Japanese studio One Or Eight is bringing its 2D action game Earth's Dawn (known in Japan as Earth Wars) to the Nintendo Switch, it has been announced.
The game is already available on PS4, Xbox One and Steam and uses a similar visual style to titles like Muramasa and Odin Sphere. The Switch version is coming alongside ports to iOS and Android.
Our friends over at Push Square reviewed the PS4 version back in 2016, giving it 6/10 and saying:
The foundations of a fast-paced and well worked action RPG are alive and well in this post-apocalyptic wasteland, but Earth's Dawn is let down by repetition and difficulty spikes. If you can stomach the negatives and keep chipping away at the release's robust progression systems, you'll find an impressive amount of depth and enjoyment to be had in forging your super solider – but you'll never quite shake the feeling that this could and should have been a better game than it is.

It has a cool visual style. That "music" though...
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Sums up what I was thinking.
The movement reminds me a bit too much of those ragdoll stickman fighting games... Guess I'll pass.
Cheap animations, depressing setting, irritating music.
Seems interesting
I have it on ps4. Great setting and atmosphere but very repetitive. A good example of “all flash no substance “.
Looks good, sounds dreadful.
No thank you. No interest.
Despite the Luke warm Push Square review, I’ll be picking this up for the Vanillaware vibes if nothing else!
Can we get Princess Crown translated in english and ported on the Switch instead of low effort computer animation and bad music?
Anybody feel like the camera is zoomed about twice too far for this sort of game? I don't mind zooming in for the slow mo kill, I think SSB does that at the end of a match, but the whole game seems too zoomed in to me.
Ugh. Disgusting. PASS
Awful soundtrack. General dull appearance. A solid no for me.
Kind of a joke to compare this to Muramasa or Odin Sphere. I like the idea of a sci-fi action game in this style but those stiff, robotic animations just turn me all the way off.
Creepy weirdly-proportioned characters...
great. Glad I didn't pick it up yet on PS4
So we're doing flash game now?
@Blizzia it does remind me of Xiao Xiao!
I too, shall pass on this game.
I can't stand the look of that girl's head. It just looks too big and off.
Played on PC, deleted in 15 mins. I dun say iy sucked, but it was boring for sure. Dun buy.
Not feeling the animation at all and likening this crap to Vanillaware’s work, is an insult. Odin Sphere this is not.
It's as if someone programmed a game using Scribblenauts. It looks great though. Looks, not sounds.
Not sold on the overall aesthetic of the game, plus the gameplay seems a bit shallow. Passerinos
Looks kinda janky to me, like the animations are unfinished. And if that trailer is represantive of the music in the game then I'm very afraid.
Not really interested in other words, but I will look at the reviews whenever this does come.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Yeah, I couldn't handle having to listen to a Klaxon on a repeating loop...
Coming to PAL regions tomorrow according to Nintendo of Europe's website, under the title Earth Wars.
