Re: Square Enix Confirms Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Will Be A Digital-Only Release

Mr_Muscle

@telepathy2000 I wonder about the patching, too. All my modern games that required patching still run without the "day 1" patch and onward. So, as long as my hardware holds out I'll be able to play those things as long as I am able. If I remember right, Mega Man X Legacy Collection didn't require a patch, and there are a few others. I see others on here are resisting the "all digital" age. I'll definitely be skipping it, as the last console I planned on buying was the Switch. If they do an update with stronger hardware I'll get that if it has significant improvements, but with the push for more digital stuff the less inclined I am to support modern consoles. Eh, I have enough to play, anyway. Sorry for the mini rant! Enjoy your day!

Re: Poll: How Do You Pronounce These Nintendo-Related Words?

Mr_Muscle

@TheFox Same in California, where I grew up. People just said “Nintendo” to mean “whatever the latest machine is.” Same with Sega. Hell I didn’t even know there was a Sega Master System until at least a decade after its release because everyone just referenced the Genesis.

Re: Review: Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet Complete Edition - This Anime Adaptation Misses The Target

@Ralizah Watched varying anime for 20 years. It’s gotten so samey it’s very sad. Show me something you think is unique and I’ll pull something up that already did that. Im saying it’s not treading any new ground, and that someone with talent needs to push the medium forward. What’s so silly about wanting something to evolve past “skinny tough kid with giant sword,” or “quiet girl with bow and arrow,” etc etc...

Please don’t message me back. You’ve been fairly aggressive in the past to other users and I’m not entirely interested in engaging further. Thank you.

This is shovelware from the Apple Store. You play it for about 10 minutes, get the gist, then go back to playing something with some meat on it's bones. Surprised that this game got scored an 8, while it's at best, a 6 for the simple reason that it doesn't hold ones attention for long.

Re: Review: The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors - A Masterclass In SNES Revival

Mr_Muscle

@sdelfin I mean, it's cool that you say that, but the review calls this a MASTER CLASS in SNES revival. If that were the case, why not have the AI actually attack you from the start, like other beat 'em ups? I can actually die in the first stage of TMNT 4, or Final Fight. It doesn't look like I can actually die in the Ninja Saviours game until stage 3, where in the longplays I watched, things actually started getting in your way.

That's two wasted stages, and in my opinion does not show what a "master class," could be. Heck, even the review later on said that the game felt too short and too easy.

@YANDMAN I highly doubt the devs ONLY want the small amount of people who played the originals to get the new one. That doesn't make sense, from a business perspective. If you asked them, I'm sure they will tell you they want old and NEW players to like their franchise.

I know it's a touchy subject when someone doesn't like, "my favorite thing," but it really is okay to just let bygones be bygones and move right alone! No harm done.

Re: Soapbox: To Me, Mario Maker 2 Is Nintendo's Best, And Most Disappointing, Sequel Ever

Mr_Muscle

To the article, I don't understand how Mario Maker 2 can possibly be disappointing, when you compare it as a sequel. Mario Maker on Wii U and 3DS pales in comparison to what 2 can do. I still go back to my 3DS one, but after making 60 levels on Mario Maker 2 and....12 on my 3DS? Yeah, I think you can see where I'm coming from! This is such a great game and I think it's a tad disappointing that anyone would be disappointed in it.

I've been having a blast with it, and I don't even have the online sub! Though, I might get it just to nab a few fun levels from online.

Re: Soapbox: To Me, Mario Maker 2 Is Nintendo's Best, And Most Disappointing, Sequel Ever

Mr_Muscle

@HalBailman DUDE. I've been making levels that I found online. So many people post videos of their levels in action, and it's easy enough in most cases to figure out how they did things. All that to say, I don't have the Nintendo sub, but I can still use a few user created levels that I "made" by watching a video, pausing it every now and then and copying item placement and such. It's actually faster than making my own levels! LOL

Additional note: playing the story mode, while fun, only unlocks two items. I've made 60 of my own levels so far, and "stolen" a few online. It's totally worth your time to make levels before completing the story mode. Have fun, man!
