Clickbait again. There's no reason to intentionally leave out the "while they fix it" part from the headline, apart to play of peoples' sensationalism.
Decent game while it lasted, but woefully short. I spread it out over a few hours one weekend and had a distinctly "...that's it?" impression. I get that a lot of indie games go for quality over length, but there was just something about the overt repetition and simplicity of CQ that just didn't work for me.
I'd buy DLC to tone down the vaseline smear and depth-of-field. One rinky-dink vignetting toggle isn't what I'd expected when they promised "options to tone down the graphical effects" after the first demo.
@Dog Mmmm, no. It's not "selfish", it's my opinion that I'm tired of hearing about it. It's a silly fighting game that people go WAY overboard heaping praise on, and the Internet could use less of it.
@gcunit It's not a "bizarre choice" at all. The visual style and audio are both very anime-centric: the music would sound right at home in any number of anime episodes, so I'd say it fits right in with the aesthetic.
Any chance you can report on the ability to disable/minimize the "unique" graphical effects? (Depth-of-field, vaseline smearing, vignetting, etc.) The devs indicated there'd be some level of control over that but I haven't seen any mentions of it since that vague promise.
I don't mind pixel graphics, but the random hodge-podge of high-res mixed with low-res mixed with pixelated mixed with sharp and clear is an absolute deal-breaker. Make up your mind about what you want to be, game.
In terms of content... Is this a linear game in that once you beat it, that's it? Or is there anything like randomized missions that you can keep playing infinitely?
I'm curious how "sometime in the future" equates to "on the horizon"... I interpret the former as eventually but not necessarily any time soon, whereas the latter implies it's closer to release. Feels clickbait-y to me.
"Some who consider British English the only true English regard fall as an American barbarism, but this attitude is not well founded. Fall is in fact an old term for the season, originating in English in the 16th century or earlier. It was originally short for fall of the year or fall of the leaf, but it commonly took the one-word form by the 17th century, long before the development of American English. So while the term is now widely used in the U.S., it is not exclusively American, nor is it American in origin."
Having never played (or heard of this) before, I have to assume--based on the preview video above--that Delilah is actually a maniacal robot overlord whose sole purpose is tricking you into doing menial forest-based tasks while denying the existence of celebratory desserts. Right?
@ZAK6 - Well of course you're going think this is "pointless", you admitted yourself you like the traditional joycon layout. This is (obviously?) for people who want an integrated dpad.
For everyone else saying things like "I don't need this, I never play handheld, what's the point?"-- Duh, you're obviously not the target audience. It's like saying "I don't get the point of automatic transmission, I only drive stick" because you're ignoring or dismissing the portion of population that DOES. C'mon, don't be so shortsighted and narrow-minded, people...
I love FFT, FFTA2, and Disgaea, but I'm not so excited about this. From what I remember of it on the 3DS (MSC2, I think?) it seemed very bare-bones and not at all polished.
I had info on the 3DS version bookmarked for a couple years and was very interested, but wondered whatever happened to a potential U.S. version. The jump to Switch makes sense; now hoping we'll still get it here...
Fun while it lasted, but (even as a cat lover ) it's utterly repetitive and ultimately very shallow once you have the "stun with magic then whack away" approach down to a rhythem. Based on my personal experience, I disagree that it's worth the price: I bought it the Friday it came out, played a couple hours each night, and was done by Sunday evening with no desire to 100% it. It just doesn't have enough meat to be worthwhile.
"...feel like they get into a groove after a while - steal certain documents, take out or capture this enemy and so on. Thankfully, there are variations..."
Should that be "get into a rut" instead? 'Groove' would be a good thing (hit your groove, grooving, groovy, etc.)and it doesn't sound like that's what was intended.
@River3636 Are you part of the NL staff? If yes, your behavior is abhorrent. If you're not, why do you care if I question a review or not? Seems like you're getting bent out of shape for no reason.
@River3636 I assume you mean "you're", but... huh? I don't follow whatever you're trying to say.
Check out the video here, and the lag/pause before and after battles is painfully apparent, absolutely moreso than other RPGs: https://youtu.be/fqq9ZVbAh1s?t=25s
A few hands-on videos I saw earelier in the week displayed load times of about five seconds before AND after battles, during which the audio was totally silent, plus equally long loads when transitioning to the world map. If true in the retail release, surely that deserves a mention/caution somewhere?
Can someone elaborate on why people have assumed this means a buddy system? Was there more than just the movement models? Unless there's more data that points to buddies, it seems that it could just be leftovers from the camera minigame, for example.

@Nincompoop So, two minutes after you beat it?

Re: Masahiro Sakurai Notes That Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Could Be The Last In The Series
That's fine. SSB is a supremely overrated series anyway; it'll be nice to not hear people drooling over how it's the best thing in the world.

@Heavyarms55 The first frame of the video says "From the creators of Disgaea"...

Yuck, there's a time limit to each stage (bottom of the screen)?
Re: Hardware Review: SwitchCharge Boosts Your Nintendo Switch Battery Life Fourfold
Nevermind the bricking potential... $120 or even $85 is WAY too much for a battery.

@XenoShaun Just curious... Why does it being "late" correlate to the price being correct or not? Isn't it still the same game in the end?

I'm glad to see them patching and look forward to hearing how it improves the experience. Good for them.
Re: Review: Mercenaries Saga Chronicles (Switch eShop)

That's not "completing a game" at all, that's manipulating it to cheat. C'mon, NintendoLife, you're better than this.
