Re: Molyneux: Nintendo Is "Brilliant" At Attracting Players, But Their Hardware "Gets In The Way"

IIaprghwrughapiw

@AlexSays Even if they wouldn't put quality digital buttons into the port, and just said "deal with it" to the consumer with a crappy b-a run and jump combo button, and a nearly disfunctional d-pad, Super Mario Bros. [NES] would still probably trump angry birds.

The only negative thing I can see from them porting NES games to iOS and Android, is that they'll start getting a wee bit carried away, and start making actual games for the mobile market. How is that bad? Nintendo would put much of their development onto mobile games rather than the console market (unless they could use their tons of moolah to cater to both) and "forget" the core gamers even more so than with people claimed Nintendo did with the Wii.

Re: Impressions: The Best Buy "Nintendo Experience"

@AlexSays That's what I was thinking. But we never know how the general public (not just the internet) will react to a PS4 demo event. It'll probably be positive, but the casual consumer probably isn't worried about things such as low games, DRM, or too much of online features.

That lone Microsoft employee was a brave one. Fighting off fanboys that know that they're spouting off false-information. Don Mattrick must be proud.

Re: Interview: Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma Talks DLC, Missing Dungeons And Majora's Mask

I get baffled that people beg for Majora's Mask 3D, but complain about Ocarina of Time 3D. Shows how many individuals are Zelda fans.

I personally don't like the idea of MM3D. Critics said that the content in OoT3D wasn't worth getting over the $10 dollar virtual console version, even with the smoother 3D graphics and mobility.

I agree with them. Although Zelda fans(boys?) will flock over this one even more so than OoT3D. As all of us will struggle to afford these upcoming releases, I'll give my two-cents on this maniacal financial problem of ours (which has been here since the dawn of time if my lack of calculations are correct).

Buy what you want to buy.

Re: Nintendo to Launch First Free-To-Play Game By March 2014

IIaprghwrughapiw

If free-to-play will give us a new IP, then bring it on.

Some people are saying Nintendo shouldn't do F2P and stick with $60 disc games, and make a new IP there. But the game will be designed differently than $60 games with F2P in mind similar to how portable and console games are designed differently.

Designed for F2P doesn't necessarily mean nickel and diming. It just means they'd try to make a hook, combined with ample gameplay, like trading in TF2.

By the way,Tank! Tank! Tank! downloadable edition wasn't released by Nintendo.

Re: Feature: What We Expect From Nintendo's E3 Direct

@hydeks They had a better presentation for the games. It wasn't as slow-paced as Sony and they showed games we haven't seen yet. Sony's games most of which we already knew were exactly being made. Sony won on the console side, of course (but they talked about THEIR multimedia features). Microsoft didn't even mention anything to dislike, or much of the console itself since it was covered in the reveal. What people are saying is that Microsoft had a better conference because of the quallity within that conference, not something that's irrelevant, i.e. the consoles negative features.

Re: Feature: What We Expect From Nintendo's E3 Direct

The Basic bundle is already $100 less than the PS4, and the 3DS was a different story because it was priced exactly the same as the wifi Vita. It might still get a price cut, it might still succeed or fail. The Wii U will succeed because not the 3DS, but because the Wii U.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Should Aim to Produce Mature, Genre-Defining Storytelling Experiences

IIaprghwrughapiw

@Yorumi You're wrong about that. You don't need to make a story with crazy heart-pounding, thought-provoking questions. It doesn't need to question what you're doing in real life. The definition of a mature game is vague, and I suppose I'll try to define it.

The reason why Mario isn't mature is because it focuses on a concept a child can easily understand i.e. fun. It's something that a child can easily come by.

When I played TellTales Walking Dead, it made me care about the characters so much, to the point that my actions were happening not because of the game was telling me to, but because I wanted to. When a character was in danger, I wanted to save them. I wanted to converse and interact with them. Worrying for fictional characters isn't what a child would usually do, would he?

EDIT: I'm disappointed at my inability to express a simple coherent point and thought to what you have stated. If anyone could easily read and infer the meaning of my previous statements, I applaud you in thanks.
