Been rolling through Adventure mode on New Game + lately. In moderation, its still compelling.

@Northwind Hope you managed to get them all in the end. Fortunately the game prioritises spirits you don't have in the spirit board so with a handful of logins I had the complete set.

Yeah makes sense. I didn't think they could actually appear randomly, though. I gave up on trying to make them appear and just logged on for a couple of minutes every hour for however many hours I needed. Correct me if I'm wrong but they also appear more than once a day, right? Haven't missed a spirit yet despite all the things I have going on in life. Portable mode is my friend.

@Northwind Those Smash events are literally minutes of work. I love them but they're never time consuming.

Reading this review got me excited to play these games again. Lack of multi-player is a tad disappointing but here's hoping it really does get implemented later on. See you soon Minsc and Boo.

I solo played this many, many times to completion on the 360. I think it depends on how much enjoyment you get out of the genre. Having said that, I've probably drained the well dry as I can't see myself going back to it.

I'm perfectly fine with this. So many important video game characters that they could be including instead. Guybrush Threepwood for Smash!

It's a solid 7 for me. Love the Gamecube game and I think the N64 one is great. Fantastic review, though.

Joe and Mac for me at the moment. Never played it before and it seems so far to be a competent platformer.

I get that. I wasn't a Nintendo kid since just before the Gamecube when I bought an N64. (Amiga for life). None of these games hold any sense of nostalgia for me, but I've owned half of them since the Wii and the other half since the Wii U.

Don't get me wrong, though. I love the service. I'm just hoping it's an external love.

That's fair. I was probably a little cynical in my comment. I just opened the app yesterday and saw a whole bunch of games that I already own on Wii and Wii U, but I still feel like its something I'll look forward to every month or so when something new gets released.

I think for me personally, I couldn't fathom wanting to start Super Mario World again for the who-know-how-many-times. There's so many games of that era I haven't played and I'd be much more interested in those lesser known titles, especially when I'm not paying for them individually. This kind of subscription service is perfect for B tier releases.

Ah I didn't get much into Street Pass, personally. But, they could surely implement something akin to Street Pass somewhere down the line while keeping NESFlix.

I just want more obscure games, to be honest. Do we really need to play Super Mario World, A Link to the Past, or Super Metroid again?

Mine just has an issue where it tells me I’m out of battery even when it’s charged. I love my Switch but I’m disappointed with how delicate it seems to be.

Ehhh if I buy one DLC, I buy ‘em all anyway. Especially when the draw is an expanded roster. I’m still not convinced my Breath of the Wild DLC was entirely worth it.

Okay this month is totally worth it for the rewind feature. Now NESflix will feel like the SEGA Megadrive Collection but for the NES. Once I have a break in my games catalogue, I’ll spend a hundred hours (fifty hours?) looking at all the NES games available.

Not necessarily. Maybe just check in with the server when possible to make sure the clock hasn’t been fiddled with.

Hoping this means that time is managed by an online server and not the console’s clock.

I play couch multiplayer mostly. But if I play online I EXCLUSIVELY play with friends. This isn’t a dealbreaker but it’s definitely a disappointment.

Ouch. Controversial opinion it seems. When it comes to perversions, I’ll take sex and nudity over violence any day.

I never play games for the story but there’s admittedly a feeling of FOMO here. I’m more disappointed that this game wasn’t the continuation of Transformed that I was hoping for (please, keep up the video reviews, by the way).

@Heavyarms55 It’s pretty heavily instance based so you get the entire open world in free-to-play. Level 1-30 (which is the maximum anyway). When I used to play it I think you could get up to a couple of tiers of armour in the end game but then you couldn’t get any further. It’s been a long while though so I might be wrong. The game was all about the post 30 gear grind.

Would be nice to start again with a community that hasn’t yet been corrupted by the DPS race. Well... at least for a couple of months until they get pulled to the dark side.

As much as I’d rather these games all bundled in a big compilation, I do love this game. One of my favourite games of all time. Plus, I just beat Dragon Trap so my body is ready.

I don’t think I could go back to playing this without pointer controls.

I’ve put more than 100 hours into it and I’ve still not touched most of the RPGs. It has completely changed how I want my retro games. Give me big compilations at a decent price and I’m sold.

Yep! Single player and local multiplayer for me. I haven’t even touched Smash Bros. online mode but I’ve spent 100 hours in single player. The whole “I don’t know why someone would do x” is so conceited.

I agree. Graphics might be the first thing I notice, but they are also the first thing I forget about.

It’s great that someone can have an artistic vision and people can force them to abandon it. So... great... 🙄

That mini game was the worst. I felt so out-of-touch with the general consensus on Mass Effect 2. I played through the first one 5 times. The sequel was such a letdown for me.

Still trying to get through all these Mega Drive games on the SEGA Collection!

The first time I played this was on the Wii’s VC, as an adult, so I don’t have deep nostalgia for Gain Ground. But, at that time I thought it was great.
I think it might appeal to people who like their games to be interesting and quirky. If you prefer the most refined but formulaic mechanics in your games then maybe it’s not for you.

I’d honestly just rather a Bitmap Brothers collection with save states, button mapping and rewind features. Leave the assets intact. Basically the Sega Mega Drive Collection but for the Amiga.

After the Megadrive Collection, I’d prefer if these were all on one compilation at a reasonable price.

What console game did you work on?

I just wish I could rearrange the roster screen to sort by franchise.

Had to check the date to see if it was April 1st already. I love old games (currently playing Sword of Vermilion on SEGA Megadrive Classics), but these probably will be difficult to go back to.

Played through a bunch of the old Dizzy games on Amiga just recently. There’s something about that formula that I really connect with. The spin-off games... not so much.

Holy wow! So glad I held off buying these on GOG a little while back. Almost every game here is totally worth replaying.

@kurtasbestos Haha. I really don’t have a lot of free time and mostly play on my lunch break at work. The board tries to give you spirits that you don’t have in your inventory so I just went for the novices first (a battle a minute) and then worked my way up from there. Didn’t summon until I stopped getting new spirits on the board.

Ahh... too late! I think I’ve already gotten all the spirit board spirits.

@Sac_instead Don’t get me wrong. I like the online service (except that it doesn’t work for Smash for me). But Joy Mech Fight In Japan only is a savage burn.

@TsC_Xanatos Definitely bummed about not getting Joy Mech Fight. I don’t need to play Zelda II ever again but Joy Mech Fight has always intrigued me.

@GammaPhonic It gets pretty cheap if you can pitch in for a family plan with friends.

Enjoying Nesflix so far and I’m glad it’s not just the IPs that I’ve played through before. Looking forward to two out of three this month.
