It's that time again, as Club Nintendo in North America has updated its rewards for September; once again there are eight downloads that you can pick up with some hard earned coins.
This batch follows the same trend as the August equivalent, with six Virtual Console games and two DSiWare titles; the eight offerings are once again split evenly between Wii / Wii U and 3DS. Check out your options below.

Wish Mario Bros was for the 3DS, might get pictobits.
Super punch out is a game I love but I have the cartridge and I'd want to upgrade it to the Wii U version so.....maybe I'll keep my coins for now
Are they intentionally trying to have horrible rewards?
Anything worth it, I already have. That's why I have the coins I have.
Loved NES Play Action Football back in the day. Surprised you guys gave it a 3/10. But since it doesn't have the WiiU upport, think I'll pass.
I own most of the games I want already. Saving coins for another month.
Oh my, I have all options for 3DS, so nothing for me...
@King47 There are plenty of good games. They are just repeats or things we already own.
Holy smokes. I'll have zero coins by the end of today ^_^
Well it's nice 5 of 8 games were reviewed an 8/10 or better, but I'v eplayed those, and the other 3 I don't want.
I have 4 game codes sitting in front of me needing to get entered and I'm not inspired by that list.
Maybe if Zelda was on Wii U I'ld get it for nostalgia. That is a home console game isn't it, unless this is something else? Why put it on the 3DS and not Wii U? Nintenod' is always messing around like that.
More of the same, what else is new?
Lots of great Virtual Console titles. Unfortunately, VC titles are cheap enough in my opinion not to be worth Club Nintendo coins.
Thats the trouble with already owning a billion games..haha. Wish they would do more games that were not part of the Ambassador Program.
@Undead_terror Agreed!
Might get Mario Bros for VC. Would like to get Picytobits but may have to delete a title to put it on my system. My system is full on DSiWare!
@rjejr
I agree there. I picked it on the survey, but I want the Wii U version. I already have it on 3DS as I am an Ambassador. The rest of the games I already have or don't care about.
I already own the two games that I would want. The only other title I have heard great things about is Kirb. I've never gotten into a single kirby game though.
Kirby Superstar ain't bad.
If they are going to offer DSiWare they should at least offer the best of it. I guess pictobits might be cool.
I have all the ones I want
Maybe Kirby I guess? I probably wouldn't buy it with actual money, but I never seem to have anything to spend my coins on anyway.
Pictobits is an awesome pickup! Definitely worth 200 coins - if you like puzzle games, pixel art, and great chiptunes you'll be in heaven!
This is just like steam sales after being like 2-3 years on Steam, you pretty much own every possible big game you like and you start to feel that they sucks so much
I own almost every VC that has been on gifts, so i feel thry sucks now
Looks like i'll be savings my coins again XP
I was gonna coin super star but it's wiiu only darn it. My coins are safe for another month...
Sigh, Kirby Super Star for me I guess.
They don't offer any current games for the monthly rewards anymore (guess they're saving those for platinum rewards now, lol). It's just VC, plus DSiWare and 3D Classics, which are also basically VC. The last time we got anything remotely current it was Dillon's Rolling Western in November. Meanwhile, they think every old NES game and $5 DSiWare game should be worth 200 coins, so basically only the SNES and N64 games are worth the coins they ask.
Is anyone else who got Kirby Super Star Unable to download it? I'm getting an error saying that it isn't yet being distributed.
Nothing. Yet. Again. :/
Kirby for me!
@B3ND3R me too
Saw that Europe got some awesome Yoshi plush, and we got this... sigh
Aren't these ALL repeat rewards at some point or another?
Aside from being a VC game on the Wii U instead of the Wii.
Time to play the original Legend on my 3DS i never played this outside emulators and have never tried to complete it. Im pretty much satisfied.
Looks like they removed Kirby from the rewards page. Some peeps on Reddit said they were getting error msgs when trying to redeem their codes. Hope if comes back - was looking forward to spending some coins.
@KARNOVsSTACHE Well great, that was the only game I didn't already have from the list. I hope they fix it.
Just got off the phone with Nintendo Customer Support. Apparently the Kirby Super Star was mislabeled on the Club Nintendo website, and it was for Wii not WiiU.
I think I have all of these already. Will have to check when I get home though.
Pretty nice month for me - I'm keen on both Kirby Super Star (assuming it comes back and the codes actually work) and Super Punch-Out!! Two new games at no cost to me? That's great news.
Shame that some people don't see anything they like or already own all the games, but the list isn't lacking in quality options. I'm curious about pricing though. Any guesses why Super Punch-Out costs 50 coins more than anything else?
