@KingdomHeartsFan @Devlind No the trilogy has been available for years on the other consoles. The Legacy edition released on PS4/XB1 last summer & includes all 4 Ninja Storm games+DLC.
The trilogy is a last gen port, whereas UNS4 is a PS4/XB1 game, so there may be technical issues. Also the entire Legacy Edition is over 60GB on PS4 so may be they're having to do separate releases.
@MajorasLapdog For someone that claims to not be bothered, you seem to be bothered.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Don’t know why you get as much stick as you do. I’d miss half the games coming to Switch if it wasn’t for your posts in the forums & your posts are always informative.
Wow you guys got this weeks charts out surprisingly fast. What gives ?
Bayonetta 2 was pretty much sold out in my town. I found out the hard way... Ordered a copy from Amazon though, which arrived yesterday. Can’t wait to get stuck in after work today .
@shani There’s finally enough gamer outrage against greedy publishers that we’re finally starting to see some real change on a legislative level. The EA originals initiative is nothing more than a veiled act of philanthropy. It’s their justification for using micro transactions to fund these titles.
Fe is just an unfortunate casualty. I’m hardly going to be worse off for not playing it.
Some people need to seriously chill out and go play some video games. Don't fret over things out of your control, let the chips fall where they may.
If XX gets ported cool. If not go play something else.
MH World on Switch ain't happening. It's just not possible on Switch, when my PS4 kicks into overdrive the second I boot up the game. Anyone that's played the game for more than 10 hours can attest to that.
@Anti-Matter Don’t worry I’ll be playing the Secret of Mana Remake on my PSVita tomorrow .
@gcunit If you’re not interested don’t buy them. Plenty of new games coming out every week.
I for one look forward to finally playing Spyro, such as I got to experience SOTC for the first time last week.
People only see one side of the story, or in this case the tweet NL featured.
Fact of the matter is that these guys have been getting constant abuse & harassment ever since the game was available on other platforms.
Good for them for telling them to stick it. People think its so easy to just say what you want without any repercussions.
A hat in time wasn’t on my radar before, but it is now. Getting it on another platform.
6million+ as of January 14th. That was before monster Hunter World. The PS4 isn't performing badly in Japan it's just not doing as well as previous PlayStation consoles.
@JaxonH *6.2 million in less than 4 years (PS4 released late February 2014 in Japan).
Don't get me wrong, portable is king in Japan & the Switch will outsell the PS4 three times over IN Japan.
PS4 is doing incredible worldwide, the Switch is doing great & XB1 is doing better than the 360. We should be happy instead of trying to downplay others success.
Remember there was a time were analysts wrote of console gaming...
Seems to me like traditional gaming is doing better than ever.
@westman98 The PSVR version of Skyrim outsold the Switch version. If you're going to make a comparison you should probably compare the two versions of the game that were released on the same day & marketed as a brand new experience (portable skyrim & VR skyrim).
Main series on traditional consoles/PC, Spin-offs on Switch.
The reason I say this is, because MH World is the new standard of what a mainline Monster Hunter needs to aspire to. Capcom can't possibly scale it back now, after all this new found success. People say 'power' doesn't matter, but it really does & it's starting to show. Heck even the PS4 struggles with the game. It feels like it's about to take off whenever I boot it up.
@HauntedNostril Exactly. I find it rediculous that people are blaming the developers, that had a vision & made a fantastic game & not the hardware provider.
A switch version could work. Only question will be, 'what are the downgrades' & would Namco be happy with attaching 'FighterZ' to that game.
FighterZ runs & plays beautifully on PS4.
It's easily the best DBZ game ever made imo (Tenkaichi 3 is a close second).
A Switch version wasn't considered at the time, but that doesn't mean it's not coming eventually.
@Tsusasi Chill out guy. I was pretty clearly joking- hence the emoji. Might have also missed the last sentence were I recognise it's not for me, but I hope people enjoy it regardless.
