Re: Of Course Pokémon Sword And Shield Is Getting Review-Bombed

@Damo Early copies get released all the time, according to articles you guys post. I'm sure the same thing occurred, here. I'm also sure that some of the reviews are trolling. However, most of the negative reviews I've read are issuing some pretty solid complaints about the game, and series as a whole.

@Barbara001 If Game Freak were a charity, your comment would make (a little) sense. But, they are a multi-million dollar corporation. They WANT your money, why shouldn't they WORK for it? If the overall quality of the product is bad, why should people remain silent about it?

Game Freak needs to pick up the pace if they want those dollars. Right now they are just resting on their laurels, because people will mindlessly purchase the game with the Pokemon label.

Are you people even reading Metacritic? The negative reviews are extremely well written. Ethics in games journalism? NOT ON NINTENDO LIFE.

Game Freak keeps doing the same garbage, year in and year out. They aren't trying, because they know people will go DRRRR POKEMON and buy it while drooling. They literally have no incentive to do anything different, because the fans just mindlessly buy the next game no matter what GF makes.

OF COURSE a couple of "games journalists" reviewed a huge franchise favorably. That will never change. That doesn't mean that people who are upset with Game Freak suddenly have no say. Liberal bias in the media, truly. Go to hell, Nintendo Life.

@Damo The reviews I'm reading on Metacritic have some obvious ones that are trolling, but the majority of the negative reviews are well written and sound intelligently formed.

That being said, your website gets more disgusting each passing week.

You think that your review of Pokemon is set in stone, and that because it had a positive tone that nobody can speak badly about the game. The way you handled criticism of Astral Chain is also questionable.

This has me convinced that you are actively trying to push sales of video games instead of informing the public.

Just because one of your staff members praised Pokemon SS doesn't make that word law. Other people will review the game and give their take, as well.

Game Freak hasn't moved the series forward in what, 20 entries? But it's the first Switch entry, so we can only lick Nintendo's boots...

Re: Random: Now Pokémon Sword And Shield Haters Are Asking Trump To Halt Sales Of The Game

Mr_Muscle

@Kalmaro Exactly. NL is acting like “but we reviewed it and it’s fine so what’s the big deal??” Really makes them look stupid. And honestly, GF doesn’t listen to it’s fans, and now when the fans are trying to get their attention, people make fun of them. It could be a joke, it could be a serious petition. But what I do know is that GF needs to shake up Pokémon in a big way.

Re: Random: Now Pokémon Sword And Shield Haters Are Asking Trump To Halt Sales Of The Game

Mr_Muscle

The article headline sounds like it was written by a middle schooler, and makes you sound just as stupid as the petition.

On top of that, it’s not like Pokémon is top-notch anymore! They keep churning out the same game with different faces. Can we get SOMETHING a little different? Or are the fans so rabid that they aren’t able to handle any variation, so it locks GF into making the same garbage, year in and year out?

Either way, stupid headline, stupid story. Can you guys at NL try a little more professionalism, at least? Making fun of a group of people on your website says more about you than the people who are upset with Pokémon SS.

@RazumikhinPG Not gonna lie, Game Freak hasn’t pushed the game to the quality it deserves, yet. Obviously, writing to the President and Congress is pretty drastic (I don’t like where GF is going with this so I’m not buying it) but I think GF needs some kind of wake up call from the fans to actually make something of quality. Right now it’s just 20 games that all play exactly the same, just with different names and faces. It’s like they don’t even try, and are just using the same cookie cutter formula.

@Rayquaza2510 Ah, part of living in a country and being proud of it is learning to take the bad with the good. I’m honestly extremely happy where I live, and am very proud to live there. I’ve got a great career because of where I live and a very good life. Even though I’m around SOME negative people doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the world for the country I live in.

Re: Pokémon Fans Get '#GameFreakLied' Trending As Sword And Shield Drama Intensifies Yet Again

Mr_Muscle

@Ashunera84 If you can disprove the lie, go ahead. However, you are yet to fill anyone in on any credible source other than a link to an iffy article and "my friend is a dev so I must know what I'm talking about." Yeah sure, my friend is the President of Insomniac Games, but I still don't claim to know his job better than him, and I certainly don't use that as leverage in conversations with others.

Re: Review: Pokémon Sword And Shield - A Solid Start To Gen 8 On Switch, Despite The Hate

Mr_Muscle

@Yorumi I felt like the review was overly positive to attempt to balance the negativity this game has been getting. NL reviews really need some work. I walked away from the review feeling like he was trying to scold people, and I didn’t leave the review feeling like I learned a lot about the game. Honestly, I’m convinced that most of these guys are afraid to speak the truth about the games they review, lest Nintendo takes action against them like Bethesda did with Kotaku.

Re: Pokémon Fans Get '#GameFreakLied' Trending As Sword And Shield Drama Intensifies Yet Again

Mr_Muscle

@Ashunera84 Marketing materials will always lead people to believe that the devs are the good guys. Sorry but I’m leaning towards the laziness/rushed aspect. We all know they are gonna make another Pokémon game after this. Why didn’t they put in the extra year to make SS really stellar, a game to remember?

Oh, because all these drooling Pokémon fans don’t care about quality, otherwise they would stop buying the garbage that Game Freak churns out, year after year.

Re: Gallery: Sonic Movie Trailer Comparison Pics - Check Out Before And After Sonic's Redesign

Mr_Muscle

@Bolt_Strike Sure, I understand what conditioning is. I'm not debating that. I just think that the way you are portraying it (something being done to us by the movie industry) is a bit tin-foil-hat.

Nobody is forcing anyone to see any of these things, so there's always a choice involved by the person watching. If anyone is conditioning anything, it's the person who makes the choice to watch these things. It really makes sense, if you think about it on an individual basis.

Case-in-point: While I do like the improved portrayal of Sonic, I wouldn't be caught dead in that theater. Not my cup of tea. Doesn't matter how "conditioned," one may be to pretty graphics. You could say that I conditioned myself to abhor movies. Same same. In the end, this isn't China or something, where we are being conditioned to believe things by our government. We always have our freedom of will to choose what we like and what we do not like.
