Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Has Been Updated To Version 4.0.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Eggs

I skipped majority of Switch as was on Xbox but I am very surprised Nintendo have updated this game to S2 standards when they have a newer version out.

I understand the idea of catering to all and pushing out updates (which is brilliant for us) but from their POV, I don't understand why they haven't pushed more DLC, new characters etc into MKW, especially as this is part of a bundle going out with an imminent price rise..

Considering this has had an update, and the obvious popularity, I'm considering picking it up myself. However, my brain will find it hard to choose which one to dedicate any time to due to my neurodiversity so then that may also be an issue.

Amazing game and a bit of fun from Capcom. I've beaten the game on normal and collected everything, beat New Game Signal which was fun and now just need to go back and beat it on hard to get the final achievements on my Switch 2.

If you're on the fence about this game, I highly recommend it.

Re: Nintendo Details Switch 2 Price Increase For The UK

Really not that bad when you consider that everything is going up to due to various economic factors across the globe, and the Switch 2 is a console you may play for 10 years so that's less than £1 a week, IMO anyway. Depending on how much gaming you want in your life, style and quality.

Personally I love my S2 and was previously a hardcore Xbox player (CoD, BF etc etc).

Re: Polaroid's Latest Collab Has Us Itching For A Pokémon Snap Replay

Eggs

I played the N64 version of Snap to completion recently using NSO and it was a joy. It brought back nice memories from renting it from Blockbuster when I was a teenager.

I then this year got New Pokemon Snap. Unfortunately no evolutions within the game you could prompt, however, the sheer amount of content (including free DLC), plus the challenges, means that it would take a serious amount of time to 100% it if that is your goal. I did a fair bit but the vagueness of the hints means I was resorting to using a guide, and the idea of ticking them off using a guide felt a bit laborious so I 'finished' the game having unlocked everything and gotten a lot of four star photos but did not 100% it.

A new game exclusive for the S2 with more areas and Pokemon, some new features, maybe create your own course to upload online (and put in Pokemon with activation rules), as well as some co-op multiplayer or vs mode to see who can score the most points in a single course, would make it a very good game for Pokemon and photography fans alike

I will be playing on my Switch 2:

New Pokemon Snap - got this last year after revisiting the N64 one and completing the Photodex and stopped because I thought I’d done all the levels but turns out there was about 11 stages I’d somehow missed (including dlc) so have gone back and am loving it again.

Donkey Kong Bananza - I reached layer 1400 from launch, got burnt out and went back last week, was overwhelmed so have started again. Enjoying it more this time around.

Pokemon Pokopia - Dropped off after 3 levels in from launch, trying to go back to see what I need to do in Rocky Mountains. Great game, just burned myself out previously I think.

@HubbaHunt Thanks - I’ve decided to restart. The reason being is my brain can build up the momentum and enjoy it again, seeing it through to the end now. Plus I can do the DK challenges too which scratch that competitive itch.

Due to my ADHD, and being very competitive, I get angry and frustrated quite quickly so have had to uninstall/install certain games (Starfox, MKW, Overwatch/DKB, New Pokemon Snap, BotW, Pragmata, Indiana Jones) so that I have optimised what is good for me to play.

I’m looking forward to Oblivion only having played it on 360 for a little bit (provided it runs well) and have decided to avoid Elden Ring for obvious reasons linked to my brain! 😅

Re: Talking Point: As Sony Bins Physical, How Long Until Nintendo Follows Suit?

Just don’t get the allergic reaction to digital and gkc games. It just seems such an outside take on it all to refuse to get a game because you don’t own the IP, as if Nintendo or someone is going to take away the game from the consumer.

It was always going to head to digital only. We have streaming services that wiped out rental places like Blockbuster and I bet the sales of DVD/Blu-Rays have plummeted.

I have to say that I’m finding the knee jerking posts here threatening to do stuff with their collection or future purchases quite amusing.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Diddy Kong Racing

One of my favourite ever games. I have so many fond memories of this game and the hub you could drive around in, and the secrets you could find, and characters you could unlock.

If they brought this back out with 8P online multiplayer it would be a hoot!

Re: Review: Star Fox (Switch 2) - Stays On The Rails, But Absolutely Hits The Target

I’ve completed the training and the first misision and it’s very good. Feels super fluid, graphically it looks gorgeous and I don’t mean like next gen graphics gorgeous but just the colours really seem to pop.

I didn’t play Lylat Wars much when I was younger and didn’t play the demo for this game. It’s a little bit pricy at £41.99 but I’d say if you’re gonna challenge yourself for scores, hard mode and replayability then it’s worth it. If you’re just gonna do the campaign and move on, probably not so much.

