Zelda II. It’s basically the game that got me into RPGs as well. I loved that you could visit towns and stuff, which I hadn’t seen in any previous game I played.
What are you even getting at? NL does this with every major release. They make an article with a summary of scores it received, even if they didn’t give it a very high score themselves.
XC fans know what we’re getting with this game. That’s why we’re excited for it.
I got my physical copy in yesterday. Already took down the Owl King but lost to the next boss I fought. I just don’t like how going into your inventory screen doesn’t pause the game. I’ve died once or twice because of this, and this isn’t even the first game that’s guilty of this. I’m just going to have to get used to pressing the minus button to pause.
A Short Hike also got a 10 here. I recall seeing others as well, but those are the first two that come to mind. For the people talking about length, it sounds about the same as other Metroid games. That’s fine with me - and 10 hours can feel like a lot more if the game is challenging. I’m playing CotM on Castlevania Advance Collection. My in game time is about 5 hours, and I beat HoD in 7 or so. But my Switch says I’ve played the collection for over 20 hours, and I know why. Lol
But really, not every game needs to be 50 hours. I’ll probably replay it enough that I surpass that time eventually, like with Link’s Awakening.
You can get 300 points weekly from playing Pocket Camp and Mario Run…But yeah, definitely wish there was an easier way. If you haven’t played FE Heroes at all, then doing the story missions is an easy way to get several thousand points.
Well, you’re entitled to your opinions. Most people like to see a series continue, even if there are some recurring elements. Basically, no matter what you say, I still want a new 2D Ninja Gaiden. 😎
Using that logic, Metroid should have stopped at Super Metroid, and 2D Mario at SMB3. I get that the NES NG trilogy is great. That’s why I want a new one!
I remember the Justin Bailey password well. It was how I beat the game on numerous occasions, before being a man and finally beating the game the normal way.
Ok, thanks. I was genuinely curious because I don’t recall the name of the studio that made HLD. (Not to mention a key developer on the game could have formed a new studio or something.)
Looks cool regardless. I’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
I’m keeping my preorder no matter what, but some of you guys make a good point that only Nintendo really seems to charge this much for 2D games these days. That’s partly because most of them are from indie studios, but Capcom only charged $30 for Mega Man11. So there’s that..

A 1 hour stream for a shmup is enough time to show the entire game lol.
Re: Round Up: The Metroid Dread Reviews Are In
I preordered from Walmart and got an 11 oz mug as well. Now I’m worried I’ll be up all night this Friday drinking coffee and playing Metroid.

Re: Feature: Our Most Treasured Zelda Memories
Funny reading Tom’s comment about reaching Goron City in BotW, because that’s how I did it the first time too, lol.
It’s hard to pick a favorite memory, but it was probably beating Zelda II as a kid. Or getting the Master Sword in ALTTP.
Re: Nintendo Switch OLED Pre-Orders Go Live In The US Today
The scalpers can have this one. I’ll stick with my AC:NH console.

Re: Review: Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny - A Series High Point, Just Not For Performance

If only we could get a new 2D Ninja Gaiden.
Re: Review: Mario Golf: Super Rush - A Solid Swing, But Par For The Course
Can’t say I’m surprised by the overreaction to the “low” score. It’s amazing what the internet has done to people’s mindsets.
7 or lower: TRASH
8: Passable
9: Hey, maybe I’ll check this out!
10: “Ooh, it’s flawless!” Or “Overrated TRASH!”

Re: Review: Legend of Mana - The Best Way To Play A 21-Year-Old RPG Experiment
