Lifes never mattered much in 3D Marios anyway. It‘s not like in the early SMBs where you couldn’t save whenever and wherever you wanted. Especially now with the open world design of Odyssey, dropping the Lifes System feels like the right call.
I have no issues with the Switch's eShop. Its look fits the Switch's simplistic home menu design pretty well. I'd maybe add an option for searching a game after genre and a category for this week's discounts.
This will inevitably crash and burn like the Ratchet & Clank and Assassin's Creed movies. I mean, CGI/Live Action. Doesn't this scream Smurfs to you? At least it's outside Sony's claws now.
Sure looks unique but does that count for its gameplay as well would be the better question. Got one too many 2D platformers in my backlog for a genre I don't like all that much.
@FlashFan207 Sure is, it's his outro. Always wanted Black Manta in Injustice 1 and when he was a stage transition in 2, I feared all hope was lost. Neither Aquaman nor Black Manta get the appreciation that they deserve.
Was asked at GameStop to pay the full price months in advance to actually preorder. No thanks, the only way I'd ever get one is when I wonder into a store and see it laying there. Already got all the SNES games I'd ever need on WiiU.
@abbyhitter Because I get every game I am interested in the day it releases. Also, Dynasty Warriors games are huge fun to me, they just can't compare to Mario, though. Also, never heard of a B2G1 deal nor am I getting Skyrim.
Even if I had a Xbone and Gold (both of which I do, don't ask why, I don't know either), I'd happily pay 20€ or so to play it on Switch. Now, I may be a known and self-admited Switch Lover and while yes, the Xbone S, and even the X, are good looking pieces of hardware, the complete design of the home menu, the store and everything else is simply so clunky and hideous, I hate even launching it, let alone play something there. MS would have to pay me to play something there that isn't Banjo, Tooie or Viva Piñata.
Edit: Maybe that's why I absolutely hated playing Yooka-Laylee and gave up in the second world? Sure, the game had other problems but maybe those were worsened by terrible choice of platform.
It'd certainly be interesting to see how things could've gone if it wasn't for the SNES's technical limitations. Like would F-ZERO still be around if Mario Kart wasn't a thing? As interesting as pondering such a question may be, there's no sense in doing so. At the end, I'm glad things turned out the way they did. With Mario Party pretty much out of the picture, Mario Kart is definitely the most played local multiplayer series in my household with MK8D being the whole family's favorite.
Good, a MvC without the X-Men or Doc Doom ain't a MvC. The playable appearances of Thanos, Venom and Ultron made me a tad interested but I stand with my choice of boycotting this game. Stupid Marvel/Disney with their agenda against Fox.
Lalala, I can neither hear you, Alex, nor see your beautiful spoilery video.
I may not care as much about spoilers as other people do but watching gameplay just hurts my heart. Trailers are fine but watching gameplay videos reminds me that there are people out there who've already played the game.
@NEStalgia Of course, it makes sense, and I am by no means knocking Reggie for what he said. And of course, there are companies out there who are way worse than Nintendo ever was. Square for example, Sony during their E3 presentations. I just find it sad that Prime 4 and a (potentially) Pokemon mainline title on Switch had to be "announced" this soon and not via a trailer next E3 or so. But the only one to blame there are whiny gamers (to whom I belong to at times), not Reggie or anyone at Nintendo.
See, TPC, now was that so hard to give us an actually informative trailer? You did it all the time with SM, don't know what's gotten into you with this. Anyway, surfing between the islands sounds awesome.
By them better framing the conversation, he means announcing Prime 4, that may or may not come in 2018, at E3 so fans wouldn't cry and moan over Samus Returns releasing for 3DS rather than Switch, right? Same with how they forced that TPC guy into the presentation announcing that Pokemon rpg for Switch so people would stop complaining about USUM's shallowness? Yeah, we like to announce stuff when's ready and not years away from its actual launch.
Picked it up at launch but aside from a quick first look, I haven't started really playing it now that I am no longer playing Spla2n as much. Currently in the middle of Sherbet Desert, gotta start thinking my moves through now. For a strategy game, it's rather fun and really funny at times.
Already got Pokken at a local mall today and just played a few matches. I may be a complete fighting game noob (inspire what my profile icon might suggest, I just love that Black Manta outro) who just presses buttons but it's fun, which it wasn't somehow back on WiiU.
Also downloaded SteamWorld Dig 2. Got the first one during a Steam Sale but have yet to buy. It's quite fun and reminds me of exploring caves back when I started playing Minecraft. You know, the sense of wonder and adventure. I somewhat feel an urge of completing it.
Oh, and the boxed versions of Gold and Silver are on their way. Usually, I'd hope the mailman ain't late as he always is but I have zero desire to actually play them so shrugs
That'll be the third time I'd be getting Half Genie Hero. My brain writes we'll see but my guts tell me I'mma get it anyway. Fingers crossed it even comes to PAL regions.
Dang, from the video thumbnail I thought it was a game in a top down perspective with an artstyle of Stardew Valley mixed with Animaniacs and a Hunter and Gatherer type of gameplay where the survival of the tribe needs to be secured from day to day. And they'd slowly evolve into tool-wielding early humans and such. But oh no, it's the one billionth platformer. Really wishing for some variety in those Nindie releases. That's not to say it'd look bad (it looks alright) but I'm rather disappointed.
This is slowly but surely developing into a Kingdom Hearts 3 situation. What I mean is, that I only start to believe they are working on the true FF15 on Switch when I have the thing in my own hands. Until then, I believe Square nothing. Much better for your gamer health.
This is so incredibly touching and something only a company, no a family like Nintendo could ever do. If my Switch didn't already have the nickname of my dead pet bird who died last March at the high age of 10, I'd name my Switch Satoru Iwata. You'll always be in our hearts!
As somebody who's been an avid Pokémon fan since pretty much I can remember, it just feels weird to me to absolutely not care about these two installments. I think it comes down to a mix of not having finished any of my two attempts of beating SM (I trained 60+ Pokemon so it took me roughly 300 hours to get to Exeggutor Island and I just couldn't anymore, I was sick of it, the games are much better than XY were. When I play US, I'll definitely limit myself to 10 top) and my neglect of anything 3DS since Switch launched rather than them just being enhanced versions. I know it may take more work but could you imagine how these two would look if they were on Switch? I'd be definitely excited then.
Edit: Also, it ticked me off that my Brettina was ever so slightly smaller than Lillie. I mean, shouldn't we be the same size? Lol
Like I already said in the forums, never had fond memories of Toys R Us. There's only one in like a 60 minutes drive area and the shop assistants there aren't very friendly. Plus, they'd only keep the game boxes on store shelves, without the game inside. I understand it's for safe keeping but there's just nothing like freeing a game from its plastic wrapping. It's like getting a present except you know what's inside.
I am really thinking about going digital on this one. Not because I like having it always on my console but because I can download it at midnight and don't have to wait until roughly 3 PM until I went to university, did my courses, got to the store, drove home.

