Re: Smartphones And Tablets To Be "Primary Screen For Gamers" By 2017

@AltDotNerd Tons of titles on consoles put iOS and Android games to shame. But there are so many idiots in the comment section. You were the only guy to reply to me, out of all the people here who disagree with me, you were the only one.

What smartphone gaming is now won't be the same in about ten years. It won't be smartPHONES, it could be smartconsoles. You'll be able to connect it to a tv, and play it with a traditional controller. You'll be able to disconnect it from your tv and bring it with you. If it's for gaming, but it's also multi-purpose, it could also have buttons and circle pads. Nintendo could move to this, heck, all the big 3 could move to this. Game developers and their AAA games will move to smartconsoles. Indie devs will, too. The Vita and 3DS will most likely be the last handhelds that are made JUST for games. It'll be your phone, your mic, your do-everything tool.

How is this bad?

@SCAR392 What this article is saying, is that if Nintendo did a better job with planning when to develop the games, they could've done the launch better, they never said do it faster.

I disagree with this article, because I think what really messed with the Wii U was not bad planning specifically for the Wii U, but bad planning for the 3DS. They would've been able to finish Wii U games much faster if they started working on the 3DS games earlier. Either way, it's impossible to tell the future.

Whenever someone puts up a video or a blog about how Nintendo could've and/or should've done more planning to make the Wii U's launch better, they're right, it could've been better, same with the 3DS. When people say that Iwata hasn't learned from the 3DS launch and should be fired, they're wrong.

It was the bad planning of the 3DS launch that led to the messed up Wii U launch. Just think about it; I'm not looking into a list of when 3DS games launch, and I'm not doing stellar research, but the amount of time it took to finish the 3DS games probably didn't let them put as much manpower into the making of Wii U games. It really shows that one slip-up can hurt the future.

I don't think Iwata should be fired because of a Domino effect, but if does get fired, I hope it's not someone with the mindset of making Nintendo act like the King of the Hill they used to be, because they're not, and they won't ever be again. People are wrong about Nintendo not acting like what they used to be being a bad thing. Nintendo isn't what they used to be, period.

@AltDotNerd In several years, you'll be proven wrong. If the big 3 don't move to multi-function devices, someone else will, and they'll die. I estimate 10 years, and then Nintendo probably will have multi-function devices (that are mainly for games, but can be used as phones), that have Pokemon, Zelda, Mario, etc. It'll easily be possible with technology growing. There are just so many people that don't want to grow. Nintendo will still be here, our video games will still be here, just on a device we can do more than just play games with.

Even though I don't think it'll happen by 2017, it's gonna happen someday. Someday you'll be able to use your phone as a console, as a portable console, etc. Not as a phone, but as a do everything device. Just plug in your phone into the tv and you can play games like Injustice, Call of Duty, maybe the big 3 will move to all around devices. If the legend of zelda moves to not a smartphone, but a device you can use as a phone, and a console, it'll be just as good. Controller can connect to it, so we don't have to worry too much about buttons.

Re: Shigesato Itoi Says Mother 4 Would Be "Impossible"

IIaprghwrughapiw

I don't know why people are complaining so much as to why he isn't. All of the sequels were not direct sequels in the first place, and they always had to find some way to connect them. For those sad about no sequel due to the intriguing story and characters, there are many games (RPG's and more) out there that have a story just as good as Earthbound (eg. Shin Megami Tensei and sub-series), not the same vibe, but just as good stories. As for the combat, that wasn't the best out there anyways. Mother 3 was fantastic, and I for one would like to see Itoi try his hand at something new.

Re: Shigesato Itoi Says Mother 4 Would Be "Impossible"

IIaprghwrughapiw

@ricklongo The Mother games are over. Itoi might just feel that a sequel would be pushing it or ruin it. If you've played the series, you probably know that the connections between each game is somewhat vague, and must be noticed by the player. I think making a sequel truly would be impossible to at least making a presentable sequel.

@tanookisuit Yeah, but SD card prices are getting very low these days, so it's not that bad if you buy lots of games.

I hate the term "real", and even "real life". If the data is stored on a disc or cart instead of your system, that doesn't make it any more "real". It's still just data. "Real life" is stupid too. I'm real, your real. Internet is real. If it's not, what are we doing then?

Re: Talking Point: The Importance of the Virtual Console

IIaprghwrughapiw

@bluecat They mentioned GBA games during a press conference, same with gamecube games on Wii U. If they can let Ambassadors download them, clearly they can let anyone download them if they wanted to. In a business standpoint, spreading out your releases just makes sense. Please stop being ignorant.

Re: Talking Point: The Importance of the Virtual Console

IIaprghwrughapiw

@bluecat GBA games are not ONLY going to be on Wii U. GBA games were already given to Nintendo Ambassadors of the 3DS, so clearly their waiting later in the 3DS's lifetime to release GBA games to all. GBA games are coming to Wii U, but they're not coming in the initial update, we don't know when. SNES games will most likely be in the 3DS vc later in its lifetime. Please read/listen to what Nintendo actually says.
