It isn’t too surprising to be honest. Nintendo much like many other companies are overvalued (EA).

Remember when the Labo announcement added $1.4billion to Nintendo?
I think even the most enthusiastic Labo supporter would admit that it hasn’t taken off yet.
Add other factors such as the ‘Quality of Life’ project, a lack of suprise reveals (Nintendo have all but laid out their 2018) & a decline was to be expected.
It’ll skyrocket again with the Let’s Go games & then slowly start coming down again.

As for Monster Hunter...
I think Switch will get a sub series (new game) & mainline Monster Hunter will stay on traditional home consoles given the success of MH World.

@westman98 Still it seems like they over-shipped, unless they wanted to keep the stores well stocked ahead of Golden Week. Labo's success/failure will be measured over months/years so it's wait and see so I agree with you.

@westman98 The drop is what you would expect with most games, however Labo isn’t like most games. It’s more of a peripheral & should see a slower drop off & steady gains as we move into the holiday season.
The only reason why I said it’s failing is because Nintendo only managed to sell through ~30% of it’s initial shipment in Japan.

Most popular games in Japan do 80%+ during its launch week.
Obviously Nintendo thought Labo was going to be red hot & it hasn’t caught on yet. They’ve clearly overshipped.

@gortsi @SakuraHaruka @Anti-Matter Not trolling. I did say my opinion was selfish as clearly some people have bought it & are probably enjoying it. I don’t have to like everything Nintendo brings out.
Nintendo have spent a lot of resources on Labo. Resources that I would much rather have them spend on games. Selfish yes, but so is human nature.

Just an opinion. If dropping/cooling off Labo means I get more First Party Nintendo titles then that would be great as there would be much more resources available (marketing, money, E3 presence, media coverage...).
This line of thinking is why I’m also glad that neither Sony or Nintendo have been successful in capturing the mobile market.
Anyways going off topic...

Sorry but I'm glad Labo is failing. This might be selfish of me to say, but the quicker Nintendo drop it, the better.

It's incredible. Still not finished it yet, but wow, what a game.

I think #3 for Labo is pretty good. Actual numbers will be interesting though. Far Cry 5 at #2 has been out for over a month & this is God of War’s second week at #1.

I’m a big fan of PS+.

If Nintendo comes up with a an online service just as good- if not better, I’ll have no problem to subscribe.

@Abaeron It did indeed have two holiday periods. It launched mid-November NA, late-November EU & Mid-Feb Japan= 4.2mil Nov/Dec 13, 14.41mil 2014.
During that period they shipped nearly 20mil units.

The first holiday period is negligible though imo as it’s a launch month. Most consoles sell out at launch (as the Switch & PS4 did).
The PS4 had ‘increased’ consumer interest due to the holiday period, but that doesn't matter as both sold out at launch.
At most you could say the PS4 has an additional few weeks of tracking.

Ehm 17.79million shipped.

Which would put the number at about 17million units sold through.

~69million games sold. That’s an attach rate of just over 4 games per owner. So that’s SMO, MK8Deluxe + 2 other games .

For comparisons sake I believe the PS4 did 18.5 million sold through in its first year so that pretty close.

The Switch should outsell the XBO within 2 years if it keeps up this pace.

Next up Sony tomorrow. I’ve got the PS4 at 80million.

PS4 Slim, Bundles and Pro moved the most units.

I think PS4 will take April (God of War) & May (Detroit).
Switch to take June & July.
PS4 back on top for September with DQXI and Spider-Man.

The holiday season will be interesting, could go any way. Think MS might even take a month or two (strong XBoneX sales).

As for Switch colours...I've got the Grey Joy Cons. I like to keep it simple and clean .

God of War & Yakuza 6 in the top 3 warms my heart . It’s a shame Yakuza is only just started to see franchise growth, when it’s all done.

@SmaggTheSmug It’s on sale pretty much every other month. You can get a brand new copy for £10 so it makes for a ‘good’ supplementary purchase to new console owners.

