We've spoken about Stranded Sails - Explorers of the Cursed Islands on the site a couple of times now thanks to its charming overall vibes and blend of gameplay styles, so we're happy to see that a release date has now been confirmed. You'll be able to play this one from 17th October.
Previously, we've heard that the game has taken inspiration from the likes of The Legend of Zelda, Harvest Moon, and My Time At Portia, and the mix of adventure, exploration, farming, crafting, and cooking does seem to place it somewhere between those titles. Here's a little more taken straight from the press release:
Stranded Sails opens with you shipwrecked on a mysterious archipelago where you’re tasked with looking after and finding the rest of your crew before you can eventually escape with a new ship!
From developing your camp with new buildings and resources, to creating a farm to provide fresh food to keep the crew’s happiness levels intact, Stranded Sails lets you explore several different islands where new treasure and crucial resources can be found. Mystery and danger lie in waiting, so you must tread carefully once you sail into this thrilling world on October 17th!
Stranded Sails will be available for £19.99 / $24.99 / €24,99 across all platforms.

Just looking at the thumbnail gives me Oceanhorn vibes...
@WaffleKnight
Same, I thought the same devs made this before reading the article.
Yep. I need this game in my collection, I love desert island survival sims
I'm keen. And so the backlog grows
Probably buying this for my very casual gamer wife. She played Yonder and My Time at Portia and really liked those games, especially Yonder, so I'm thinking she'll probably like this one as well.
"zelda inspired" is thrown around way too easily...
I like some of that art style. Not bad looking.
Does it have online co-op?
@Fazermint
yup, if anything this is Harvest Moon inspired. It looks interesting, but not Zelda at all
Yay another mobile port. The eShop is officially the new Ouya now.
So many Zelda-inspired games these days. Breath of the Wild's impact, I guess.
Failing to see the Zelda inspired aspects in this trailer.
This is the first that I have heard about this one. Definitely looks like a game that I should look more into. 👍
Absolutely nothing like zelda at all
I've played plenty of Mario inspired games but I have yet to play a Zelda inspired game. Not sure why.
@Fazermint Agreed, it pretty much means nothing at this point since any game with any type of adventure, exploration, farming, crafting, dungeons, cooking whatsoever is labelled "Zelda inspired". This looks nothing like a Zelda game to me (not to its detriment, mind you.)
@LegendOfStewart I liked Yonder also, and got that feel from the video. The frame rate drops and glitches drove me a little crazy, but the story and exploration were good enough to overcome that.
I will wait for reviews and check out how smoothly it plays.
I guess Zeldalike is going to become its own genre. Im ok with that.
