fans go hand in hand together, if you think about it for 30 seconds you'll understand, so quit throwing sh*t at the other and band together.
Nothing but greedy lawyers baiting destructive people into placing the blame elsewhere just to line their pockets. Not a damn thing will come of this for the consumers, and their lesson of taking care of their possessions will still be lost on them. 9 out of 10 people claiming they have this "drift issue" have caused it themselves. Don't believe me? Go look at any piece of hardware in a used game shop, on eBay, or other various outlets. Most people have absolutely no clue how to take care of their things. Fact.
It'd be nice if that patch actually did what it was intended to. Both my Switch and my wife's have the update and yet online play AND local wireless play is greyed out. Yes we have NSO, yes our internet connection is working (otherwise I wouldn't be able to start my copy, gameshare).
Here's a fact, all of you having this "issue" are simply being too rough on the hardware. I can guarantee most of you have a history of faulty or defective items in your possession. Is technology faulty? Yes, nothing is perfect and I'm sure there are true cases out there, but this is nothing short of someone getting greedy. First off, a class action lawsuit is nothing but a ploy by lawyers who think they're getting a big payday, that's it. You're gullible if you agree to join in because it does absolutely NOTHING for you. Secondly, I have 2 launch day Switch consoles, one of which is played by a 10 and 4 yr old daily. Theirs is in perfect condition, as is mine. For this "issue" to be ramping up out of nowhere like this (and it is) after 2 years of being on the market, the most of you are full of it or just destructive. That's a fact. If this was a serious issue it would have been taken care of within the first 6 months.

Re: Class Action Lawsuit Officially Filed Against Nintendo For Switch Joy-Con "Drifting" Issues
Fact.
Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order Receives A Day One Patch
It'd be nice if that patch actually did what it was intended to. Both my Switch and my wife's have the update and yet online play AND local wireless play is greyed out. Yes we have NSO, yes our internet connection is working (otherwise I wouldn't be able to start my copy, gameshare).
Re: US Law Firm Opens "Switch Joy-Con Drift" Class Action Investigation
