I agree to an extent, but I do miss the days when games launched finished... so much so I no longer buy games day one from anyone but Nintendo, and even that's gotten iffier than it used to be.
Arms seems like the most natural choice. Most of the other options I would prefer new games for... Though I voted for Zelda because expanding the dungeon maker sounds great π
I'll just buy the DLC eventually. I don't think these DLCs are a good draw... it would be better if they adopted a Games with Gold model and gave away retro games.
Or so I think. A lot of other Xbox gamers hate GwG.
I got too hyped for Zelda news... my fault. It was ok, MK DLC is welcome, and I'm looking forward to Kirby and Splatoon... the rest was wait for a sale or Christmas type stuff.
Couldn't agree more. The only thing gamers have to gain from this is... what? Bragging rights that "their" console of choice has the best exclusives?
There's no immediate benefits to us other than more games in Game Pass, which is great now, but let me tell you what's going to happen to Game Pass in a few years when Microsoft hits their subscription targets...
One of my favorite gaming memories is Tatl asking if you've done this before. Why yes, Tatl, yes I have. πNavi never bugged me that much... I've always liked the idea of Link having an adventure companion, I think it's a very sound concept.
I can get behind most of these. An upgrade system for weapons would be nice. Some way to make them permanent, and also to make them more powerful over time.
I did not miss dungeons. If they do bring them back, I hope they keep their size under control. They were getting out of hand, especially in Twilight Princess.
Oof, I wanted to pick 3 options. I'd love to see Smash Kart, but actual flying and the return of the Double-Dash mechanic would be great.
Mario Kart Ultimate, but with all previous tracks instead of all previous characters would also be cool. With Mario Kart I feel like the tracks are more important than the racers.
A remake of Four Swords Adventures would make me very happy. Loved it but never could get four GBAs together. I bought a second one so my little sis and I could play together.
7. Some good games, but overall not their best year. I realized recently that I only picked up two of their games this year, Skyward Sword and Metroid Dread.
AoL is easily my least favorite. The overly high difficulty level (right from the start) is one thing, but I also just find it tedious, which is much harder to forgive π
I'd also give an honorable mention to the DS games. I hated Spirit Tracks especially. They just had a... soulless quality to me somehow. It was like a burrito tortilla with no meat. It looked like Zelda but there was nothing inside.
I loved Four Swords back in the day. I wish Nintendo would do a re-release that doesn't require special equipment or multiple consoles... I would love a couch co-op I can play with my little sister.

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 14.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Pretty suspicious timing, with the 3DS and Wii U shops beginning their shutdown tomorrow...
Edit: I'm dumb, never mind.
Re: Random: Is Miyamoto's Most Famous Quote Not His After All?
@yuwarite Tell that to Battlefield 2042 π

Re: Random: A Rare Zelda: The Wind Waker Promo Scroll Gets An Airing
Very cool. I would definitely hang one of these on the wall if Nintendo put them up for sale.
Re: Review: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 1 - A 'Safe' Start To The 48-Track DLC Pack
I thought for a second they added Fox McCloud to the game when I wasn't looking π

Re: Capcom Launches Its Biggest 3DS Sale Ever (US)
That Mega Man collection is tempting... would anyone recommend it?
Re: Nintendo Download: 10th March (North America)
CHEX QUEST HECK YES.
Re: Talking Point: How Long Does Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Take To Beat, Really?
Still working on shrines and seeds and side quests... I will probably call it done when the new one comes out. Until then the adventure continues...
Re: Chex Quest HD Exists, And It's Getting A Switch Port This March
YES YES YES. Day 1. I LOVED this game back in the day.
Re: Review: The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask - Magnificent, Unique, And Worth Revisiting
I would have preferred a 2-pack with both the 3DS remasters. I'd probably have been willing to plunk down $60...
Re: Zelda Is The Franchise Fans Want To See Next At The Cinema, According To Poll
An anime based on the Twilight Princess manga would be fantastic, provided they can get the voice of Link right.

