Re: Launching NX Next Year Is The "Proper" Thing To Do, Says Nintendo Boss Tatsumi Kimishima

MaverickHunterX

This news doesn't really bother me the least bit, 'cuz my gaming backlog is ridiculous.

The only WiiU game that I'm picking up for rest of this year is Tokyo Mirage Sessions#FE, other than that it'll be 3DS, PS3/4 titles:
Legend of Heroes:Trails of Cold Steel 2, Valkyria Chroncles- Remastered, Grand Kingdom, I Am Setsuna, Fairy Fencer f:Advent Dark Force, Star Ocean 5, Odin Sphere-Leifheiser, Atelier Sophie, Guilty Gear Xrd-Revelator, BlazBlue:Central Fiction, Persona 5, 7th Dragon III Code VFD, King of Fighters XIV, and Final Fantasy XV.

So yeah, I'm good.
Hopefully by the time the NX launches in March, I'll make some kind of dent on the games in my 2016 list, maybe even my 2015 backlog.

Having a silent protagonist is the laziest form of storytelling, and is detriment to the story as a whole. You can't truly be invested in a character that has the personality of a bar of soap, with no opinion or input for what's going on around them.

Re: Nintendo Reportedly Pitched NX To Third Parties During E3 2015

MaverickHunterX

No, it's not because of "competition from the tablet industry", it's the fact that the WiiU is a considerably weaker console than the PS4/XBone.

They were so concerned with besting the PS3's specs that they failed to realize that their main focus should've been matching or surpassing current*PC specs, especially that late in the game.

Re: Next Metroid Prime Home Console Title "Would Likely Now be on NX"

MaverickHunterX

@CreativeWelshman Completely agree.

Anyway, Nintendo never said they were working on a new F-Zero or Metroid sequel, all of it was just baseless assumptions made by a few delusional fanboys. Fanboys who think ONE game makes or breaks a console, not it's library of games, just ONE damn game. A game from a series, that's never sold too well to begin with.

And in their mind, if that one particular game doesn't come out, that console's current & future game catalog magically disappears.

The lesson they never seem to learn is that you NEVER buy a console for just one game. You buy it for it's game library. That's what smart people do.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Turns to Classics, DLC and amiibo to Keep Fans Hooked

MaverickHunterX

I mostly liked it.
We got two Fire Emblem games coming out for the 3DS.
Splatoon has an actual release date AND an Amiibo set.
Fatal Frame is actually coming out in the west. WOW
Mario Kart 8 -Animal Crossing DLC being released a early
And SMT x FE is not vaporware and will be out next year.

The only things that disappointed me were how late in the year Yoshi's Woolly World and Xenoblade X were being released. And no word(or trailer) on StarFox.

Oh well, still another month and a half til E3....

Re: Sega Producer Explains Exactly What Went Wrong With Sonic Boom

MaverickHunterX

This is what you do to fix Sonic:
1. Take the gameplay from Sonic Unleash's -Daytime Stages-,
2. And the world hub from Sonic Adventure 1.

That's it.

No "Colors"-esque power ups, no Werehog, no anti-gravity, no laser-tethers, no team-up attacks. Anything other than the two things I mentioned above, burn it, and fire anyone at Sega who thinks otherwise.

Re: Talking Point: The Limited Edition Battle With eBay Scalpers Can be Tackled More Efficiently by Nintendo

MaverickHunterX

I'm all for having a "REAL" preorder system in place, i.e. opening preorders months ahead of release and them actually producing enough to fulfill those preorders.

And Nintendo needs to allow people to order stuff directly from their website, and some preorders need to locked out to people who don't have a registered a current-gen Nintendo console and/or an active NN account.

Doing that should eliminated a lot of the scalpers.

MaverickHunterX

Bought the PS3 version of One Piece Unlimited World RED 'cuz there was a physical version on that platform, it should here by tomorrow.

Other than that, I'm still playing the hell out of Mario Kart 8 online, and catching up on the new summer anime.

@Kaze_Memaryu

^^This guy, he gets it.
It's probably the best explanation on why a "Nintendo Kart" game simply would not work thematically.

And those of you that keep bringing up Sonic All-Star Racing, it didn't work there either. Hell, the whole game is based around "Sonic driving a car".

Yeah, the guy who RUNS fast enough to break the sound barrier, driving a car. That concept was broken from the get-go.

Re: Review: Mario Kart 8 (Wii U)

MaverickHunterX

Never cared much for Battle Mode.
In my opinion, it always seemed half-baked, boring, and a completely unnecessary.

And if that's the biggest flaw in this game, then MK8 is looking more like a 10/10 for me.
