Manga and anime mega hit Naruto has enjoyed plenty of adventures on other platforms over the years - and had a fair few outings on Nintendo hardware - but he's yet to leap onto Nintendo Switch. Well, that colourful void is about to filled with news that Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy is heading to Ninty's handheld system.
The collection - which includes Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 and Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst - is currently only slated for release in Japan, and there's no word yet on a release date or whether a Western localisation is on the cards. However, an English version launched on PS4 and Xbox One last year, so it's more a case when rather than if in regards to a version hitting the EU and NA eShops.
Are you a big Naruto fan? Will you be giving this a collection a go on Switch if it indeed heads our way? Comment below...

Region free is a wonderful, wonderful thing.
I saw this on reddit and first comment said "why doesn't include storm 4!" gamers always whining...
The other naruto games should be in a collection like ninja heroes and kizuna drive.
Is English confirmed in Japanese version? If so, no way I will let this one go
@AnimeGamerFan Alot of people will say that the Ninja Storm games are the best way to experience the Naruto story. So in a way you kinda are watching the anime, just in game form.
I would play with Japanese audio anyway. Long live region free o/
Will definitely be interested in this. Hope the other anime licensed video games will follow soon
Already have most of them on Xbox but glad to see this coming to switch.
Not gonna lie. I totally might buy this.
This series was pretty cool at first, but now I'm just tired of it. The Clash of Ninja series was way better in terms of the combat. Like... it was REALLY good! Ninja storm just looks pretty and its combat is incredibly hollow. It just devolves into who can make the bigger explosions.
Actually now that I think about it, I think Switch would really benefit from having Wii on the Virtual Console. I'd LOVE to have Dragonball Z Budokai and Clash of Ninja games both available to play on my Switch at any time. Literally both of them were the best fighting games I've ever played and I'd pay next to any price to have them in my hands again. DBZ was just good clean fun with big blasts, transformations mid-battle and a very intuitive combo system. Clash of Ninja was much more about strategy with characters and what they could do. Particularly when there were up to 4 players in a single match. If you weren't careful, you could get interrupted mid-combo or a jutsu to the face the moment you made a move. I had a lot of fun with my friends playing both and I think Nintendo would really benefit from adding Wii games to the Virtual Console collection.
IF it comes at all.
@Rika_Yoshitake I think its just more so why this.isn't the Legacy collection instead of the "trilogy". I was even confused by the fact them stating it as a trilogy release when there is 5 or 6 UNS games.
Am always happy to see support, though do miss the open world of the Ubisoft titles.
Will be getting this.
It's been what? 8 years since we've seen a Naruto game on a Nintendo console?
If this gets a US release, I'M TOTALLY GETTING IT!!!!! Never played the 1st Storm game but always wanted too. I FREAKING LOVED Ninja Storm 2!!!! It was so good, so emotional, covered the story arcs REALLY WELL and music was FANTASTIC!!!! OH MY GOODNESS!!!
side note: I really wanna know what Tales of game they are gonna bring to the Switch. I'm itching for a Tales of game on the Switch!
@AnimeGamerFan Just curious as to why no interest in Naruto? By your name you are an Anime fan.
@ThatNyteDaez Agree with your points, those were awesome games!
@KingdomHeartsFan The reason it isn't included is because this collection is also coming to other consoles. Those consoles have UNS 4 available, so that's why the collection only includes the UNS games that aren't available on the system. Only time will tell if 4 will come out on Switch after this.
Yep.
On it.
Hmmm...80% chance EU will be digital only...
Kinda meh. I mean, so what. Eventually, why not Boruto.
@Rika_Yoshitake I saw the same thing on Twitter.
Definite buy from me. Hope we get a port of 4 in the future if this sells well.
I reckon ill grab this. I was on the fence with the PS4 version and didnt bother. But this is a great chance for me noe. I didnt play the first 2.
Hmm, hopefully they release the fourth too.
Big fan of Naruto, but never played the Ultimate Storm games, so if it does come to the west, it`s a sure buy for me.
Man, so many unexpected games coming to the Switch, I`m so freaking happy!
@KingdomHeartsFan @Devlind No the trilogy has been available for years on the other consoles.
The Legacy edition released on PS4/XB1 last summer & includes all 4 Ninja Storm games+DLC.
The trilogy is a last gen port, whereas UNS4 is a PS4/XB1 game, so there may be technical issues.
Also the entire Legacy Edition is over 60GB on PS4 so may be they're having to do separate releases.
I'm up for it, I've been a fan of Naruto Shippuden games
What a pleasant surprise. These are great looking games.
@SnowFox Yes. This is one of the games I have been hoping for. Now we wait for Dragonball Fighter Z.
@Rika_Yoshitake There is a legit concern, regarding price. We Switch owners currently still have to have this Wii U holdover mentality of "at least we get something." Remember when Wii U got an unfinished port of Mass Effect 3, at the same time other consoles got a trilogy bundle? I believe PS3 was even hyped because it didn't previously have the first game- so there was precedent for "catching players up."
Granted this is steadily improving. But, the fact is this- UNS Trilogy on PSN is $40. UNS4/Road to Boruto (all DLC edition) is $50. UNS Legacy is $70. Cost to get Trilogy and 4 separate= about $90. So right there, cost prohibitive to get separately. And the price for the Switch Trilogy release, converted from yen to USD, is almost $64- close to the Legacy collection price. If someone were to buy this and seek out 4 on another platform, they'd be paying over $100 for something PlayStation, Xbox, and PC players get for $70.
THAT said...UNS 1-3 were last gen, and this collection first came out for PS3. Most likely 4 would need additional effort to optimize.