Walmart here in the US is offering a Popsocket... I'm holding out hoping someone will get socks π
Re: PokΓ©mon Presents Broadcast Confirmed For This Week
Detective Lugia. Same plot as Detective Pikachu, but with a giant bird.
Re: Random: 'Nintendo Generation' Skeletons Aren't Tough Enough, Says US Army Major
@Not_Soos ReDeads would be better.
Re: Nintendo Acquires SRD, A Longtime Partner Studio With Mario And Zelda Game Credits
@Maxz I don't know Ninty could pass that up. Maybe we can also find someone who can pull a tablecloth without disturbing the dishes.
Re: Nintendo Acquires SRD, A Longtime Partner Studio With Mario And Zelda Game Credits
@Maxz Same. I can't hang spoons off my nose, but I make a mean grilled cheese sandwich.
Re: Poll: The End Is Coming, But How Much Will You Miss The Wii U And 3DS eShop?
A sale would be nice... Detective Pikachu is still $40!
Re: Nintendo Is Ending 3DS & Wii U eShop Purchases In March 2023 (North America)
Time to hog wild on the virtual console π

I got too hyped for Zelda news... my fault. It was ok, MK DLC is welcome, and I'm looking forward to Kirby and Splatoon... the rest was wait for a sale or Christmas type stuff.
Re: Poll: What Are Your Hopes For The February Nintendo Direct?
BOTW2, new Mario and DK, and... something unexpected. Personally, I'd love remasters of DK64 and Four Swords Adventures...
Re: Feature: Our Predictions For The February 2022 Nintendo Direct
I think the "one more thing" will be title and release date for BOTW2, no footage.
I'd also like to see Mario Odyssey 2. Co-op with Donkey Kong would be a fun twist.

Re: Metroid Prime Dev Confirms That Nintendo Blocked The Addition Of Super Metroid To The Game
Would have been nice at the time... oh well. Kind of surprised the game has never gotten much of a re-release beyond the Virtual Console.
Re: First Activision, Now EA? FIFA Publisher Is Tipped For Takeover
@Specter_of-the_OLED Good point. It's already happening with Disney's acquisition of Fox. Some studios and franchises have been completely buried.
Re: Microsoft Has Bought Activision Blizzard
@CANOEberry Agreed. They SHOULD stop this one, but they won't. Disney buying Fox was clearly too far, and they didn't care about that π
Re: Talking Point: Could 'Mario Kart 9' Be The Smash Bros. Ultimate Of Racers?

Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess Manga Will End With The Next Chapter
Been really enjoying this series. I figured 10 would be the last. I hope they do BoTW next.
This series would be perfect material for an anime adaptation though.
Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2022
Shadowgate 64... it was one of my favorite N64 games and it's been largely forgotten.
Re: Random: This Guy Has Been Mining Out An Entire Minecraft World For 4 Years, And He's Almost Finished
Looks cool visually. Emptying out a world seems silly, but creating an impossibly giant canyon I get.
Re: A New Ghostbusters Game Is "Definitely Happening" According To Ernie Hudson
I liked the new movie, so I will put this in the "cautiously optimistic" box.
Re: GRIME Is A 'Soulslike Metroidvania' Heading To Switch Next Summer
Metroidvania sounds nice... soulslike less so π
Re: Nintendo Download: 16th December (North America)
A new Yu-gi-oh game slipped in at the bottom there... I'm curious whether that's any good...
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate Nintendo's 2021?
7. Some good games, but overall not their best year. I realized recently that I only picked up two of their games this year, Skyward Sword and Metroid Dread.
Re: You Can Get Your Official 'Year In Review' Switch Stats Now
Most played for me were Hyrule Warriors, BOTW, and Metroid: Dread.
My recommended were also terrible, but the upcoming games make 2022 look fantastic.
Re: Poll: What's The Best Switch Game Of 2021? It's Time To Rate Your Favourites
Metroid and Skyward Sword for me... slow year. Lot to look forward to next year though!
Re: Nintendo's Giving ο»ΏAway Free Trials For Switch ο»ΏOnline, Eο»Ώven If You've Used One Before (Europe)
I don't think the US offer is current?? Unless I'm just stupid... the only offer I've found is expired.
Re: Mini Review: WinBack: Covert Operations - Omega Force's Overlooked And Influential Cover Shooter
I know it's not a new problem, but I find the refusal to fix controller pak issues really frustrating.
Re: Surprise! Nintendo Has Added A 'Most Played' Section To The Switch eShop
I was hoping for an overall playtime counter... that would be more interesting.
My top game is Breath of the Wild, and has been for the whole time I've had my Switch.
Re: Poll: What's The Worst Legend Of Zelda Game?
@sinetic I think they accidentally did Four Swords twice.
Re: Poll: What's The Worst Legend Of Zelda Game?
Also I enjoyed Triforce Heroes... I think it's way underrated as a follow up to Four Swords. I'd like to see them do a multiplayer Zelda for Switch.

@meijin3 Nailed it. The CCP has no problem letting us fund our own demise.
