I never really cared much for FFXIII, yet would KILL to have Lightning in this new Smash because she would kick so much ass (she's always been a great fighter, not so much a great character plotwise... XDD ).
Nobody's really going to have an opinion of games from e3 reveals. Xenoblade ended up as my favorite game on the poll simply because they revealed it early and I know pretty much everything about it already from trailers, PLUS there's a valid release window. But ironically, the same kinds of people who got Xeno X first when they wanted Zelda Wii U... they got Skyward Sword first back in 2011 when they demanded the first Xeno game, so the tables have kind of turned. As I keep saying, you guys asked for it.
This is likely to be both the best AND worst thing to come out of a new Metroid Prime reveal at e3. I mean it's not a super epic HD mature type of Metroid game, but as a spinoff it looks to be a fun one, and leagues better than Hunters. Plus even if people hate the look of the game they'll buy it when it comes out... same thing happened to Wind Waker.
This is a sign of either a new partnership or a serious grudge, OR the two conferences are completely unaffiliated and it's just a coincidence. We shall see...
It's always hard when they only list "PT" (Pacific Time). I live way on the other end of the U.S. from LA (in NY), so I have to figure out what 8-9 PM means over here... >_>
Whether or not XBCX releases before or after FF15, it looks like we are going to face a long uphill battle between which franchise performs better overall... XDDD
I actually enjoyed the iOS "lite" version of P&Z (which was free btw) but it's obviously bare-bones unless you pay for the rest of the game, so now I have no choice but to get both games on 3DS in order to play the Mario edition. XP
I want to go out of my own way by saying I just want to play some freaking Nintendo games this year ok?? None of this "Nintendo Fail: 2015 Edition" nonsense. Enough.
And yet if only they could combine their handheld and console markets by releasing a super console you could also play anywhere, we would't have to rely on those damn TVs to play Mario Kart and Smash in High Def.
@Quorthon tl;dr? Well not quite, but as I read it through that just seems like general bias in long paragraphs. You're going on about the Japanese market being "irrelevant" because it's small right? That's just like claiming ultimately Christianity wins because it makes up the world's religious majority compared to other religions... the Yen is still quite strong fyi, maybe not as much as the British pound, but compared to say, the American dollar, Euro, or even Russia's currency having inflated beyond measure it's just feeling the effects of other smaller island-based countries. Therefore even if Nintendo fails like the great Connectivity snafu of 2003 they can always pick up the following year.
And does a new Star Fox sound like Connectivity all over again? Didn't think so.
In spite of this, I bet there's a fair number of generally wealthy third party corporations who are angry that they lost money in 2014, likely on every platform they support including mobile, and no matter what are willing go the distance to blame Nintendo for everything like they always do.
Looks like there won't be any Square Enix-branded whiny teenage blonde JRPG heroes on this version of Smash for DK to clobber, so Shulk will have to do... ;D
@Omarpixel9 I'm pretty sure Bayonetta 2 being Wii U exclusive is why they pulled Legend of Korra away from Nintendo's console (Platinum Games is developing those Korra titles after all).
Um, just because Mercedes Benz DLC is present in MK8 doesn't mean you're REQUIRED to download it. Doesn't that apply to all other games featuring DLC as well, including Ubi's?
Seriously, big game company execs, they're no different from politicians when they say stupid things out loud.
Hmm... well just because Paul McCartney lost money in his divorce settlement with Heather Mills doesn't mean he couldn't just gain it back again by organizing more tours and concerts, which he totally did.
@AJSjedi Yup, no better way to voice criticism of Wii U and the Gamepad than typing in all caps as you pull off an impression of a loud, baby-screaming Steven Tyler.
This is what I was hoping for anyway. A big part of the Wii U's underperforming was due to the lack of titles that utilized all the Gamepad's technology. At least now we can anticipate NFP/Amiibo adding value to Smash 4 and MK8.
Hopefully this will take a more inspired approach to multiplayer than the Crystal Chronicles series. Job selection is a nice start but the game also needs to be fun.
And yes though I'm still holding out for DQ7's release here I know Squenix love to take their sweet time in game translation, so this is nothing new. XDDD
The new TMNT movie being produced by Michael Bay is enough evidence we're entering dark times in the CG/Live Action hybrid field of moviemaking, and now this...
Reminds me a little of Devil May Cry only with a behind-the-back perspective. Though I have a problem with the main character' hips swinging when she moves... @.@;
Good. I hope they push the Gamepad's capabilities to their fullest anyhow. The Kinect was terrible in every sense of the word. Gamepad has the potential to be a game-changer in the long run.
Iwata's a very honest, straightforward man for a Nintendo president, so of course with the current Yen situation we're to expect some good things and some bad things.
I certainly would not worry about 3DS doing well. The obvious players being Tomodachi Life and the newest Pokemon remakes. And yes I'm curious about what those "new" 3rd party titles are.
As for Wii U, numbers were definitely below par last fiscal year but I refuse to believe things are only going to get worse from here on out. They've got Mario Kart and Smash Bros Wii U coming for crying out loud. The online matches are going to be so very packed.
And yet also there's so many indie titles coming out as well that Wii U sales won't skyrocket but they'll certainly get that added "oomph" they need.
@Zombie_Barioth Well if it's Other M 2 or along those lines then I hope the game plays better than the first, or at least features better controls. (ie no more stiff 3D movement with the digital pad)
I HIGHLY doubt it will be Metroid Other M 2. Not sure if it will be Pokemon Conquest 3DS either. Personally I'm guessing Tecmo Koei will attempt to design their own version of Super Punch Out, complete with manga style visuals and a revamped fighting engine. XDDD
You said it. All that button mashing made beating the AI enemies horrendously cheap... except when they were doing the same exact thing and kicking your ass. Sadly, that's what all the "challenge" in many fighting games boils down to. I'd rather stick with Smash Bros.
I'm ok with Bioshock and Portal 2 and all that, but I'd rather see smaller devs take on the big guns with more original software than have to put up with wave after wave of sequels and revisions made for the sake of profit.

@rbmoura85 2D "de-makes" of projects in the making aren't necessarily a bad thing. Take a look at Mutant Mudds for instance. XD
But even though this revival may not be what many were hoping for I'm still crossing my fingers for a Wii remote control option.
