Re: Review: Bayonetta 2 (Switch)

GoldenGamer88

@th3r3ds0x I wholeheartedly agree. I‘d even dare to claim it my favorite console ever. I mean, I can play the best indies known to man, frickin beautiful games like Bayonetta, Mario Kart 8 or Breath of the Wild wherever I want. This is something PS and Xbox need to catch up on but all they care is how much res their games have and how many teraflops.

Re: Review: Bayonetta 2 (Switch)

GoldenGamer88

@therealgamer Oh pardon me, my good sir, but just because these games released last year doesn‘t mean they poofed out of existence and couldn‘t be bought by future Switch owners. Also, Kirby Star Allies, Mario Tennis Aces, Yoshi, Fire Emblem, Metroid Prime 4, Bayonetta 3 and Pokemon are all known to be coming to Switch either this or next year. Also, we‘re in February and Nintendo‘s only given us a schedule up until May so calm down and drink some tea.
Also, excuse me but I did buy all those games when they were released on WiiU - Mario Kart 8, Pokken, DKCTF, Bayonetta 1 and 2 and lots more. WiiU flopped big time so why not bring these games over to Switch to give them a. a second chance for people who rightfully didn‘t invest in a WiiU and b. make some extra cash from people double-dipping on them, like I do? Also, I‘ve never said I‘d rather have ports than new games. Ports take less work and do have an audience, again given the WiiU‘s failure. I doubt they take large resources away from the development of newer releases.

Re: Review: Bayonetta 2 (Switch)

GoldenGamer88

@therealgamer Breath of the Wild, ARMS, Splatoon 2, Fire Emblem Warriors, Kirby Star Allies, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Mario Odyssey are ports? Every console gets ports and considering Switch already overtook WiiU in hardware sales, they have every right to give these great games a second chance on Switch. I‘d say keep‘em coming!

Re: Video: How Overwatch Helped A Street Fighter Legend Overcome His Hatred Of Video Games

GoldenGamer88

@TheMadPolarBear "...whilst the unranked playlists (quickplay in Overwatch) are for when/people who just want to have fun and not care about ranks "

And this is EXACTLY why I have only ever played Quick Play or the Arcade and have never nor will ever touch comp. And yet the crybabies who get ticked off when they lose, follow.

Also, I believe it's important to point out that just because I don't play the meta or go with popular choices, I wouldn't try to win. I do - whilst playing as whoever I want for as long as things work out and I feel useful to my team. Also note that, like I pointed out many replies above, I am often the one bowing down for the team and go with a protective Tank or Healer just so others can play their Hanzos and Meis.

Re: Video: How Overwatch Helped A Street Fighter Legend Overcome His Hatred Of Video Games

GoldenGamer88

@NEStalgia That's really well put.

I feel like online multiplayer games should be fun no matter the outcome of a match. If I become competitive and obsessed with winning, I will eventually drive myself mad to the point that every victory feels like the prolonging of the inevitable loss. Then it's clearly time to take a break from the game. It's happened to me with Overwatch, it happened to me in Splatoon 1. That's why I try to have fun no matter the outcome. In Splatoon, this works. In a team-based system like Overwatch, it likely won't with too many people trying to find fun in their own way.

Re: Video: How Overwatch Helped A Street Fighter Legend Overcome His Hatred Of Video Games

GoldenGamer88

@Saego Having avoided comp like the plague, I obviously don't have a rank. Working together with incompetence incarnate can be frustrating, that counts for Overwatch, Splatoon, COD, pretty much any online game, trust me, I know exactly how that feels. But I'd still rather let the guy have fun playing as Mercy than tell him to change. It's all about having fun, right? In all the different forms fun comes in. And if another's fun gets in the way of your own, it's up you what to do. You can tell him to change. Or you could let him be and leave after the match, like I'd rather do.

Re: Video: How Overwatch Helped A Street Fighter Legend Overcome His Hatred Of Video Games

GoldenGamer88

@Saego I realize that and I am well aware what hero works best in which situation. I am often the one to pick a tank or healer so others can play whoever they want. But it's the constant 'Orisa? No, go Rein!' 'Zen, go Ana!' that just annoy me to no end. I will change when I feel I don't do enough for the team. But please leave it to MY decision when to change and to who. What's sense of victory when the road there is full of crybabies and playing characters who are 'better' than others, anyway?

Re: Next Week's European Splatfest Is All About Gherkins

GoldenGamer88

@NaviAndMii So we are. As with every Splatfest, I‘d like to get a team together and do some team matches but considering next weekend‘ll be busy on my part, I can‘t tell when I‘ll have time to play. I‘ll likely try and get to Queen Saturday evening to early night. Who needs sleep, right?

Re: Next Week's European Splatfest Is All About Gherkins

GoldenGamer88

Get these gherkins out of my burger! Loads of onions, too, for that matter! And the oceans of ketchup and mustard most chefs put on burgers these days! Disgusting! .... sorry, I‘m just very picky when it comes to sandwiches of any kind.

Hope, I‘ll find time to reach Queen. Am scheduled to shoot parts of my short film that weekend.

Re: Capcom Explains (Again) Why Monster Hunter World Isn't Coming To Switch

GoldenGamer88

@Dan_Dan Patience is a virtue, you know? There‘s never been a console in the history of forever to release all of its big heavyhitters in the first year (unless it failed miserably lol). Switch‘s launch year was a phenomenal one and you‘re complaining it doesn‘t have Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Smash Bros. and so on yet? We already know Pokémon and Metroid are coming, with Pocket Camp on Mobile, a new AC on Switch is a given. Switch had heavyhitters in 2017 in the form of Odyssey and BotW, 2018, 2019 and so on will most certainly have them as well.