Looks to me like your the person that seems 'cold, dead and cynical inside', if you have no problem writing nasty comments on the internet .
Labo vs GoW is a running joke at the moment. Also people can enjoy both Labo and God of War, but you're too open minded to see that .
Hope you have fun with Labo. Different strokes, for different folks.
In my opinion PSVR is the greatest innovation of this gen (Switch second).
It's hard to describe it to someone that's not tried it, but it really is just incredible.
I would like Nintendo to get into VR, because that would push the tech and garner even more mainstream attention. At the minute it's just Sony that's actually pushing it into the mainstream. The others seem perfectly happy in being the luxury choice, but that does very little for the medium and only strengthens Sony's control over the market.
Consumer VR is still in its infancy, but 4K TV's...?!
I don't own a 4K TV, but everyone I know does. Also the stats show that the market are increasingly adopting 4K.
That does seem a bit ignorant by Nintendo. You can deny it all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that 4K has taken over.
'If we do the exact same thing than everyone else, we’re bound to die because we are smaller than them. With the Switch, we offer different uses, adapted to players’ pace of life. Its advantage is being able to fit into your daily life.'
Kudos on him. That's incredibly reflective and almost baffling to hear from a man as high up as him.
@Ralizah It would be about time. Good on them to actually get it sorted, but it still stings a little that I paid full price months ago when the game wasn't finished yet.
Think you'll enjoy Ys. I'm new to it as well, but after memories of Celcetta on Vita I just had to jump in.
This was a really well written and surprisingly balanced article.
I don't need Third party games on Switch- got my PS4 for that.
What I would like to see is Nintendo stop relying on tried and tested franchises. Mario, Zelda, Pokemon... I know what I'm going to get with them. They are 'safe' games, but they don't excite me- not in a way Horizon, The Last Guardian, Detroit, God of War, Spider-Man... do. If this means they go out and sign some exclusivity deals for new IPs, then so be it, or they could reinvest that Switch money by opening up more First Party Studios.
Sony and Nintendo have very different business plans. Nintendo likes to reinvent the old, Sony likes to constantly keep moving. It's one of the reasons PlayStation doesn't have an iconic mascot in the way Nintendo has. Very different approaches, but it works for both.
@dres Ehh no it isn't. There's only one scoring criteria at NL. 1-10.
That's were all games fall into regardless of price, length or production values. They are then all thrown into metacritic regardless.
As far as scoring is concerned there is no difference between a £50 & a £5 game- within the realms of metacritic.
The game is judged as a game. Nothing more, nothing less.
The issue is if you are telling me that an arcade game from 1986 is a '9' in 2017/2018, then there's a problem within the games industry. Where's the progress?
I don't think that's the case here. If Mario Odyssey & Galaxy raised the bar of what a platformer should be, then any game releasing should be judged by that bar. This is what PushSquare (sister site) did when they reviewed Yakuza Kiwami, which came out some months after the critically acclaimed Yakuza 0.
This isn't to say 'old' games are 'worse' than new games. Judge them for what they are.
I'm obviously not the only one that has a problem with NL review scores.
I'll leave it at that. If the reviewer believes that this game (of all games) is still a 9, then it's a 9.
The review itself is very well written. The disconnect comes with the score.
It's fine praising a game and acknowledging it's impact, but imo it shouldn't be put on a pedestal because of that.
Numbers aren't up for interpretation, they are what they are.
@the8thark Exactly this. I've been saying this for a while. I genuinely believe NL are trying to push an agenda here.
Problem is, if everything is great, then how do I differentiate between them?
They could really learn from their sister site. When PushSquare gives out a 9 or a 10 it means something.
Even brilliant games like Yakuza Kiwami got a 6, Zero got a 8, NieR got a 8- they were reviewed for what they are and what they have to measure up to.
Nostalgia glasses. Is an arcade game from 1986 really still a 9 in 2017/2018 when compared to today's standards? Even when those standards are constantly being raised by games from the same franchise (Mario)?
