Re: Splatoon 2 Squid Sisters Story Deepens in Chapter 2

Eric258

There's such a stark contrast between the months leading to launch for the original splatoon and splatoon 2. The original one "You're a Kid Now! You're a Squid Now!" and "Lol, look at these weird pop star squid sisters!" In Splatoon 2 "Omg, we broke a bond", "We split Callie and Marie", "What have we done!" XD

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Smart Steering Means Father Can Play With His Physically Impaired Daughter

Eric258

This is why I love these features. They allow me to play with friends and family who don't have the skill to play certain games. For example, I've been playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe a ton with my niece and nephew. It's especially a joy for my niece since she tends to go off the track due to the item chaos and would usually come last place. We use to always play Mario Kart Wii but the problem was that there was too large of a skill gap and whenever I would lose (purposely) she would get upset that I wasn't trying my best. I've been having an amazing time due to this feature and I'm hoping for more of these features in future games to come.

Re: Fan-Made Zelda Title Breath Of The NES Gets Hit With Inevitable Takedown Notice

Eric258

One thing that always bothers me with these fan games is how these creators seem to always forget that Nintendo won't allow the use of their IP. Honestly at this point, I feel like it's just a publicity stunt. Step 1- Attach a beloved Nintendo IP so they can get some attention. Step 2- Spread the word on social media so that Nintendo definitely catches wind of it. Step 3- Get a takedown notice. Step 4- Make sound sort of sad reaction and use the attention gained to further their game. I'm fine with games copying ideas and basically using the same gameplay. Just make sure you create your own IP and assets but have very similar gameplay. A great example of this is Oceanhorn. It's practically a Zelda game but under a new name and etc.

Re: Poll: What Wii U Ports Would You Like to Play on Nintendo Switch?

Eric258

I hope the switch gets a couple ports. There are a lot of people, including me, who never had a Wii U so there are many games I would love to be able to play. Really want to have Bayonetta, Super Smash Brothers and Super Mario 3D World. It would be awesome to be able to play multiplayer smash bros and mario anywhere I go.

Re: Guide: How To Catch The Best Mount In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

@VENOMVSCARNAGE While I do agree he had made some questionable decisions, I'm glad he made the Nintendo I know today. He wasn't always in the right but he did admit his mistakes and even took a paycut when Nintendo weren't doing so well. He really changed the industry with his blue ocean strategy and he's the reason I ever saw my family and friends ever touch a video game. He pursued his passion to make everyone have fun with games and he was a fearless leader whom was willing to take risks. And whilst the Wii did have a lot of shovelware, it introduced a revolutionary new control scheme (motion controls) and had games such as Super Mario Galaxy, Just Dance, Wii Sports, Mario Kart that had left their mark on me. Heck, me and my friends still play Mario Kart Wii and we even put on some Just Dance when we're at a party. And let's not forget he did start the cogs to create the more modern Nintendo we see today. With his push for Nintendo to begin mobile games as well as Nintendo branching out with their IP (e.g. theme park). I probably had a very different experience than you as I grew up with the Wii and the DS but those Days were probably my favourite moments for being a Gamer and I'm so greatful for Iwata for creating these special moments.

Re: GAME CEO Explains Why He Has So Much Confidence In Nintendo Switch

Eric258

The best thing about the switch is how clear the message is. You don't need to hold one in your hands to understand how cool this concept is, unlike the wii u in which people are still confused. Can't wait for more games.

@Danpal65 Yeah, it's been ages since I've seen any sign of game. All I remember is that there used to be a GAME store in Colonades (Noarlunga) that used to go to. Never bought anything though because they were more expensive than EB games, and that's saying something.

Re: Video: Here's A Closer Look At The New Cartoon Mega Man

Eric258

I guess it looks alright? Only time will tell.

@TossedLlama Cartoons today are actually pretty good with Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Star vs The forces of Evil and Steven Universe. I think the problem these days there are so many cartoons, meaning we can get a lot more shovelware.

Re: Random: The Classic Legend of Zelda Theme Popped Up in The World Baseball Classic

Eric258

Now that is how to make an entrance XD

Also I'm surprised people aren't in love the BOTW's soundtrack. I'm personally loving it since it really is standing apart from other soundtracks in the series and the use of the piano is just gorgeous. The soundtrack just creates such a calm yet somber atmosphere when in the wild and the songs in the villages help illustrate that each village is unique and has their own culture and etc. Idk, it just feels so different yet so familiar at the same time. It just feels like Zelda.