Where are the physical rewards?
ugh. I have Luigi Bros on Wii U, the Kirby Dream Collection, Play Action Football on NES, various versions of SMB and Zelda 1 (including NES cart and 3DS VC), Super Punch Out on SNES, and Pictobits. The only one I don't have in some form is Touch Solitaire, though I do have other Solitaire games similar to it. It's also one I don't care to get as a reward since it's dirt cheap outside of Club Nintendo.
They just cancelled Kirby Super Star. I have suggested before - they should give discounts for eshop instead of giving out games that no one wants. Think about it: $5 off for each 200 coins or something, and maybe allow these $5 to be used for games over $10. Good for their business as I would pay more to buy a more expansive game. I would also be much more keen about Club Nintendo than having Mario Bros (?)
Mario Bros was one of the first games I played on NES and I remember disliking it.
Aww... Hopefully they didn't cancel Kirby for good and it will come back into the lineup. But if it's gone, c'est la vie. They'll probably be another chance in the future.
Why exactly is Super Punch Out 250 coins? And why can they not offer the Wii U version over the Wii Version?
@GreatPlayer - They either need to raise the price to 250 coins or they realized that they are putting it on sale this month and don't want to hurt sales.
I played most of these already, and the others don't interest me at all. Good thing I live in europe
Probably just Mario Bros for me. I have been wanting to play that game again for some time and I have Kirby Superstar on the Kirby A.C. on Wii
@GreatPlayer Cancel Kirby? What the heck? That was the only thing in this list I was even interested in.
Weird, Kirby is gone now? That was the one I was semi-interested in.
@XCWarrior It won't take long to get to the WiiU eShop. The only missing games from NES Virtual Console from Wii to be ported are:
NO this should be wayyy better
I was hoping for something really good to spend the few coins I have on but that's club Nintendo for you always bringing in games to surprise you and having you wait for what u want.
anyone else besides me have over 2000 coins that you're just sitting on waiting for something cool to be released on club nintendo N/A?
@joeb1kenobi wow that's a lot of coins there but i'm sure something will pop up but for me im just going for wii u games as much as possible but im just not seeing anything worth my 500 coin so I have to be picky otherwise I would have gotten the Mario bros game.
Meh. Kirby was the only thing I was interested in and now it's gone. My coins live another day.
Anything worth getting on this list i already have……maybe one day they'll have the DKC Tropical Freeze OST as a reward and i shall be a happy camper.
I'm not seeing Kirby Superstar as an option on the Club Nintendo site....only 6 games available in total...
I don't want to be the guy that complains about free or exclusive stuff but...
I wish they would have a better selection. Or at least bring back som physical gifts. I feel like the same games get offered up in some way or another all the time. Or games that everyone already has, like Legend of Zelda. It just sucks seeing physical rewards in other regions, yet we get nothing. Idk. Ultimately, I just don't want to spend more than a system's worth of coins on a $5 game.
@ThomasBW84: Some people are saying that the Kirby code is for the Wii Shop rather then the eShop and thus will only work on the Wii. Any conformation on this?
They should launch a few new games as temporary Club Nintendo exclusives. Like Super Mario RPG or something else you can get on Wii and not Wii U.
@Tasuki It was listed as Wii U, but has now disappeared completely. I'll ask Nintendo what the heck is going on.
I am very sad now. I was really hoping link to the past would be on here because of hyrule warriors. That and wind waker are the only zelda games that interest me.
Oh looky, there's nothing there!
I somewhat envy 3DS gamers as I would want Zelda 1.
Just spent some money on Eshop to buy Mario 3, which is on promotion. Fun game!
sigh

The Legend of Zelda... again?
These are great game selections... if you don't already have them. I'd rather have something new in physical prizes if this is going to be all that Nintendo constantly (re)offers.
I'd probably get Kirby, Zelda, and Pictobits.
Smh
We need an update in the rewards.. we have hardly any solid rewards that are actually worth it.
Never played the original Zelda, so I'm actually quite excited about this month's selection! Also getting Super Mario Bros. oh, nostalgia
Hey those of you who got the Kirby Super Star, the download codes are working again.
I got Starfox 64 last month (which was good but I can't find out how to save!)
I never played Super Mario Bros or TLOZ which is sad really but I would rather buy those games.
I called Nintendo, instead of a refund they actually fix my download code so it was indeed a Wii U code
I was gonna get Super Punch-Out until I saw it was the Wii version and not the Wii U version. y u do dis nintendo
@Undead_terror Do you have an ambassador 3DS? If so, look at your copy of Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island, it includes an updated port of Mario Bros.
