Re: Talking Point: Moving To Smartphones Is Not The Answer For Nintendo

FineLerv

I actually want Nintendo to use smartphones to augment the experience of Wii U games. I'd love to play some trivial grass-cutting mini-game on my phone and then take it home to link to my Wii U to earn rupees in my Zelda save game.

Basically, let me do stuff in the line at the bus stop that I don't want to waste time doing at home.

@DiSTANToblivion "I like my Wii U, no knowledge of how much they make or don't make will change that. Since when did we all become so concerned with numbers and figures? Remember the time when we all just enjoyed playing games and didn't let any of this news become relevant to us gamers? This should be more important to companies etc. Why should we even care if we're are still just having a good time playing games?"

I think these articles are just an invite for the armchair experts to come out in droves. Come get me when there's something interesting on the Internet. Meantime I'm gonna keep on playing my Wii U.

@ledreppe "It's not that I'm/We're anti-download, it's just that we all probably want (cheaper) physical copies of SM3DW, so there's no point in choosing the digital vote! "

Oh I totally understand that! But, that's actually why I want the vote removed. Basically people have legitimate reasons for not wanting to get the digital version of retail games; but the vote distorts the data so that we can't see at a glance the actual percentage of people buying each game. Better yet, just make the vote targeted at everyone, digital or otherwise. That way we can all just vote Mario, whichever format we buy it on!

Again... DATA corrupted by the anti-download brigade. Get rid of the "nothing for me" vote, please! ^_^

I've never played the Wii U VC game... sounds interesting!

I wonder if Edge will come to Aus this week...

@spinthelights "Did anyone find it a bit offputting that there is an add for another game (Toki Tori 2+) right on the front menu of a paid game? It's like trailers they stick in retail Blu-Rays."

I see your point but whatever Two Tribes needs to do to stay in the Wii U business is fine by me. I want more of their games on my console! Besides, I see it more as a "you like this game, you might also like this other game we did!"

Re: Nintendo Download: 21st November (Europe)

I wish they wouldn't put a "nothing for me" option. It's hard to get an accurate comparison of the popularity of each offering when the DATA is corrupted by the anti-digital brigade. At least make the vote say "Nothing for me but I still buy digital".

@BF-Medic "If the Final Fight games have the same promo that Street Fighter had, then I will definitely get all of those."

Totally! Seems like a missed opportunity. Hopefully we'll see the sale at a later date.

Re: Nintendo UK Looking To Raise Awareness Of Wii U With Tesco Campaign

Either way, the uniformed audience (dads who buy consoles for their kids) that I know don't know what a Wii U is ("it's a portable?" "It's a controller for the Wii?") but these guys are just people who crack their consoles anyway and just pirate games for their children. The uninformed audience is irrelevant. Consoles need the 12 year olds to thrive - and 12 year olds want Halo nowadays.

I'm still not sure why it's suddenly become an issue whether a console is popular or not. I didn't buy my PS thinking "Boy, I sure hope this console sells well"; I bought it because there were games I wanted to play. Same with the Wii U.

If there's games you want to play then buy the console and let Nintendo worry about marketting and sales figures. If there's not, go on a Nintendo Enthusiast site and complain in the comments. Or grow up. Whichever works for you.
