Re: Nintendo Talks Maintaining Momentum And More Announcements Coming This Year

GoldenGamer88

Switch has plenty of smaller and Nindie games. I'm literally drowning in them. But none of them really stand out to me and none are that great so far tbh. I was discussing GotY contenders with friends two days ago and all I came up with was Octo Expansion. Doesn't mean there weren't many games releasing on Switch but none have had the lasting impact or quality Octo Expansion had imho.
I think a major mistake for em was to focus so damn much on Smash. If you look at how many games they showed off in that compilation, they could've easily showed off more of each of them and been like 'Look at DBFZ! Look at Ark Survival Evolved! Look at Octopath! Look at Valkyria Chronicles 4!' but nah. Let's brush em off like they were nothing but go into every tiny little Detail how each and every fighter in Smash changed!

Re: Crash Bandicoot Is The Fastest Selling Switch Game In 2018 As It Rockets To UK Number One

GoldenGamer88

@JaxonH My point is not so much to say 'Oh, it's a remaster therefore it should sell badly' but moreso that the fact that no other physically released Switch game has outsold Crash. Sure, we've just began the second half of 2018 but this year's been severly lacking in heavyhitters. That is the sad part.

But it is nice to see a third party doing as good as it is in the UK of all places.

Re: Review: Mario Tennis Aces (Switch)

@MrPerson0 Games re-use Assets, let alone game engines, all the time to cut down on dev time and costs. And guess what? They often come out as vastly different experiences. Majora and New Vegas have already been pointed out to you. Do you call these games ports as well?
But sure, Aces is re-using Marina Stadium and a buncha assets. However, has Ultra Smash featured all those other characters and stages? A true online experience? An Adventure Mode for crying outloud? No! So how we're even coming close to calling this a port is beyond me. Since ports are very often 1:1 experiences nowadays and often only include some adjustments and additions like Tropical Freeze or Hyrule Warriors.

Re: Shadowgun Legends Is Bringing Free To Play FPS Action To Switch

@R4z0rGr1nd3r A. Rude B. I have not stated fact but opinion. C. I'd rather buy a game and don't have microtransactions shoved in my face at every turn (yes, I'm a rare kind, I know). D. Yes, mobile games can be fun. I'm not saying they can't be. I'm not saying that because of graphics. I'm saying it because mobile games' microtransactions are usually pretty invasive to the enjoyment of games. At least in my opinion.
But I am free to let my opinion be changed by a review of the game.

Re: Masahiro Sakurai Notes That Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Could Be The Last In The Series

I'd be down for that. Because really - with this much content, you'd inevitably have to cut down on it.

Now what I could see happening is this version receiving content updates every now and again for ... basically the rest of eternity. Just port it whenever a new console arrives with all the contents added thus far. I can't see graphics getting any better as they already are so that shouldn't be an issue.
