Re: More Than 1500 Cheaters Took Part in Pokémon's 2013 Global Showdown

All this talk about "IV" and "EV" makes me feel bleh. First, I didn't monitor stats, and now there's IV and EV's? I'm such an ameteur

I guess I can understand why people cheat, not because I understand IV's and EV's, but because I have Pokerus, and I ultilized it early on 1/4 of the Pokemon I.use in high level battles. I don't think it makes THAT big of a difference, since 1/2 of my main team's stats are naturally bad compared to what others use.

I like to think that most of my wins are due to my careful item selection, strategy, and just luck in Pokemon selection for battle, but I don't know if that's entirely true. Then again, I don't know too much about how stats work.

I thought the random level generator would make it easier for less experienced players?

Anyways, I don't think fixed music would work because sometimes you go through stages so quickly, having music change when I move to the cave level could be annoying.

@WingedFish 9 is a fantastic score, but Earthbound still had room for improvement. While it doesn't really need anymore improvement, there's still some room for it.

I remember when I saw two people rate Mother 3 8/10. I flipped. Now that I use my brain, I agree with them. I also think this game is between 8-9. 8 is far from a bad number.

Re: Report Suggests You'll Soon Be Able To Purchase Nintendo Titles Via Your Phone Or PC

@raiden777 But you can nearly find any information you need on the internet. And if we're talking about games, there certainly is a way to find all the games you need on the web. I'm not trying to promote anything, of course.

What's so wrong with Nintendo making Kong, Mario Bros, or Super Mario Bros on the phone? It'd make Ninty rich, and it would make smartphone users frustrated!

Re: First Impressions: Disney Infinity

@Yeah, buddy sure. And I came up with a Nintendo fighting game, a game where Mario and Sonic compete in sports, a Link to the Past sequel, yadda yadda yadda.

Having an idea before someone else, and even if you keep shouting it out to other people hardly matters unless you execute that idea first. If you can't execute it fast or good enough, then patent it, if possible. If you can't do that, and if someone else comes up with the same idea, so what? It's not like anything frustrating comes out of that.

Re: Review: Mario & Luigi: Dream Team (3DS)

@DerpSandwich It granted an immense amount of charm and fun.

If the battles are fun and delightful, that's your motivation to go and battle (and perhaps to claim new stickers).

I remember this from the Sticker Star review from Nintendolife: "If there's one thing we can learn from its 3DS catalogue so far, it's that Nintendo is great at the safe sequel... and Paper Mario: Sticker Star feels content with offering largely more of the same."

It also got an 8/10

I think the author of the review said that because Sticker Star (from my knowledge) still has the charm, fun, and humor of the older games. While I don't know if the story has been "dumbed down", we didn't keep playing Paper Mario because the uber-complex story, but rather the charm, fun, dialogue and humor.

Re: Toki Tori Creator Tells of Missed Angry Birds Opportunity

IIaprghwrughapiw

@Kaze_Memaryu But Angry Birds and Call of Duty have great gameplay. If someone dislikes it, it certainly wouldn't be general tastes since the million's of fans would argue otherwise. It's hate is not due to it's fame, nor to it's gameplay in most cases. I'm sure it's because, well, the same reason you think Call of Duty and Angry Bird's got succesful perhaps.

Re: Freedom Factory's Bloodbath Coming to Wii U

IIaprghwrughapiw

@element187 Gore's fine if it fits within the gameplay. It doesn't affect anything in the story usually. Uncharted was probably planned with that type of combat, just because a character's a "normal guy" shouldn't affect gameplay (although I've never played it, so I don't know if you mean gore as in killing or lots of blood).

Is Nathan Drake really a "normal guy"?
