Re: Guide: How To Beat Everyone At Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo 3DS

Step 1: Spam Pikachu's thunderbolt.
I guess they needed more practice, since one of my friends fell off of the stage when I did that. Apparently, he didn't like shielding because he thinks its being cowardly. Well, I guess that's why you gotta live life on the ledge, then!
...I'll stop now.

Re: Preview: Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Goes Big on the Portable

Mikes

Great read! I'm really anxious to see how the game looks on-screen. I haven't seen any gameplay of the game in-person, so I have no idea how it looks like. I recall Mr. Sakurai saying something along the lines of "Web posts of the 3DS version doesn't do it justice", so I'm a bit curious.
I'm still concerned about how it feels. I've always played in a considerably rough-ish manner with Super Smash Bros., so I'm still trying to remember to be as gentle as possible. ^^'

Re: Demo for Super Smash Bros. 3DS Announced for North America and Europe

Mikes

Wow! This is the most amount of comments I've ever seen on this site! I thought the last Club Nintendo demo thing wouldn't be surpassed.
I met the requirements, but I didn't get one. It's a bummer, since whenever they do this kinda thing, I never get lucky! Oh well. Time to pretend the demo doesn't exist for another week.

Re: Nintendo Goes Download-Only With The 2014 Club Nintendo Elite Rewards

Mikes

...Oh. So those are the rewards. Well, I already have some of those games, seeing as how they helped me reach platinum status in the first place. The rest of them are ones I don't care for or would have gotten already if I wanted 'em. I'll just get one of those large retail games and give it to a friend or something. I wish they had offered something unique instead. Ya'know, something the average consumer can't get.
You know, after about a year's worth of detailed surveys and registrations. Oh well. I wonder what the rewards will be next year.
And wow, look at all of the comments! o_O

"...he’s one of my best friends..."
I must have been living under a rock or something. I never knew.
It's nice to see their thoughts on the game, and I'm glad they're not as ridiculously dismissive as some that I've seen as of late.
In So Cal.? Sweet! I'll probably force myself to stop being lazy and go to one if it's not too far. I don't usually go to tournaments, so that needs to change.

Re: New Japanese Law Bans Child Abuse Images, Yet Anime and Games Still Allowed Suggestive Depictions

Mikes

The inclusion of these rules in anime, comics, and video games probably isn't necessary. Using Senran Kagura Burst, for example, it's set in a fictional world. A game such as that shouldn't encourage child abuse. There's a fine line that separates fiction from reality. It'd be best to take a moment and see that line, for people that do act on this sort of thing.
As far as its content goes with the whole nudity thing, I wouldn't say it's any form of child abuse. Ninja females with supernatural strengths =/= female children. The ideas of all of these scantily-dressed females and whatnot transition to a topic that can relate. As tasteless as I see way too many over-sexualized characters, there's no reason to limit one's creativity with such a law.
Now, actual child abuse images, of course, were rightfully removed.

Re: Ninterview: Taylor Davis Shares Her Musical Journey and Love for Gaming

Mikes

Great interview! I really hope she gets even further with her awesome musical talents. I, in a way, can relate. Video game music is actually what got me into playing the piano in the 7th grade, and from there, I learned as much as I could by just using internet videos and midis. I really hope to make a career out of something I love as well, and music is just one of them! I'm definitely not an amazing musician myself, but I know I'll get there with enough knowledge and practice.
"Once I was able to start ignoring the negativity, I became a lot more independent and introspective because I stopped caring about what other people thought of me and focused on how I felt about myself. It helped me find real value in the people and activities that made me happy in life and to stop caring about the people who made fun of who I was and what I liked to do, and that was an incredibly empowering feeling...please just focus on what you love about yourself and what makes you happy in life and just forget about the people who try and bring you down."
I love this paragraph! Bullying is part of what made me who I am. I'm thankful that I've gone through it so often, because I now know what's best to think of myself. It's why I'm always so serious about that kind of stuff and why I don't let it step a foot in the presence of those I care for.
All in all, this is probably my favorite Ninterview. Splendid choice! ^^
