Looks like a lot of people are confused. The following is CAD
New 3DS XL : $230 Switch : $330 Consoles at launch : $450~$600
I think it is very fair given what the Switch is. But I want to see the software first. The Wii and Wii U weren't that great. Console-bounds stuff, delays in menus (even settings), limited/bad online support, etc.
Judging by the video, Mario's password is probably 3 tap on the keyboard that makes something like that: bpf738v0b-bf-87b3v478bîuvb378baw0b;`bà4p897ag4pbva4òia4v89bavìoba4wv^89ahbvw4`buioab4we9^8gwaòbag789gba789ag4ubag4^9bag4
Nintendo is now a Nibelsnarfing joke. I hope the best for the NX, but if they fail to be up to date again, I highly doubt they will survive to see the next gen console.
I saw the argument that people will leave the consoles in favor of the mobile game. I think this is false. This is only Mario. Yes he's the biggest name in Nintendo, but hey, you have way more offering on the console. Plus this is a runner game. Name me a runner that made you buy a console? None? Then why would it remove NX (or any console) sales?
I'm not going to start a "Why iOS first" debate here. But sincerely, I can't wait to see this on Android.
Regardless of the OS, the game looks great. Nothing new but Mario's take on the runner genre keeps the series' look and feel. I'm already calling it a success unless a MAJOR surprise in the final product, like lives, energy or something like that.
Show it at E3. Announce the release date. Get great games to launch with the console. Launch it after a huge advertising campaign. Be ready for the holidays.
I love the idea simply because it is quite useful when not abused. But sadly I equally hate the idea because I know there will be abuse. Hear me out.
Instead of finding more of the same pokemon to get candy, people will have the choice to just find one and the run circles around their block until they get enough to evolve it. Then they just need to catch a ton of Rattata to grind dust and power up them.
Now if they do trading and enable pokemon trading, we'll have another D3 AH. Where you'll not want to find "more and more" but just "that one piece that will help get the one I really wanted"
Chrono Trigger Contra III: The Alien Wars / Super Probotector: Alien Rebels Donkey Kong Country Trilogy Kirby Super Star Mega Man X Star Fox Super Mario All-Stars Super Mario Kart Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Super Mario World Super Metroid Super Punch-Out!! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Clay Fighter Super Strike Eagle Uniracer Earthworm Jim Sim City
I don't get people who say that "you need permission". At best, it brings more business to local places, more money, more taxes. At worse, it brings more people on the streets which only walk.
@GrailUK I'm not saying they should know everything, but they should at least research a little bit. Just googling Niantic would have brought up Ingress easily.
I am not against ignorance. I am against going the easy way and choosing to ignore.
@VanillaLake No cross buy is the reason why I stopped buying anything on the eShop since NX was announced (and further more since we have rumour of 3DS replacement).
I placed my hopes in My Nintendo to fix that but I'm not seeing anything good so far from it. They even managed to kill the reward system.
@Neko_Ichigofan I agree with you, and yet I still won't buy any. At least not for now. I loved all games I bought but I just don't feel they are worth their price at this time. That's me though. Personal preferences
So here is the deal. When they launched Twilight Princess, I skipped it since I didn't want a Wii U right now but didn't want the GC version. That being said, I don't think the game itself suffered from it (having played it since then).
I am very anxious to see the NX, but not showing it at E3 is the most stupid decision ever. This means the NX will NEVER be at E3 before being launched. Even if the console is good, they will loose a lot of customers.
Also, personally, I will wait for the NX. I love my Wii U games but always said the console is really smelly. Long loading times (even for settings menu), lack of CURRENT tech/software (damn it Nintendo, I don't want to manually change the timezone on my console, I have 20$ clocks that can handle that).
TLDR, and conslusion: I hope the NX is as good as we hope. But not showing at E3 is a bad decision. Will Zelda suffer from it? I think not. But I expect a lot of people to do like me and skip anything on the Wii U until March 2017.
Short short version: Nintendo, get your head out of your arshes and wake up. NX was looking to a great start, but I feel more and more that it will fail due to a lack of brains in your ranks.
As much as I want NX news, I understand they won't have any. I have high expectations for the NX. I think Nintendo is placing themselves well for their next gen, and it begins by the revamped MyNintendo.
I honestly say I went from "FU I just got my Wii U" to "Hype is real, I want an NX". Of course this is based on speculations for now.
@XCWarrior I always preferred digital over anything. But my main problem is the ridiculous console memory. If I start doing that, I'll have to buy a dedicated external drive. At least for the Wii U.
@KTT Gotta agree the EU situation is far worse. I wonder why it's like that. I'm sure there are legal reason behind it ... but still ... Nintendo, work on those with the authorities! And if it's not reasons like that, then shame on you Nintendo.
@shad0w-7 I do feel both are upgrades to their counterpart. But if you are not into gaming a lot, you can't know that. If they want to sell something they've got to advertise it and make the name clear that it's an upgrade.
Also, for the Wii U, it is an upgrade but we still don't have achievements (which is a must for today's industry) and we have an OS that makes us wait 40 seconds to get to the settings menu and that doesn't manage automatic daylight saving switch. Ok yeah it's minor, but can we have something that is not looking like it's been crafted straight outta 1997.
Nintendo can thank their franchises because it's the only thing keeping them alive. For anything else, I get the PC version over anything.
Well let's call it like it is. Nintendo sucks at promoting their products. For the rare time they do, it attracts the wrong people to the wrong games.
I haven't seen any advertising for the new 3DS (Canada here). I got one only because of a few games. I am happy with it, but wouldn't have bought it if my previous handheld wouldn't have been stolen. Same goes for my Wii U (stolen Wii).
Also, stupid decisions such as having to remove a screw to get to the sd card.

In the meantime, English (Canada) is set to 12h format and F on the Switch haha.
Re: Rumour: Pokémon GO December Update Might Be A Gen 2 Monster Mash
About the tracking, I'm in Quebec so I don't have the revamp. Right now, if I tap one, it says "Find this pokemon in the wild".
Is it me or it's rather useless?
Re: Soapbox: Nintendo, the NES Mini and Ongoing Stock Problems
Wanted one at launch. Decided to wait. And since I saw this mayhem, I just decided to let it go and bought a few PC games instead last Friday.
You lost sales here Nintendo.

Re: Poll: The Wii U is Four Years Old, But What Is Its Legacy?
Worst part was Nintendo trying to understand what Internet is.
Re: Super Mario Run Jumps Onto iOS on 15th December, Priced $9.99 for Full Unlock
@G-Boy Do they even understand how console gamers market works?
The Switch is their last chance with me. Better be good.

@DragonEleven So basically, a bad decision from Nintendo to push Niantic hehe.
Re: New Pokémon GO Update Appears To Disable Spawns And Sightings When Travelling At High Speed
Is it Nintendo that has an aura of bad decisions these days? Niantic was "okay" with ingress, but this is ridiculous.

Re: Poll: Six Months On - How Do You Feel About My Nintendo?
Sadly, MyNintendo proved me once again that Nintendo is stuck in the past and doesn't quite understand how today's world works.

Megaman X series
Super Mario World
Turtles in Time
etc.

I'm not buying anything else. It would be just a waste of money since NX is kinda announced and rumors are going out of a new handheld.
If only digital purchase would carry over.
