Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe And Super Mario Party Double Pack Appears In The US

@Xeno_Aura ya I did consider getting it for my switch when I first got my console last year, but couldn't justify the £40 for it especially when I've heard the online mp is quite limited (no boards) and dont think I'd of played it much for local play with others

Just checked and it's still £40, I'm kinda sitting on it hoping we'll get another mario party for this platform, I cant see nintendo moving on from Switch anytime soon

@aaronsullivan my argument for that has always been that while yes, nintendo made these games, they already made their initial sales years ago

For example my parents bought me SM64 when I was a kid, still got my copy, and the people who worked on the game got paid for their work... now if I want to play sm64 on my pc instead of on my n64 I feel justified in that

Hell, at some point the people who worked on these games wont even be alive.. how many people who worked on original super mario bros, still work at nintendo? Which ones of them are still alive? Yet people think it's fine to constantly resell software even dating as far back as the 80s

From a legal stand point yes nintendo can do what they want.. from a morals stand point I see nothing wrong with downloading roms of old games, as long as you support a company you like where you can

@Damo not really, theres a very valid argument made when people point out the initial sales for these games were made YEARS ago, how many people who worked on n64 still work at nintendo or are alive even?

The only things these sales recouperate on in costs is the emulation on switch, which cost massively less then say cyberpunk 2077, another game being sold at £50

Selling legacy software at same price as current AAA releases is a joke and pretty sad to see imo

@Dezzy Emulators have been able to do that for years, Dolphin emulator (gamecube emulator) for example has widescreen hacks for various gamecube games, with results varying from game to game

Far from impossible to take an old 4:3 game and make it 16:9, its the main menus and stuff like that which would need reworking entirely for 16:9

Or maybe it's just stretched