As for Monster Hunter, World is Capcom‘s focus right now. You as a company would want it to sell as good as humanly possible, right? So talking about a MH game other than World would steal its thunder. Also, I think a large amount of publishers announce games when they are, you know, closer to being done, and not like 'Oh hey, guys, sorry, we don‘t have a Monster Hunter on Switch yet but we‘re bringing one in 2020, I hope'. I mean, it took 4 years for World to being done and when was that announced? E3 2017, three years after the development began and little more than six months before its launch.

Re: The Iconic Danger Mouse Comes To Switch With The Danger Games

GoldenGamer88

Wanted to comment on how the original Danger Mouse was the first for tv produced cartoon but that honor actually belongs to Crusader Rabbit. Looking deeper into it, I think my confusion stems from how the Rabbit‘s creator‘s uncle founded an animation studio and created Mighty Mouse. Ah well, can‘t see how Danger Mouse is iconic then. Never heard of it. Continue to drag his legacy through the mud as long as you want, guys, this looks like garbage.

Re: Capcom Explains (Again) Why Monster Hunter World Isn't Coming To Switch

GoldenGamer88

Having finally conquered my fear of Kelbi (yes, Kelbi, I'm aware I'm pathetic), I am really looking forward to dipping my toes into the series this Friday. Would I prefer it on Switch? Yes, but hot damn, does this game look beautiful on a PS4 Pro!

Switch will get a true MH with a westerm release. It's an inevitability given its sucess worldwide.

Re: Reggie On The Future Of Nintendo Labo Regarding Third Parties

GoldenGamer88

@jsty3105 Labo is aimed at children, this has always been clear to me. But as any product should, Switch aims to appeal to the broadest audience possible, including teens and adults. Coming off from two consoles that were mostly seen as toys and child‘s play, having a product this strictly appeal to young children may put a few scratches into Switch‘s perception as a cool and slick piece of tech, especially if Labo‘s success leads to a stronger focus on it.

Re: Reggie On The Future Of Nintendo Labo Regarding Third Parties

GoldenGamer88

@electrolite77 I‘m aware of this and I hope this is the route they continue to go with Switch no matter how successful Labo might be. With the Direct Mini only showing off Kirby and now Labo‘s kids focus, I‘m just not convinced of Nintendo‘s 2018 plans in terms of first party content yet. We know of Yoshi as well but that‘s it. All of the rest is third party and ports. Do I expect them to hit as hard as last year? No way. But something bigger like a Smash 4 port, a real systemseller, would‘ve been nice. But that was only a Direct Mini, we‘ll definitely see more in June at E3 and during fall and all my worries will have been for nothing. Maybe it‘s also just that Monster Hunter World is coming and Ni No Kuni II, too, and none of these announcements can’t really get me as excited as these two titles.

Re: Reggie On The Future Of Nintendo Labo Regarding Third Parties

GoldenGamer88

@Anti-Matter The hardware sales figures MIGHT care what the Switch is thought of as. Just look at WiiU and how that did. It looked like toy, was advertised as being played by kids. And then see how Switch with its adult-oriented ads, slick design and games basically smashed WiiU‘s life-time sales. It‘s ALL about how you‘re being perceived in the world of advertising.

Re: Reggie On The Future Of Nintendo Labo Regarding Third Parties

GoldenGamer88

@Anti-Matter It‘s not that I‘m worried about others judging me for playing pretty much whatever. It‘s often the perception that gaming consoles, particularly the ones made by Nintendo, are perceived as toys, as child‘s play and aren‘t that attractive to teens or adults who don‘t console or pc game like we do, who mobile game if at all. And after the toy-looking Wii and WiiU with their family/kids-focused ads, the Switch comes along with its ads showing adults playing what is a very slick and smartphone/tablet-looking piece of tech. That and the Switch‘s mobility are what‘s driving the console itself in my eyes. And then comes Nintendo Labo with its focus on kids. Now mind you, this is not an issue on its own but it might just be a first step towards cooling down what‘s made Switch so popular, towards making the Switch look like a child‘s toy, too, and thus diminishing sales from non-gaming adults.

But then again, I was also very worried about Nintendo putting all their eggs into one basket by combining home console and handheld and look how that turned out. As always I wish Nintendo nothing but the best it could do.

Re: Hands On: The Future Of Gaming Is Cardboard, Thanks To Nintendo Labo

GoldenGamer88

Been thinking about it and reading through most of the comments on this article over the past 45 minutes.

I am clearly too old for this. But does this take away from the fact that this is a very creative and Nintendo thing to do? Not in the slightest. I am unsure, however, that the target demographic will care much about this and won't break one of those constructions one way or another. I wish to be proven wrong, though, because this is simply ingenious and could very well be a series in of itself.

Re: Hands On: The Future Of Gaming Is Cardboard, Thanks To Nintendo Labo

GoldenGamer88

Video ends - 'What the heck did I just watch?'

Sorry, Nintendo, but this is really only something for little kids. I doubt my 10 years old cousin would sit herself down and fold cardboard. And then where do I put these so they won't break after a while? Or are broken by kids as they use them? I mean, I'mma get it but it'll be more of a collector's item type thing to me, like those Classic Editions.
