Re: Here Are Metacritic's Highest-Rated Switch Games Of 2022

Fight_Teza_Fight

@iLikeUrAttitude The original release sits on 93 with 98 reviews on PlayStation.
Persona 5 Royal was always going to be less reviewed given that it’s a re-release of a near 7 year old game with some additional content for a platform that it’s main audience is not on.

But yeah Persona 5 is the best traditional JRPG I have played in my near 25 years of gaming.

Re: Digimon World: Next Order Is Coming To Switch In 2023

Fight_Teza_Fight

@Kiz3000 I’m aware of that. It’s just it’s not very well implemented here. There’s almost no exploration in the game. You’ll spend most of the time in the hub, then head to zones where you trigger story events.
I played the game for like 40 hours & I can say at least 30 of those hours were spent in the training gym.

This game plays & feels like a mobile game. It’s nothing like the CS story which are incredible. Anyone interested should watch a video review imo, because nostalgia isn’t going to be enough.

Re: Digimon World: Next Order Is Coming To Switch In 2023

I’m a massive Digimon fan & let me tell you this ‘game’ is terrible.

Anyone interested should look up some video reviews first.
I bought it Day 1 & returned it after a couple of weeks as I was fed up.

Training is done in a gym. Where you level them up & evolve them. You can’t just grind because your Digimon have lifespans. They will die eventually & get reborn in rookie with some permanent stat boosts/perks.
Your Digimon will be reborn dozens of times which means levelling them up again all the way from the beginning.
Just imagine getting to the Elite 4 & suddenly your boss Charizard turns into Charmander again.

Re: Atlus Announces Persona 5 Royal Card Game, Arriving October 2023

Fight_Teza_Fight

@nessisonett I’m convinced we’re still getting a Persona 5 Arena first.
Would also not be opposed to a Persona kart racer.

P4 OG released in 2008. P5 released in 2016.
Atlus is going to string us alongside for a while longer with spin-offs. Reveal the title next year with a late 2024 release. Would not be surprised if it was 2025.

Re: UK Charts: Pokémon Legends: Arceus Slips Further As Gran Turismo 7 Keeps Pole Position

Fight_Teza_Fight

@1UP_MARIO I understood that reference. It’s a low key great song.

@RubyCarbuncle How is ‘Petrolhead simulator’ not a insult to people that like racing games?
That’s like saying anyone who plays Pokémon is playing a ‘animal fight to near death & mug people for money simulator’.

@ATaco GT is known as the ‘real driving simulator’. The reason GT sport is always online & similarly GT7 as it’s based on its framework is because it’s FIA approved. You can earn a real motorsport licence if you’re good enough.
It needs to be online as otherwise people can hack their saves & mess up scoreboards. It’s not the same as the comparison you’re trying to make.

I was going to hold off on Arceus, as I’m playing Elden Ring, but with the Arceus & Darkrai event for BD/SP I’ll probably give in.
Also got my eye on Triangle strategy I’ll probably wait for it to get cheaper.

Re: Nintendo Says It Won't Compete With Microsoft And Sony In An Acquisitions Arms Race

Fight_Teza_Fight

I do think that Nintendo need to enter the acquisition race. It’s not MS or Sony they need to worry about…it’s the other big tech companies- Google, Apple, Tencent. They have so much money that it’s literally a drop in the bucket.

I’m not happy with consolidation of the industry, but at this point it’s get eat or be eaten. I think Platinum Games would make perfect sense for Nintendo.

Re: It Sucks To Say It, But Castlevania Requiem Isn't Coming To Switch

Fight_Teza_Fight

This comment section has been a fantastic read. Thank you.

Also this Castlevania collection is staying PS exclusive. SIE are directly involved & there are rumours that these games are running on the PS4s not-so-secret secret PSP emulator.

It sucks, but gaming is no longer a priority for Konami.
Sony probably didn’t even have to throw too much money at them.

a game is touted as this amazing thing, yet you can't interact with the world outside of its intentional, scripted targets, excuse me if I'm colored disinterested.

What does that even mean? A game is entirely scripted. Everything has been created with intent.

They aren't 'interactive movies' though. It seems to me you have a strange perception of Sony FP games. HZD is a 60 hour open world RPG. God of War is a 35-40 hour RPG.

Detroit Become Human is an interactive movie and it's marketed as such.
Your entitled to your opinion. My issues lies in your generalisation of Sony's FP output as 'interactive movies' which comes of as nonsensical fanboyism.

That's like me saying Nintendo FP games are only appealing to kids- it's not.

Re: Nintendo Has Sold 19.67 Million Switch Consoles To Date

Fight_Teza_Fight

@GrailUK Go is the real wildcard. As I said in another article I wonder how much of a cross-over there is between the Nintendo games?

With all the high profile Nintendo FP games out, how many pick up a Switch specially for Smash that haven’t already?
Go as you mentioned targets a much broader- casual if you will, audience, but are those prepared to buy a full price Switch + Game?
It’ll undoubtedly do well, but I don’t know if it can carry the entire Fiscal year to 20mil Switches sold.

Nintendo should’ve done what Sony did. Aim low, then amend at each quarter. I fear them aiming for 20mil from the get-go and then missing it, is going to cause the stock to come tumbling down again.

Re: Nintendo Has Sold 19.67 Million Switch Consoles To Date

Fight_Teza_Fight

Good numbers and all, but I feel like Nintendo were too bullish with their 20million prediction.

Nintendo Q1: 1.88mil , 20mil 18/19
Sony Q1: 3.2mil, 17mil 18/19 (+1)

Nintendo have probably overshot & Sony under. I think both at 19mil is more realistic.
The Switch is going to need a holiday price cut if it’s going to hit 20mil.

Re: Ubisoft CEO Believes Future Of Games Industry Is Streaming, With Potential To Reach 5 Billion Players In Ten Years

Fight_Teza_Fight

Unfortunately this is the future.

It’s also the reason why publishers are pushing for open platforms.

Step 1- Unite the existing online community
Step 2- Bring it to more ‘screens’
Step 3- Goodbye dedicated gaming hardware

Depressing times. I can only hope the uptake isn’t as quick as the publishers want it to be, much like physical v digital.

Re: Shots Are Fired In This New Minecraft Cross-Play Trailer

Fight_Teza_Fight

Cross progression is good.
Cross play is bad- longterm.

It's funny to see gamers push for this and completely play into the publishers hands.
The end goal of open platforms is to remove the middle man- the platform holders. Once streaming becomes viable, console gaming becomes an afterthought.

MS are heading towards services & PC. Nintendo can/will do their own thing, but Sony either become a publisher or leave gaming.

As a fan of console gaming I'm glad Sony is sticking to it's guns.

Once you open pandoras box, you can't close it... .
Let's enjoy closed platforms for as long as we can.
