Indie studio Pixel Perfex has revealed that it is bringing its 2D shooter Earth Atlantis to the Switch eShop.
Looking a lot like the classic arcade blaster In The Hunt, Earth Atlantis places you in a world where the majority of the planet's surface is covered in wet stuff. There are plenty of enemies to take down, as well as 15 giant monsters to seek out and destroy.
There's no word as yet on when we can expect this to arrive on the Switch, but it looks like it could be one worth saving up those pennies for. Let us know what you think by posting a comment.

Fishy shmups just remind me how much I miss "Darius". In fact I was playing the Game Boy version just the other day!
Will keep my hook in the water for this one.
Loving the art style, reminds me somewhat of another game but I can't put my finger on what.
Love the look of it
Looks great. I suspect the graphical style will make it tough as the enemies and backgrounds all look quite similar. Interesting...
Woah! That art style is gorgeous. This game kinda gives steampunk vibe.
I genuinely hope that the Nintendo Switch is the revival of side-scrolling Shoot-em-ups.
This looks very nice.Just shows you what indies can achieve if they put a little more work into the artstyle instead of the usual generic 8 bit style most go for.
@AlexOlney I had the same feeling. Don't Starve, maybe?
Looks like it could be good fun. A bit like Steel Diver but with Gunman Clive's graphics. Something in the way the craft moves seems a bit off though, but it's early days yet. I'll keep an eye on this and will pick it up if it reviews well.
Wow, fantastic music
I'll pass on it.
It looks nice, but I think the novelty will wear off after 10 minutes and have me wishing for color.
@Flauber Maybe! Or perhaps Ballpoint Universe?
@Shiryu You never played Shark! Shark! on the Intellivision?
I was there!
It's great to see another shoot em up eventually hitting the E-shop!
@AlexOlney I see similarities with Affordable Space Adventures!
Maybe, depends on price!
Oh man, this looks rad. Between this, Sine Mora EX and Graceful Explosion Machine, we've got some tasty shmups on Switch.
Though if I could be a tad greedy and pick a couple more, I'd be totally down with some DariusBurst and Deathsmiles!
In the Hunt meets Darius Nice, looking forward to it !
@AlexOlney Steel Empire, perhaps?
@Shiryu i was just thining how much it reminded me of that on the GB
@AlphaJaguar The Neo Geo game Blazing Star comes out today in North America for the Switch. It's a great side scroller.
The art style reminds me of Gunman Clive somehow
@AlexOlney It's a bit Steel Empire meets Darius meets In The Hunt with the monochromatic vibe of Gunman Clive... and it looks like it might be pretty damn good.
If they hot the $5.00 to $10.00 sweet spot I am there!
@Amsterdamsters It's out now on the EU store, too!
Awsome art style, awsome music. This trailer sold the game for me
@Shiryu
i love sqoon for nes
So gorgeous!
Day one. IF the price is right. ; )
@BionicDodo I feel like a good way to handle that would be (if possible) to maybe let the player toggle how easily the background can be seen? Like an opacity slider or something? That way if it distracts a player too much, they can make it less visible. I could see the confusion between foreground and background being an issue, though.
"Earth Atlantis places you in a world where the majority of the planet's surface is covered in wet stuff"
Okay, so... Earth!
@AlexOlney
Gunman Clive? Monochrome, dust reel style reminds me of that.
I'd buy that.
JUST TAKE MY MONEY, ESHOP
I'm really sorry for what i'm saying ... but ... physical release or no way
Song of the ....
@JaxonH Hmm, I was just listening to a Pandora station called Epic Soundtracks (it's my workout music, don't judge me) and that music sounds awfully familiar. If that's the actual game's music, somebody has been listening to a whole lot of Hans Zimmer.
In da Hunt with Les Slowdown.
This is beautiful. I don't like shmups but I might try this one. I think it's amazing how far we've come. This truly looks like a playable piece of art.
"Whew, I'm back from my expedition. Dude, I totally discovered Atlantis!"
"Amazing! Did you discover any new species?"
"Tons. But don't worry, I killed them all. Just blown them to bits, kapow."
"W-w-w-what!? Why???"
"Um... y'know, points?"
Lol: From the man who brought you Gunman Clive!
It does look nice though.
