It goes without saying that Pokémon GO has been an incredible success since its release. Last we heard it had reached $500 million in customer spend with over 500 million downloads.
Not content to rest on its laurels, The Pokémon Company recently reported that Pokémon GO is now available in 31 new countries, as follows:
Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Chad, Gabon, Sao Tome and Principe, Egypt, Morocco, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, Niger, Sierra Leone, Togo.
Are you a Nintendo Life reader in one of the countries above? Let us know if you'll be joining the hunt for Pokémon with a comment below.

Maybe they could introduce 'Pokemon Go- Great White Hunter Safari' in Kenya. Stop all those people shooting endangered animals for kicks.
Pokemon GO is going to Africa ?!
I'm surprised Pokemon did not chart with Interbrand this year.
I can see the headlines now: "Pokemon Go player survives lion mauling, hunted a meowth."
@HappyMaskedGuy Please be aware that we don't want partially censored profanity to be used on the site. Thanks.
@gcunit Coolio. But I stand by my original description of them.
It's odd how so many companies say China is one of the biggest and most important market for their products yet Nintendo never really released anything there (At least give them the NES and SNES!). I know Japan and China are never on good terms but at least Toyota, Sony and Honda released their products there and made a serious attempt to get into that market. Same with Pokemon Go, still no sign of it there, an important market indeed. If anything, at least give them Pokemon Gen 1 and 2!
@WilliamCalley Can I suggest that's quite an inflammatory and distasteful proposal, whether made in jest or not, and that you should edit/delete it?
Edit: Scratch that, I'm not going to wait for a row to blow up about it. I've deleted it. It was an inappropriate comment to make on a site like this.
Generation II please!!!
@Don Console games as a whole were banned in China for 15 years, with the ban only being lifted last year, but it is still heavily restricted... which is why it's a fairly low priority country when it comes to game releases.
They also blocked all Google related websites in mainland China last year as a part of internet censorship... which would obviously cause problems for Pokemon GO, seeing as it's built on Google systems.
@Don They did atleast release the N64 and DS in China, if I remember correctly. That was a while back though.
@samumarisuro They must of also released the 3DS in China, seeing as they are getting Sun & Moon in Chinese.
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy Of course, that makes sense.
I think they're not sold as Nintendo products though. They're called iQue something, I think.
@Don don't forget that China is the source of ALL of the world's clone consoles, NES, SNES, Genesis, all the Gameboys, I've seen items that look suspiciously like clone DSes... They don't need Nintendo's help, not in that.
Glad those other countries get to enjoy the game, but I'm pretty done with it other here. Since they don't seem to be changing the battle formula anytime soon, I think the only thing that will draw me back in is gen 3.
Regarding those comments about China - Nintendo's been releasing games there through it's jointly-owned daughter company iQue. It's console lineup so far has been all portables starting with GBA aswell as the N64 (as the "iQue Player"), with the Wii having been planned for release thete but cancelled for unknown reasons.
@Don The China Communist Party said that pokemon go was a Japanese Army spying device ( China an Japan have an Hostile Rivality) to Find Chinese Military Bases, So they Banned Pokemon Go
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy taiwan*
If they don't make an update for Halloween with some kind of candy giving feature, they need to fire someone at marketing.
@HappyMaskedGuy Pretty sure they kill the animals to make money. Think how many animals dies while Europe and the USA became the 1st world areas they are now, until we provide Africa with a solution to their poverty we can hardly complain that some of their people are trying to make a living.
@gcunit
Thank you. I'd have hated to offend the large Laotian userbase here with my off the cuff remark.
Erm...do you think this could be the first mobile phone game to win game of the year? I mean...it's popularity is insane!
@Wonky_Kong I was talking about the idiots from all over the world who either pay money to shoot big game or those who illegally poach for the disgusting traditional medicine trades of Asia. But yeah, you ride that high horse.
@WilliamCalley Poor response to a perfectly understandable decision. The situation in Laos is incredibly sad, considering the gravity of it's circumstances.
There are more deserving and more rewarding targets out there to poke fun at.
I wonder if Ditto is going to be exclusive to Africa, seeing as every other continent got an exclusive Pokémon.
@HappyMaskedGuy
I don't go for low hanging fruit
@WilliamCalley Indeed
Still not available in India.
@HappyMaskedGuy did you know trophy hunting is the no.1 source for wildlife protection and single handedly funds the paychecks of rangers who defend from hunters? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUA8i5S0YMU