I don’t understand why there isn’t a physical for Switch.

I bought the game, on sale, brand new & sealed for £10 (PS4).

Surely they could have a ‘budget’ release for £20-25 & still be viable.
Could be a good faith gesture & you might get people to double dip.

Was looking forward to Dark Souls Remastered, but then that got delayed.

For me 2018 has been very quiet on Switch & its mid-April.
I wish Nintendo had waited a couple of years on Labo and focused on building the game library first.

Not for me. I thought World 1 was brilliant & World 2 was good, but everything after was downhill.
I’m done with Playtonic, unless they put out something really special, but I doubt it.
People are/were expecting way too much from these guys.

I was pretty disappointed. The Sonic Adventure games are classics and should be ported to every platform. I’ll buy them every time.

@Ralizah Nah it was sarcasm. Which the comment section is rife with. Business deals happen. We have no control over them. I do find it weird NL reports on games not coming to Switch, riles up the community and then the game ends up on Switch anyways (Spyro, Crash,...). It just breeds negativity.

It would be a bit different if someone from Sega came out and actually said we're not bringing it to Switch. For all we know this could be a Spyro situation were Nintendo are holding back the announcement.
Or the game might just not come to Switch. Who knows?

Still the point stands. Sega probably reckon it has a fan base for Shenmue on Xbox.

Well Nintendo paid to keep the physical SNK Heroines exclusive to Switch, so this is only fair, right?

Shenmue 3 hasn't been announced for Switch, so it's not crazy to think that this would miss out as well.
Also Shenmue 2 was exclusive to Xbox in the west, so they might figure they have a fan base there as well.

It's not really that baffling, if you think about it.

@Pikachupwnage Persona 5 on Switch will never happen. Sony have exclusivity to some degree, hence the ‘only on PlayStation’ tag.
They don’t put that on just any game that’s exclusive to PS4.

Games that are exclusive to PlayStation, but don’t have that are fair game.

Kind of disappointed by the announcements, especially on the Switch side of things. Was hoping for a Sonic Adventure 2 PS4/Switch port, but I continue to wait.

Just Shenmue 1+2 HD for me.

@StormtheFrontier They’re all stand-alone. Disgaea 5 is by far the most streamlined and accessible entry in the series.

It might be a year+ before this one makes it over & even then D5 Complete can be gotten on the cheap already.

It can be intimidating at first, but if you give it a chance there’s a fantastic one of a kind game here, packed with content.

Seriously you’re looking at hundreds of hours worth of content here. It’s incredible value for money.

@YummyHappyPills Ehmm I think this is pretty clearly a case of Nintendo being too secretive of what the Switch/NX at the time was.

It certainly isn't Square's fault. They just made a game using the engine they're most comfortable with.

All I know is PS5/next gen XBOX games are already in development with no dev kits being sent out yet.
The difference between Nintendo and the other platform holders is: Transparency.

Would Square like to release DQXI on all platforms simultaneously? Yes.
Am I going to wait 1 year+ for a Switch port? No chance.
I'm not going to blame Square for making, what looks to be an incredible game.

@Malakai It's using UE4, but the version DQXI uses is 'outdated' and is not supported by Switch.
Hence why this port will take a while.
Fact is the version of UE4 DQXI is using is supported by PS4, so maybe you should be the one checking your 'facts'.

Day 1 purchase on PS4. My second most anticipated game of the year, after God of War.
I was so sure Square would delay this. No chance KH3 is 2018 though.

I played this on PS4.
I don't regret playing it, but I do regret paying for it.

It's just a decent game to kill a couple of hours with.

We always lived by adapt or perish. Arming the public in 2018 against the government does more harm then good, when all it takes is one push of a button to diffuse the situation in the governments favour... .

Think that's pretty notable.

EDIT: Not saying PushSquare don't spin news positively, but that was a pretty poor example.

Those Builders numbers are pretty poor considering Girls und Panzer launched with ~45K units sold.
