Re: Oxenfree Comes to the North American eShop on 6th October

Even if I had a Xbone and Gold (both of which I do, don't ask why, I don't know either), I'd happily pay 20€ or so to play it on Switch. Now, I may be a known and self-admited Switch Lover and while yes, the Xbone S, and even the X, are good looking pieces of hardware, the complete design of the home menu, the store and everything else is simply so clunky and hideous, I hate even launching it, let alone play something there. MS would have to pay me to play something there that isn't Banjo, Tooie or Viva Piñata.

Edit: Maybe that's why I absolutely hated playing Yooka-Laylee and gave up in the second world? Sure, the game had other problems but maybe those were worsened by terrible choice of platform.

Re: Super Mario Kart Nearly Became F-Zero 2

It'd certainly be interesting to see how things could've gone if it wasn't for the SNES's technical limitations. Like would F-ZERO still be around if Mario Kart wasn't a thing? As interesting as pondering such a question may be, there's no sense in doing so. At the end, I'm glad things turned out the way they did. With Mario Party pretty much out of the picture, Mario Kart is definitely the most played local multiplayer series in my household with MK8D being the whole family's favorite.

Re: Reggie on How Nintendo Handles Announcements and Responds to Fan Input

GoldenGamer88

@NEStalgia Of course, it makes sense, and I am by no means knocking Reggie for what he said. And of course, there are companies out there who are way worse than Nintendo ever was. Square for example, Sony during their E3 presentations. I just find it sad that Prime 4 and a (potentially) Pokemon mainline title on Switch had to be "announced" this soon and not via a trailer next E3 or so. But the only one to blame there are whiny gamers (to whom I belong to at times), not Reggie or anyone at Nintendo.

By them better framing the conversation, he means announcing Prime 4, that may or may not come in 2018, at E3 so fans wouldn't cry and moan over Samus Returns releasing for 3DS rather than Switch, right? Same with how they forced that TPC guy into the presentation announcing that Pokemon rpg for Switch so people would stop complaining about USUM's shallowness? Yeah, we like to announce stuff when's ready and not years away from its actual launch.

Re: Nintendo Download: 21st September (Europe)

Already got Pokken at a local mall today and just played a few matches. I may be a complete fighting game noob (inspire what my profile icon might suggest, I just love that Black Manta outro) who just presses buttons but it's fun, which it wasn't somehow back on WiiU.

Also downloaded SteamWorld Dig 2. Got the first one during a Steam Sale but have yet to buy. It's quite fun and reminds me of exploring caves back when I started playing Minecraft. You know, the sense of wonder and adventure. I somewhat feel an urge of completing it.

Oh, and the boxed versions of Gold and Silver are on their way. Usually, I'd hope the mailman ain't late as he always is but I have zero desire to actually play them so shrugs

Re: Caveman Warriors is Bringing Multiplayer Mayhem to the Switch eShop

GoldenGamer88

Dang, from the video thumbnail I thought it was a game in a top down perspective with an artstyle of Stardew Valley mixed with Animaniacs and a Hunter and Gatherer type of gameplay where the survival of the tribe needs to be secured from day to day. And they'd slowly evolve into tool-wielding early humans and such. But oh no, it's the one billionth platformer. Really wishing for some variety in those Nindie releases. That's not to say it'd look bad (it looks alright) but I'm rather disappointed.

Re: Feature: Looking Back On Enhanced Versions Of Pokémon Games

GoldenGamer88

As somebody who's been an avid Pokémon fan since pretty much I can remember, it just feels weird to me to absolutely not care about these two installments. I think it comes down to a mix of not having finished any of my two attempts of beating SM (I trained 60+ Pokemon so it took me roughly 300 hours to get to Exeggutor Island and I just couldn't anymore, I was sick of it, the games are much better than XY were. When I play US, I'll definitely limit myself to 10 top) and my neglect of anything 3DS since Switch launched rather than them just being enhanced versions. I know it may take more work but could you imagine how these two would look if they were on Switch? I'd be definitely excited then.

Edit: Also, it ticked me off that my Brettina was ever so slightly smaller than Lillie. I mean, shouldn't we be the same size? Lol

Re: Toys 'R' Us Seeks Bankruptcy Protection in North America

GoldenGamer88

Like I already said in the forums, never had fond memories of Toys R Us. There's only one in like a 60 minutes drive area and the shop assistants there aren't very friendly. Plus, they'd only keep the game boxes on store shelves, without the game inside. I understand it's for safe keeping but there's just nothing like freeing a game from its plastic wrapping. It's like getting a present except you know what's inside.
