Re: Rumour: Retro's Wii U Title Is An Entirely New IP

IIaprghwrughapiw

@Peach64 Not to mention something western.

I really would rather not have another Prime game, at least not right now. A new IP that's exclusive to Nintendo would be amazing (and different since it'll have western origins), and if they made a game with a Nintendo IP, I'd prefer it to be Star Fox or F-zero.

Anyone else cringe when people refer to the Prime series as Metroid?

I might pick it up. I really want to, but I'm still undecided on which Wii U game I should pick up next. I have Nintendoland, MH3U, and Injustice, and I'm thinking about getting one of the newer ones. I've heard bad things about Fast & furious, and I already have Lego Batman on my Wii so those two are out. It's between Resident Evil Revelations or this...

@Jayvir Sly, Jack, and Ratchet are already in 3D, Earthbound is not.

3D doesn't actually matter, but it makes sense, right? Not to mention they've already done a package on the Game Boy Advance.

If it's a triple-pack with new 3D models and tweaks, that would be amazing. Plus it would explain the price to an extent.

@belmont I have no idea what your talking about. Playstation graphics? Are we really going to compare the two?

I mean just look at it.

A common reply would be "It's just opinion, you jerk, respect it". I know it's your opinion, it doesn't mean I can't disagree.

It really looks nothing like a Playstation game, did you see a low res video or something?

Re: Poll: Do You Follow and Watch Rival Console Reveals?

I'm going to stick with the Wii U only, unless they're some exclusives I really like. Knack looks great to me, but one exclusive isn't enough!

I never had a Microsoft console, so I maybe I'll buy one. Then again, it probably won't have many JRPG's... I'll need to see what games will be on the platform first, but for now, I'm with the Wii U.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Should Step Up for the Wii U eShop

@NINTENBOY

#1 To let people keep their games from the Wii shop. Nintendo would need every developer who made/ported a game on the Wiiware and VC to completely be on board on day one. Considering that many of the studios have closed down, I doubt that could've happened.

#2 To spread the VC releases day 1. If they bomb us with all the games on all Nintendo systems ever, do you really think the novelty and excitement would be bigger? No, it'd be a big mess like browsing on the Wii shop.

#3 No multi-touch, and they'd need 25% percent of the developer's who developed games for tablets permission to do that. It costs money, and many of them are foreign, or got shut down.

#4 I'm pretty sure you can cancel your download. BTW you did get started, you said it was annoying.

#5 I'd like that too, but what has that got to do with the e-shop itself?

#6 Wii "Speck" came late in the Wii's lifetime. Using Miiverse to start party chats would take away the charm of miiverse. Remember, this is not PS3 or Xbox, it's the Wii U. I'd still like a feature like this, though.

#7 Camera in the front of tablet allows facecams. Why would they even want a camera on the back? It doesn't need one, and it's not a smartphone, so don't treat it like one.

You actually think the share button is a good idea? Um, okay. BTW it doesn't upload straight to Youtube, just to Sony's special social network. Sony is handling video sharing horribly, from what I'm seeing in the info so far. What makes you think Nintendo will do better?

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Should Step Up for the Wii U eShop

IIaprghwrughapiw

@Deadstanley I 90% agree with you and SpaceKappa.

While I would love to be assured that I can just redownload all of my games in case of my Wii U breaking, I can see why they didn't do it.

They're probably afraid of people putting their account on other systems and redownloading their games so others can play it.

Still, I want dat assurance.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Direct on 17th May - The Big Summary

IIaprghwrughapiw

Please stop disregarding Other M as a non-Metroid game.

The gameplay (i.e. combat, movement and such) was decent if not above average. The story would sound alright if you were given a brief summary.

The problem with the game was the execution of narrative. It was downright horrible, and you know what I'm talking about if you played the game. Go watch the Extra Creditz episode if you want to know more about what I'm talking about.

I think this actually proves what Warren Spector has been saying; putting focus on the quality of the narrative can matter greatly. If it was simply all about the gameplay and narrative doesn't matter, people wouldn't complain about the game in the first place.

Of course, many of you may reply to me about to cry the name of Mario to prove me wrong. Mario doesn't focus on a story, and some even argue it doesn't count as a story. Metroid: Other M tried to have a deep story, but they didn't put enough focus for quality in telling that story.