Let's get Super Play Action Football on VC!
I would get Kirby Super Star, but I'm short on coins.
@duffmmann Not a ambassador so....
No more Kirby is upsetting/
i requested kirby's superstar but it says on the eshop, the item you're looking for is not being distributed yet, please try again later :/
@DarkAvenger same here... i called nintendo customer service and told them what happened, and now they're refunding my coins.
From what people on other sites are saying, the codes for KSS are working now. I just hope they re-list it on their CN page.
@Mode7 Really? so there's no kirby's superstar reward? :/
@zipmon That's what I'm thinking of getting. I need to use these dang points too!
I've just checked. Kirby is back.
Meh.
Kirby's back and showing as Wii U.
@DarkAvenger i think there is... but the code that we got works only on the wii shop, not the eshop.
Man no body knows how to do crap deals better than Nintendo!
Kirby for "only" 200 coins (same price as Mario Bros.), I'll take it!
I wish they put Kirby super star on the 3ds VC already. that game is so awesomely fun. XP
This ain't even fair
@Mode7 i tried a few moments ago the code and it's working, i'm downloading kirby's superstar, check it out
Give us the freakin' cute Yoshi plush!
I'm sorry to complain, but 200 coins for a 5 dollar download game is ridiculous. (Especially one as simplistic as "Mario Bros. 1983," which I would've considered for 100 coins.) It'd be "cheaper" just to pay the 5 dollars for it instead. (Nintendo must be seriously trying to discourage Club Nintendo members from getting the download game prizes, which is odd, sense they don't really cost anything anyways.)
Maybe I'm used to the earlier days when they would offer them for much less, (I remember getting "Super Mario Kart" & "Dr. Mario Online RX" for only 100 coins each back when they first started offering download games as rewards 3, or so years ago) but I really hope they stop upping the prices or, they're going to be 400 coins for a download NES/Gameboy games!
Now I regret not getting "Mario Golf" a 5-dollar game for 150 coins last month... It'll probably be 200 or 250 next time it's offered... Oh well, passing on all the prizes this month, as I already have most of 'em anyways. (I will recommend Kirby though. That seems to be the closest thing to a "good deal" this month. Though "Super Punch-Out" is awesome to.)
anyone else notice that one of the Zelda screenshots says the starbomb lyrics : "Its too dangerous to go alone, take this."?
Maybe Nintendo can offer Wii Sports Club with all the sports for 400-500 coins.
@King47
Naw, they are ok, but you dont want them giving away really good games. If they put a $10 buck game on there that is $10 bucks they could have make on an actual purchase. In the end, we want Nintendo making money. Them bringing in the cash means they will continue to produce good products. Though the rewards are never mind blowing, they are still a nice reward to us fans.
@Beau_Skunk
I get what you are saying, but its not like they are ripping you off, the coins are a bonus, not a mandatory feature. However, I do see why you might be frustrated because of the changes.
What @Webby-sama said, Kirby is back at Club Nintendo. It is for Wii U and 200 coins.
@ThomasBW84 Kirby Super Star is back now, and it's definitely Wii U Virtual Console.
I already have Kirby Superstar Ultra... Screw it! I'm not spending these 700 coins anywhere. Think I'll grab Super Punch Out, too.
meh, super punch out for me
Hmm. the only ones that cacth my attention I already owned.
oh well, next month we'll see
Wow, I had 400+ coins expire without even knowing. Club Nintendo is a complete joke.
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRBBBBBBBBBBBBYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@King47
Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing. I love Nintendo, I'll admit I'm a Nintendo fanboy, but holy crap this rewards are god awful Maybe Nintendo doesn't love me as much as I love them T_T LOL
@crzysortagamer
True, the coins are a 'bonus' but they're also the main point of Nintendo's reward program. The value you get for the coins directly influences the value of the program. These rewards don't really 'cost' them anything because they're digital, so even the 'loss' of the sale is likely cheaper than manufactering and distributing physical prizes. They're also older games that had they're time to generate profit, thats why Nintendo staggers VC games in the first place.
You should also consider that to get enogh coins for these rewards you have to buy 4-5 games based on their coin value. Thats $200-$300 for a $10 or less game. Thats 5% at most. For your average consumer that would only be 1-2 rewards a year, plus the gold/platinum one. Less so for physical goodies.
@King47 Yes.
Is it to much to ask to have that cute yoshi plushie come to us?
@Swiket Summed up my feelings perfectly.