Like you said, the content is all there.
/rant over
@GrailUK It's not about a lack of respect. We can all remember our favorite games as fondly as we chose to. However, when reviewing a game should it not be reviewed for what it is? Should it be put on a pedestal? I've made this point before, but if this a 9 & Mario Odyssey & Zelda BOTW are 10s should I not expect a similar level of quality?
Don't get me wrong there are games that stand the test of time. MGS1 & FFVII come to mind. They were ground breaking and are still considered by many as the best entry in their respective franchises.
@Melkac Bloodborne was co-developed by Sony Japan Studio.
Not to question the integrity of the review, but at NL a game is either terrible or fantastic, for the most part. There is very little middle ground. Not to say the review isn't just. If it's a 9, it is a 9.
If Zelda and Mario are a 10, then comparatively this being a 9, I should expect a similar level of quality, for what it is- no?
Anyways, not my type of game. Kind of just get irked by the notion that a game is either brilliant or terrible.
Yesss!! Finally! Do you know how many times I stopped myself from buying a Wii U just to play Bayonetta 2?! This +Bayonetta 3 is bigger news to me than a new Pokemon game on Switch.
@electrolite77 Absolutely. I'm reserved about the long term success of the Switch, but It's an awesome time to be a gamer.
Remember when 'analysts' claimed that consoles are dead? PS4 & PSVR provide me with incredible experiences that I can't get anywhere else. The Switch offers me high quality exclusives and a console-like experience on the go.
The only reason why I (& I assume others) brought up PS4 is, because NL brought it up. The Switch is doing great and I expect it to outsell PS4 next year once it gets a price cut this time next year.
@YummyHappyPills Of course not. It's a year-year comparison (They are already at 10.4mil for the year). Sony's financial period starts & ends in March. Switch released in March.
The PS4 is quietly selling like gangbusters, even when it's up against new hardware.
Those Japanese numbers don't really mean much to me. I'm European & unfortunately only a fraction of the awesome JRPGs will make it over here.
I'm still extremely skeptical about the Switch's long term success in the West.
I still think it's only a matter of time before major publishers abandon the Switch. Watch WWE2K18 sell like hot garbage.
@bezerker99 The Switch is a fantastic product. PSVR is the greatest innovation this gen, but Switch is a close second (IMO).
@readyletsgo Argos Ireland? Would've snapped it up for £30, but Argos.co.uk have it for £50.
@Melkac Last time I checked UK was in the top 5 (game revenue). China, US, Japan, Germany & UK. China is mostly mobile & I don't know if Germany provide numbers.
I bought this game last week after it went on sale on the PS store. One of the biggest surprises of the year for me. Such a great game. Play with headphones, the soundtrack is phenomenal . Definitely recommended.
@faint Maybe so, but Nintendo as a whole should recognise that they need to do more to appeal more to the U.K.- one of their weaker markets.
I spent less on Wolfenstein 2, The Evil Within 2 & Prey combined than I did on 9 month old Zelda. I have no problem paying for quality, but that's just rediculous in comparison.
@gortsi Both versions launched on the same day. US sales of both seem in line with UK figures if Amazon US best seller list is anything to go by.
Salt & Pepper, please. Thanks for offering .
I'll drop this subject though. It's best to always have reasonable expectations, otherwise you'll end up disappointed. Hopefully publishers share the same opinion, otherwise I worry for 3rd party support on Switch- not that it needs it, the exclusives & portability make up for it.
@Malcrash I don't want to divert from the article, but PSVR is far away the most successful & profitable VR headset. Sony are dominating so easily that Andrew House is worried about sustained long term growth. Sony can't be the only one moving the industry forward. Competition is needed to thrive the medium forward.
@YummyHappyPills Weren't you that the one that threw down the challenge on PushSquare?
'So, taking all bets, what sells more? This, or a portable Skyrim?'
You have your answer, BLP .
@electrolite77 Please excuse us multiplatform gamers that like to keep up with Nintendo news & can see reality beyond fandom. Nintendo & Sony are the best in the business when it comes to exclusives. It would be a shame to miss out on games either bring out.