Perfect Dark near to my 15th birthday. I went to the cinema to watch Scary Movie (quick maths defeated the ticket boss in the year 2000) and when I came home I had PD to play. Best birthday ever, sneaking into an 18 (which wasn't really 18 material) and then one of the best shooters ever made (in it's own generation).

@MrModerate DKR was my first N64 game and I played it to death. Unlocked all the characters and was super proud of my 13yr old self for even getting T.T but distinctly remember that giant rooster being my favoured character for some reason, although I did like the turtle.

I’ll be dabbling in…

Indiana Jones ATGC - just got to the second main area, prefer it to the first already. Brilliant game, really well done and runs amazing on S2 with some very minor glitches I’ve seen (that do not affect gameplay)

Mario Kart World - where are the new tracks?? Regardless, I am trying to get the 3 VRs to 8000+

Pragmata - I completed this and it is fantastic! Need to do the signal part and then new game +. Honestly, GOTY or maybe Pokopia….

Pokemon Pokopia - got sucked in at launch, got three areas open and dropped off because ADHD, but I’d like to go back, especially with the dlc out

Re: Reaction: A Direct That Picked Up Pace For A Breathtaking Finish

They shared a lot of new games, dlc and future games. However, following the Xbox show this week whereby they showed some big games like new Gears of War, I am really disappointed with what Nintendo have shown us.

Remakes, dlc and even a mobile to console game. If they had put in a new big game or tease it would have been good. Yes they had OOT, and I’m a huge fan of LoZ, but we’ve all completed it many times so… a new SSB, Mario (of which I’m not that bothered), LoZ or other big first party title would have done it.

For me I would have liked a new big game, some MKW dlc (how they still haven’t released some I don’t know) or some official S2 footage of Elden Ring then I think my score would have been higher. As it stands I put it at 6/10.

Re: Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition Will Finally Rise On Switch 2 This August

Eggs

Not played this but I’ve played a Dark Souls game so I understand what this will be like.

Completely disagree that this should have been made easier or have an easy mode. The game is accessible for all but not all will have the patience or skill level to beat it. That’s the USP of the game, that it’s hard, like a lot of games from the 80s/90s before we had this mentality where everyone is a winner for participating.

This game was clearly designed to be hard so that beating it actually felt like an achievement rather than most games today whereby you beat it and you’re done without ever breaking a sweat.

If you don’t like the challenge then you don’t have to play it or feel like you’re missing out. Opposite, some games are ridiculously easy and built for children, doesn’t mean they need to add NG+ and a hard mode to accommodate more skilled, patient or relentless gamers.

Re: Talking Point: One Year On, How Pristine Is Your Switch 2?

I've really looked after mine because I'm an adult? Why wouldn't you look after it. If something accidental has damaged it then that's different.

I play mine docked for 99% of the time too, so that helps of course. I also cover the top with a light tissue when not in use to protect from dust collection in the fans/speakers!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (9th May)

I’ve had an epiphany this weekend that my multiplayer heydays are behind me (working with EA and Xbox on Battlefield content and other games was my peak) and as such I’ve decided I’m going to now focus on single player adventures.

Having said that I finished Pragmata earlier which was very good, highly recommend and potentially tomorrow I will boot up Pokopia and see where I left off in the mines area. It really grabbed me at the start so hoping my ADHD brain can enjoy it again. Other than that I’d like to finish LeafGreen and BotW ahead of Pokemon Shield, and a replay of Windwaker, Majora’s Mask and OOT.

Re: Talking Point: Which Zelda Game Would You Most Like To See Remade?

Eggs

Majora's Mask would be incredible with the tech now. Visually it would look stunning, the whole time element adds a sense of pressure with the moon and they could even look to add in more characters/masks if they wanted to.

I can remember playing on release when I was a teenager and having a guide for the masks. It's still one of my fondest memories of being in an almost living breathing town, as opposed to the one in OOT which felt very NPC/flat.

Everyone in MM had something they were doing and they moved around according to their three day plan. Just something magical about it all. Plus being able to turn into a Deku or a Goron was a first for the series too.

@Lord Had to create an account just to respond to you 😅

Disagree about voice chat being bad, it is actually very good. To be able to pick out voices only is excellent and you can change settings in menu for chat too (such as turn down game volume).

You can use headsets with the pro controller. I have it and use my turtle beach absolutely fine whenever I want the voice chat contained to my ears only. Not sure why you’re having a problem?
