Re: Final Fantasy VII And VIII Remastered Are Coming To Switch In One Physical Pack

@retro_player_22 There are three things which turn me off to War of the Lions. First off, they unnecessarily changed the spelling of certain characters and locations within the game. Why? It makes no sense, and ruins much of the nostalgic effect playing an older title has. Second, they changed the names of many abilities and spells. Again, why? There was absolutely no reason to change names like this, and it was confusing when searching for a particular ability/spell, not to mention ruining nostalgic effect. But the thing that bugs me the most is the downgraded music and sound effects. Final Fantasy Tactics has one of the best soundtracks in gaming, and I was excited to hear the soundtrack again for War of the Lions. I don't know exactly what they did, maybe they compressed the audio so they could fit the FMV scenes into the game, but I felt it was a terrible choice to change the audio. Many sound effects also don't sound right. I never looked into exactly why these changes were made, but they are puzzling and annoying, to say the least. All of them mess with nostalgia, and as a result, I couldn't stand continuing to play the game. If they were able to fix all of my concerns, I would love to play War of the Lions again, but I feel about 99.9999% certain everything will stay as it was as in the PSP release.

Man, I LOVE this game. Both Galactrix and PQ2, came nowhere near as awesome as this game is (Personally I thought Galactrix was awful). And even though Gems of War is a really fun and addicting take on PQ, it still doesn't quite compare to the original. I am going to buy this again, but I am going to wait for a sale as this will be the 3rd purchase of this surprisingly fun masterpiece.

This is really frustrating. Some of these fixes are welcome (especially the map fixes), but I've been holding off in this game after putting some significant time into it, and this patch almost does nothing to improve on the real problems with the game. This game is awesome, and I really want to play it, but I don't want to play it until the real problems are fixed.

@ifcatshadwings I have the cartridge. I got to a point where the spinning, loading icon was not showing, and I had a black screen while waiting for the game to load the next screen. Not loading to a different area, either. Just to a different screen within the same area. Having said that, I have had other instances where the loading (with the icon showing) was what I felt was still annoyingly long, but not near as long as what I experienced with the black screen. I'd say maybe 20-30 seconds.

Good. I'm glad they're fixing these issues, and I'm glad they're fixing them soon. I love this game, but I decided to put off getting any further in the game until everything is patched. Or at least until it's in a more playable state. I wasn't having too many issues about 5 hours in, but then I ran into the 30-60 second screen loads. That was maddening.