Cool. Hope you guys review it.

Oh well.

@Agramonte Shouldn’t take too long. The Vita version is cheaper than its PS4 counterpart. I paid £25 at launch.
Re: Splatoon 2 Makes A Splash In The Top Three In This Week's Japanese Charts
Competition is good.
I’m playing Bayonetta right now on Switch & still can’t believe it’s a ‘Nintendo’ game.
Guess Japan doesn’t buy it as one either.
It is about as M rated as it gets 😂.
I love it though. Made me stop playing MH World for the time being.

I must’ve stopped myself from buying a Wii U almost a dozen times just to play this.

Re: Splatoon 2 Crosses The Two Million Marker As Nintendo Titles Swamp The Japanese Charts
@sinalefa What’s strange is that SOTC was #1 in the UK.
Not only that it outsold the PS2 release, which also reached #1 by over 70%.
Given that the 10th spot in the UK does typically about 20k; SOTC did multiple times better in the UK than it did in Japan.
Strange.
Also why are there so many unnecessary shots taken at the competition in the article?
Re: Look, Capcom Knows You Really Want Monster Hunter World On Switch
@Grumblevolcano How is that not an acceptable offline mode?
I’ve played MH World for 60 hours offline & only spent about 30mins online getting the Horizon Zero Dawn Dawn gear for my Palico.
This how multiplayer focused games should be imo.
Re: Nintendo Switch Titles Are Still Holding Their Own In The UK Charts

The Switch is doing great and I expect it to outsell PS4 next year once it gets a price cut this time next year.
Re: Nintendo Switch Ends 2017 On A High With 2.5 Million Units Sold In Japan Alone
@NinNin http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2017/12/ps4_sales_cross_70_million_units_milestone_psvr_passes_2_million_units
(Hope this isn't considered spamming)
Announced on 12th June 60.4million, 3rd December it crossed 70.6million.
Re: Nintendo Switch Ends 2017 On A High With 2.5 Million Units Sold In Japan Alone
@YummyHappyPills Of course not. It's a year-year comparison (They are already at 10.4mil for the year). Sony's financial period starts & ends in March. Switch released in March.
The PS4 is quietly selling like gangbusters, even when it's up against new hardware.
Re: Nintendo Switch Ends 2017 On A High With 2.5 Million Units Sold In Japan Alone
Great for the Switch, but 4 year old PS4 is still outselling Year 1 Switch worldwide.
PS4 just crossed 70.6million.

Re: Nintendo Is Bringing Classic Wii Games To The Nvidia Shield In China
That's kinda weird, having Nintendo games on a non-Nintendo platform.
One step closer to Mario on PlayStation ?
I would love Mario Galaxy on Switch, I was a little bit let down by Odyssey. Thankfully, BOTW is the best game I've ever played on a handheld.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Makes Top 20 Debut in the UK Charts
@readyletsgo Argos Ireland? Would've snapped it up for £30, but Argos.co.uk have it for £50.
@Melkac Last time I checked UK was in the top 5 (game revenue). China, US, Japan, Germany & UK. China is mostly mobile & I don't know if Germany provide numbers.
Re: The Sexy Brutale Will Bring Mystery to the Switch Next Week
I bought this game last week after it went on sale on the PS store.
One of the biggest surprises of the year for me. Such a great game. Play with headphones, the soundtrack is phenomenal . Definitely recommended.
Re: Pokémon and Nintendo Titles Held Back By Black Friday Deals in UK Charts
@faint Maybe so, but Nintendo as a whole should recognise that they need to do more to appeal more to the U.K.- one of their weaker markets.
I spent less on Wolfenstein 2, The Evil Within 2 & Prey combined than I did on 9 month old Zelda.
I have no problem paying for quality, but that's just rediculous in comparison.
Re: Pokémon and Nintendo Titles Held Back By Black Friday Deals in UK Charts
Purchased ~10 PS4 games.
Purchased 1 Switch game (Zelda).
Nintendo need to get with the times.
Re: Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Both Make Debut in UK Charts Top 5
Re: Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Both Make Debut in UK Charts Top 5
@YummyHappyPills Weren't you that the one that threw down the challenge on PushSquare?
'So, taking all bets, what sells more? This, or a portable Skyrim?'
You have your answer, BLP .
@electrolite77 Please excuse us multiplatform gamers that like to keep up with Nintendo news & can see reality beyond fandom.
Nintendo & Sony are the best in the business when it comes to exclusives. It would be a shame to miss out on games either bring out.