Re: Nintendo's Official UK Store Opens Pre-Orders on Poké Ball New Nintendo 2DS XL
I might just preorder it at GameStop. Would buy the fourth 3DS I bought.
Re: No Heroes Here to Bring Chaotic Castle Defence to the Switch in 2018
Looks quite interesting, though, at first glance at the headline, I read something about No More Heroes and was getting excited.

This is the stupidest theme they could've went with. Hmm ... maybe Jake Paul vs. Logan Paul could be worse.
Re: Review: Golf Story (Switch eShop)
Glad I've made the purchase last night. Had just enough credit left to buy it. Looking forward to playing it next week when it's back to university.
Re: The Tenta Brella is Your New Splatoon 2 Weapon This Weekend
@FlashFan207 @erv The Heavy Splatling Deco has it as well.
Re: SteamWorld Dig 2 Gets a Hot New HOME Screen Icon
You can be sarcastic about it all you want but you gotta admit, it sticks out like a sore thumb inbetween all those other icons.
Re: The Tenta Brella is Your New Splatoon 2 Weapon This Weekend
Gonna try it out because what else would I do with my money? Not much of a Brella user, doubt I'll use it much.
Re: Nintendo Download: 28th September (Europe)
Nothing on a Nintendo system for me but Cuphead on Xbox.

Re: Digital Foundry Explores the Framerate and a Resolution Boost in Super Mario Odyssey
A month and whole six days at university to go. Already set the alarm clock on my phone to October 27, 0:00. Gotta finish Mario + Rabbids before then.

@Elanczewski Sub meh, special yay! Thanks for the info, anyway.
Re: Splatoon 2's Latest Weapon Is The Rapid Blaster Pro
The only Blaster I'd ever willingly lay my hands on is they Rapid Blaster. Anyone know what sub and special it comes with? Are the stats different?
