Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 Digital Event?

MamaLuigi

Nobody's really going to have an opinion of games from e3 reveals. Xenoblade ended up as my favorite game on the poll simply because they revealed it early and I know pretty much everything about it already from trailers, PLUS there's a valid release window. But ironically, the same kinds of people who got Xeno X first when they wanted Zelda Wii U... they got Skyward Sword first back in 2011 when they demanded the first Xeno game, so the tables have kind of turned. As I keep saying, you guys asked for it.

Re: Nintendo Dominated Japan During 2014, Despite A Shrinking Market

MamaLuigi

@Quorthon tl;dr? Well not quite, but as I read it through that just seems like general bias in long paragraphs. You're going on about the Japanese market being "irrelevant" because it's small right? That's just like claiming ultimately Christianity wins because it makes up the world's religious majority compared to other religions... the Yen is still quite strong fyi, maybe not as much as the British pound, but compared to say, the American dollar, Euro, or even Russia's currency having inflated beyond measure it's just feeling the effects of other smaller island-based countries. Therefore even if Nintendo fails like the great Connectivity snafu of 2003 they can always pick up the following year.

And does a new Star Fox sound like Connectivity all over again? Didn't think so.

Re: Final Fantasy Explorers Announced for 3DS

Hopefully this will take a more inspired approach to multiplayer than the Crystal Chronicles series. Job selection is a nice start but the game also needs to be fun.

And yes though I'm still holding out for DQ7's release here I know Squenix love to take their sweet time in game translation, so this is nothing new. XDDD

Re: Nintendo Looking To "Harvest" 3DS Success To Avoid An "Unacceptable" Fourth Year Of Losses

MamaLuigi

Iwata's a very honest, straightforward man for a Nintendo president, so of course with the current Yen situation we're to expect some good things and some bad things.

I certainly would not worry about 3DS doing well. The obvious players being Tomodachi Life and the newest Pokemon remakes. And yes I'm curious about what those "new" 3rd party titles are.

As for Wii U, numbers were definitely below par last fiscal year but I refuse to believe things are only going to get worse from here on out. They've got Mario Kart and Smash Bros Wii U coming for crying out loud. The online matches are going to be so very packed.

And yet also there's so many indie titles coming out as well that Wii U sales won't skyrocket but they'll certainly get that added "oomph" they need.
