Been playing a mix of Animal Crossing and One Step from Eden.

@JayJ I'm also glad I bought it on release now that I'm stuck inside.

I backed it but I also believe I'll be getting the game from them at a cheaper price than what i can get at retail so i'm not too worried about it.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get a multiplayer match and also when I'm in downtime at work this would be a great time burner.

I need to burn what credit I have left soon on my eshop account and I was thinking about spending it on your game.

How is the game purely as a single player experience?

Shame about the all digital road they've gone down.

Anyway I own the PS4 version and looking at the screens above, seems like level of detail in the landscape, objects and texture details as well as shadows and possibly lighting has been reduced somewhat.

If these were undocked shots it wouldn't actually look too bad at all.

I don't often pre-order on the ehsop, only if I know 100% that it'll be ok.

I do preorder stuff at a physical store, sometimes just to get a copy of limited things but I also enjoy the benefit of being able to cancel them when I'm at a physical store and move the credit around as I please.

Anyway i bought this game before the review came out, it really pales and shallow compared to the 3ds version, which I went digging around for to get the bad taste out of my mouth of the Switch version.

What's single player like and how is it?

I agree with you that a lot of the reviews these days here tend to be short and actually not detailed enough about even just basic information like game modes and what systems are in place in the game itself.

I'd also be worried about tilting it from side to side as I play.

Yeah, I mean Tiki is Tiki so there's no disputing that.

I'm not too sure of the other characters, been awhile since I've played to be honest and I can't remember what they look like.

Touma's spirit is Cain from one of the older Fire Emblems and Itsuki is Chrom.

I've just downloaded it on a whim and played for a bit. Single Player portion seems really small and simple. I lost in the final match but it only took 2 battles to get to the "finals".

You get currency after winning a battle and you use them to pull dragons for your sub spots. Your leader slot monster unlocks from beating someone in single player and I guess it's only a small number of summons that can actually be a leader which I'm disappointed about.

I haven't tried the multiplayer part of it yet.

I'm not sure why but Amazon Japan wouldn't let me ship the last two games I wanted so I had to go to Amiami and Cdjapan to get my stuff.

I tend to pick up stuff on launch so the prices will always be higher than waiting a few months, half a year for stuff to drop or even a year.

I use ozbargain for a variety of stuff and game deals/launch prices get posted up there. Worth a look every now and again.

K-Mart doesn't stock games here anymore and Target's been clearing out all their games but for awhile Target was really cheap.

Well we're just 2 people talking about it using it, I use the AU Amazon store, I can't order from the Japanese store as they won't send stuff to me from there and I occasional use the US store for hard to get items.

I can also tell you that I won't touch a digital game store unless I have no other option so we're of two ends of the spectrum here. I do know people use the AU store when deals get posted so that's not everyone using the US store or regional store.

I'm talking in broader terms of software as well across all platforms. The physical usually ends up cheaper than digital except for when it comes to the Switch so there's actually no incentive to buy digitally on Ps4 for example.

JB Hifi and Big W tend to have the cheaper launch prices, especially with certain titles in the first couple of days.

Sad to hear, I do like the staff that I deal with, some of them were willing to go the extra mile to help me out with warranty and stuff when they didn't have to but at the same time I really hate how they have excessive postage and handling costs for online shipments on sale items.

I attribute it also to Amazon now being more prevalent in Australia since you get free shipping if you're a prime member and Amazon tends to have the lowest price or price matching to other stores.

With that said though I don't know how much of it is in Japanese just from looking at the screenshots.

@Zuljaras isn't Titan Quest pretty buggy on the Switch? I remember seeing a lot of stuff about it on Reddit, it's what caused me not to buy it when it was sale in the past.

There was major warning signs years ago over on the steam forums when they started the fp2 model and how the versions didn't match up between platforms.

People there don't trust the developers.

This is so stupid. Only the voice matters here not to mention it's based on fantasy. Basing the casting on someone's skin colour is actually discriminatory where it's not required.

@RupeeClock I was store shopping yesterday and a kid was nearby and heard a parent discussing fortnite with a worker from the store. kid got all excited just at the mention of the name so having a box there as you said gives it a physical presence.

I do have to give props to the worker for not tricking the parent into getting the dlc pack and being upfront that it's actually a free game.

@RetiredR I hate motion blur and DoF. I'm not sure why developers are so obsessed with those effects. Some games as so bad they look like they've been smeared in vaseline.

Would more than gladly turn them off if given the chance, especially if it improves performance.

This probably doesn't bode well if Xenoblade Chronicles X happens to get ported over. That one had a slider removed from character creation and some customes censored, which looks ugly as sin and really stupid.

However it's relatively minor compared to TMS only because I felt the changes they made to the story were really significant. Sticking to my patched up Wii U version.

I tried the demo a couple of weeks back and it didn't give me a positive impression on the game so I'll be skipping it.

Holy crud, that's a lot to go through to move over saves if you own both devices, totally not worth it.

These short "reviews" are ridiculous.

@spirit_flame They've been doing these short reviews more recently. It's just a couple of paragraphs. It's almost not a review because it doesn't actually say much about the game.

I'm not really relying on the reviews here anymore because there's no substance in them.

I use a grip currently with mine and I don't see how this could help without support under the fingers, you'll still end up with cramps.

Cross play with probably be good to keep the game alive though I'm not sure about the it being an even playing field if it's enabled.

Not supporting Overwatch though because the Devs are so arrogant.

This might sound sad but I missed home running that sandbag.

Luckily user scores don't mean much to me. Something nicely written up with logic and objectivity with pros and cons mean more to me than a user score.

For any Aussies out there it's the bogan version.

Hope they release it all on one cart. It's a definite purchase if that's the case.

I have the PSVR version and it's a hoot to play. How does the controls translate when playing on the Switch?

@Heavyarms55 I recently had Catherine's limited edition cancelled on me from Amazon. I was so furious when they cancelled because all the preorders were sold out at all local stores. It's caused me a bunch of problems trying to get a copy now. $5 credit wasn't going to cut it I tell you.

I've had to switch over a joycon due to a poor wireless signal and I had c-stick problems with my New 3ds XL.

Odd thing to report on when other options are available or are they advertising for apple products or something?

Anyway I own a Genki and it's excellent and sleek.

@Heavyarms55 That's true. it's speculative at the moment but I wonder if there's any subtle performance improvements for games.

@Heavyarms55 I'm half tempted but at the same time I don't know if I can bothered reapplying a screen protector to a new switch.

I'm thinking of just biting the bullet and getting a powerbank to extend the playing time.

@Henmii It's a real shame because I thought the art direction, animation and choreography was execllent throughout the entire run.
I'm not sure if they'll be able to replicate it same consistancy with another studio but only time will tell.

Apparently One Punch Man switched studios between season 1 and 2 and 2 turned out pretty horrible.

I consider it dead, I'll still use mine but with no new games coming out and all the retail stores doing clearances to free up shelf space of their physical titles at the moment.

Doesn't make for a particularly attractive purchase with no physical games.
