Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Releasing Two New Versions Of Switch This Year

Illusion

I don't believe this rumor. If Nintendo is developing new SKUs, they'll be nothing like anyone can predict. That's how they roll. Like my current iteration of the Switch, so unless a new one comes with the ability to run Fallout 3, New Vegas, the Dragon Age trilogy, and a version of Soul Calibur, I probably won't care for years.

Re: Review: DELTARUNE Chapter 1 - A Welcome Successor To Undertale That Plays It A Little Too Safe

Illusion

Never played Undertale. Did play through this and though I don't get invested in many turn based RPGs, this game hooked me. I'm probably going to cave and get Undertale eventually, just like I'll pay for chapter 2 of this. More games should offer the first 25% for free. Allows me to try things I never would for any amount of money because I loathe Final Fantasy and suffer through Earthbound and Super Mario RPG for their quirky stories.

Re: Video: The Doom Annihilation Movie Looks Absolutely Horrifying

Illusion

I liked the first Doom. Rewatch it every year or two.
I also like Silent Hill, Resident Evil 1 and 2, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and Super Mario Bros, so my taste in videogame movies isn't amazing 🤣
Doubt this new Doom will turn out better than the first one.
Edit: Wing Commander is also an enjoyable watch....just need to survive the characters cringey emotional dialogue.

Re: It's That Time Of Year Again, Happy MAR10 Day!

Illusion

Finishing Skyward Sword and starting Ocarina of Time. Mario will just have to be happy for Link this year. I also played Donkey Kong, Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 1, 2, 3, Super Mario Odyssey, and Punchout!! Recently, so I think Mario has had enough time in the sun for a few more weeks at least 😜

Re: Devolver Digital Is "Still Going To Do An E3 Press Conference"

Illusion

@BenAV their E3 "show" is a parody of all the other big shows. I think their E3 segment from 2 years ago only highlighted like 2 games for 30 seconds, other than that it was pure comedy insanity. Fake blood, outrageous deaths, and yelling at their studio audience aka actors.
Don't watch it for games. Its just plain hilarity.

Re: Video: We Weren't Sure We Wanted A Zelda: Link's Awakening Remake, Until We Got It

Illusion

Loved Legend of Zelda
Loved Zelda II
Loved a Link to the Past
Disliked for Link's Awakening
Loved Ocarina of Time
Disliked Majora's Mask
Disliked Oracle of Seasons
Disliked Oracle of Ages
Disliked Minish Cap
Loved Wind Waker
Disliked Phantom Hourglass
Disliked Spirit Tracks
Loved Four Swords Adventures
Loved Twilight Princess
Loved Skyward Sword
Loved a Link Between Worlds
Disliked Triforce Heroes
Loved Breath of the Wild
I still consider myself a Zelda fan, but many of the portable games haven't clicked with me, including the original Link's Awakening which I owned on my gameboy as a child. It was okay, but I always felt the gameplay and puzzles were beneath the first 3 games. I don't look forward to this remake, especially if its just the same game with updated graphics. I'm a huge Zelda fan and I hope this game is great for everyone, but I'm not excited about it for me. This is my opinion.

Re: Japanese Poll Discovers That Vast Majority Of Viewers Were Pleased With The Nintendo Direct

Illusion

@andrew124 there are people who don't enjoy the same games you do. This is because we do not all have the same brains, personalities, likes, and dislikes.
I like Nintendo. The fact I dislike puzzlers, JRPGs, and sports games is my opinion. I am glad that most people were pleased with the announcements. I'm looking forward to Daemon x Machina, but most of the direct was not targeted toward me and that is okay. I like most Zelda games more than Link's Awakening, build your own Mario game 2 is not something I ever desired, and I feel very disengaged during JRPGs.
I don't have to like and buy every Nintendo product ever made to be a Nintendo fan. I'm a Nintendo fan because I like MOST things they make. If that's not good enough for you, take it up with Nintendo and get them to revoke my Mynintendo ID.

Re: Nintendo Download: 14th February (North America)

Illusion

Beat Super Mario Bros 2 yesterday.
Halfway through Kirby's Adventure.
Beat the demo for Daemon x Machina yesterday.
Played some Iron Crypticle. Once I get bored of that, might need to replay through Shovel Knight Treasure Trove campaigns in anticipation for King Knight.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Summary - 13th February

Illusion

Happy about the Daemon ex Machina demo.
Happy Starlink is getting more content.
Other than that, this is my least favorite direct since the announcement of the Switch.
Not interested in a single other thing shown during the direct. Link's Awakening is one of my least liked Zeldas and build your own Mario game (or be tortured by someone elses) does not appeal to me.
Also, far too many RPGs shown off during this one (another genre I have a few exceptions for, but loathe most)
Guess I'll just enjoy what I have for most of 2019. Here's hoping E3 is better.

Re: More Than 1,800 Games Have Now Been Released On The Nintendo Switch

Illusion

I have 20 retail games and around 80 playable icons on my dashboard (ten of which are probably demos). My game purchases have slowed way down for 2019 so I'm looking forward to the next Direct. Love having so many console and arcade quality games portable. Many for the first time. By not being a PC gamer since 2012 I've missed quite a few good indies like Enter the Gungeon, ShovelKnight, and Broforce that I've sunk about a hundred or so hours into each.
I expect even more great games on Switch.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 9th)

Illusion

Enter the Gungeon has sucked me back in. Done 250 runs now and killed the pasts of the main 4. Haven't made it through bullet hell or unlocked the bonus characters so always something to strive for.
Played the demo for Bad North. Was pretty fun and will buy eventually, but after preordering Iron Crypticle I think I should give it a few weeks before informing the missus that I want even more games.
Keep playing the NES app, blew through the fast n fun ones recently, now need to see if I have the gumption to play through either Zelda or Mario 3.

Re: Talking Point: What Does The Nintendo Seal Of Quality Mean In 2019?

Illusion

@MBII not at all, but Nintendo is carrying it uncensored on their console that also has Mario collective gasp of overrective parents. At least they'll be able to get the censored version on playstation because they have standards that'll protect your family. Feel free to play all the mature games you want there, as long as its just language and nightmarish amounts of gore.
All joking aside I'm glad Ninty doesn't have a moral code that all licensed games must pass nowadays. Unlike Sony. Weird times.

Re: Talking Point: What Does The Nintendo Seal Of Quality Mean In 2019?

Illusion

The Seal of Quality's only purpose to me is nostalgia. It looks nice and I sometimes steal removable versions from T-Shirts and other merch to slap on my Switch dock and entertainment center. There's enough good, popular stuff that letting people publish darn near whatever is fine. DOA Extreme won't cause a mass boycott of Nintendo Products, nor will Vroom in the Night Sky cause 98% of the North American public to just stop buying video games. Its just a cute little badge nowadays. Nothing more.