@Zombie_Barioth
true, true! good points
Kirby Super Star has gone free at least 10 times already, and yet I miss out on it every time. BUT NOT THIS TIME!!! Imma get that.
MAYBE Art Style: PiCTOBiTS.
Club Nintendo would be a lot...better, simply, if they offered new games as rewards. Because a few virtual console titles ain't cutting it anymore.
Just scored me both Super Mario Bros. and Kirby Super Star. And when I get Super Smash, I'll have enough coins for Super Punch Out! So good lot for me today. XD
Man, I was gonna get Kirby.
I miss the physical awards , this is just really lame .
Pictobits is a ridiculously underrated game. I had to comment just to sing its praise... but @zipmon beat me to it. It's a great puzzle title.
Come on NA,I haven't used my coins in a year now and I would like to spend it sometime...
"once again there are eight downloads that you can pick up with some hard earned coins."
Haha, nope.
I wish that they'd offer eShop credits instead as I already own all of the games that they offer each month.
You've got to be kidding me. Where the heck is Earthbound? I've waiting for that on Club Nintendo!
@Shy_Guy Same here man. Nintendo please just put out some physical stuff for rewards. Please.
They should make more Art Style games. For Wii U.
This is why I stopped registering my games and doing the surveys - _ -
I don't expect them to offer very good rewards, but it would be nice if they didn't offer the same ones year after year.
I've also been using the registration as a direct forum to beg for SNES and GBA games on eShop, but that's obviously gone nowhere...
Super Mario Bros should never be released on Club Nintendo again. How many times has that game been released?! Seriously, wasn't it a Gold reward during July's Club Nintendo rewards? I mean, who here doesn't own Super Mario bros in one form or another? Raise your damn hand if you don't own it...
Also, there was a time a couple of years ago when Majora's Mask was on Club Nintendo and it cost a whooping 150 coins. (Which is a damn good deal.) But today, we have the original Legend of Zelda back on NES for 200 coins... Can we say #Backwards?
I find it frustrating how stuff seems to disappear from the Club Nintendo store right away in the US, yet is still available on JP Club Nintendo.
Is there any sense in complaining anymore?
At this point I have so many coins that I just get whatever they offer. Free coins and sometimes points for the deluxe offer is better than just letting them sit and eventually expire.
That said, unless they offer ALL their games (they've still never offered Yoshi Story, for example, which is a game I'd never pay for) I'm eventually going to run out of games to waste my coins on.
I had already started giving half-hearted, two or three word answers on the surveys after the platinum reward debacle. I think I'm just going to start typing complete nonsense now.
Please tell us in your own words what you thought of the game:
'Auke octane if he yard dang'
Well, this isn't much at all, is it? I guess I'll take Mario Bros. I can play that one for a while, and I think it's a shame that Nintendo Life didn't view it so well in its review.
Why is Super-Punch Out so expensive? I wonder if was Kirby was supposed to be 250 as well...maybe they don't want people to redeem Super-Punch Out so they can stop offering Wii Shop channel downloads (under the reason few claim them).
@Beau_Skunk I think the prices are upped because people can (sadly) afford those prices. The lack of physical goods only furthers that. In part the problem is it is too easy to get coins (for $1 you can have 110 coins, 80 from free Disney Infinity, 30 from America's Test Kitchen from Gamestop), especially with intend to buy, post play and games having ridiculously long expiry times (seems whole systems get expired).
The Japanese and European systems expire games a bit more timely and the points themselves run out sooner (Japanese system also has older releases worth less).
is it just me or are they constantly giving the same games? oO The North American Club Nintendo sure went to hell this year I didn't even bother receiving a Platinum reward cause I already had the games! Nintendo, you need to fix the NA Club Nintendo IMMEDIATELY!!!
Nintendo of America doesn't seem to care about its Club Nintendo fans any more. I've got almost 2,500 coins and nothing worth spending them on (I already own all of these games except the notoriously mediocre NES Play Action Football).
I've been waiting for Radar Mission for over 2 years now, since the first (and apparently) last time they put it on. I was stupid not to get it that time.
Weak.
@hydeks I'll take your Earthbound code
Very very expensive. 5 dlls games for 200 coins, what is next? N64 games for 400 coins?
@MasterWario I think you'll like it! It was the first download I ever got from CN, and I was super happy!
@NImH Agreed! I still bust it out fairly frequently, can't get enough of the music!
If anyone is donating their coins for this, I'd really appreciate a copy of the timeless Super Mario Bros or The Legend of Zelda (3DS). I'd pick them but I ran short of coins last month
