@nessisonett way of the world my friend, all that counts is money.. that's why in my country government say it's ok to go school, work, restaurants, pubs yet cant have more then 6 people in a household
I've never played minecraft in my life and now I just feel old, though I should be use to it I'm not familiar with any of the anime characters they added either
@Yorumi ya that is one thing I do like about pc, you dont need to have a gaming pc to enjoy games, even sbc like raspberry pi are popular with things like retropie, recently u can play half life on a pi4 now which is amazing
@lordzand a lot of rare employees actually left specifically due to not liking the difference of working for microsoft instead of ninte do, it's all quite well documented
@Magician rise of triad already had a remake didnt it? Or is this updated version of original you refer to? Similair to releases of blood, turok, forsaken ect?
@Xeno_Aura ya I did consider getting it for my switch when I first got my console last year, but couldn't justify the £40 for it especially when I've heard the online mp is quite limited (no boards) and dont think I'd of played it much for local play with others
Just checked and it's still £40, I'm kinda sitting on it hoping we'll get another mario party for this platform, I cant see nintendo moving on from Switch anytime soon
@aaronsullivan something like a "fan creations" would be interesting, alot of fun rom hacks out there in the wild and in an official capacity like that would benefit nintendo as a company
@aaronsullivan my argument for that has always been that while yes, nintendo made these games, they already made their initial sales years ago
For example my parents bought me SM64 when I was a kid, still got my copy, and the people who worked on the game got paid for their work... now if I want to play sm64 on my pc instead of on my n64 I feel justified in that
Hell, at some point the people who worked on these games wont even be alive.. how many people who worked on original super mario bros, still work at nintendo? Which ones of them are still alive? Yet people think it's fine to constantly resell software even dating as far back as the 80s
From a legal stand point yes nintendo can do what they want.. from a morals stand point I see nothing wrong with downloading roms of old games, as long as you support a company you like where you can
@Creature theres a specific build of 1964 emulator you might like, it runs GE and PD at 60fps, has ultra wife support, mouse injector for kb+m support
Defo worth checking out if ur a PD fan, also the official XBLA rerelease was really good too, tho I do sometimes still boot up my n64 from time to time
@Clyde_Radcliffe its proper common knowledge that in smash if someone else with bad connection joins you theyll lag everyone else out, secondly doesnt smash use p2p? Doesnt use dedicated afaik
@TG16_IS_BAE it means entitled woman, but I'm not a woman nor entitled, if people want to buy this fair enough but I'm still going to be critical over it being £50 and a rather lazy cash grab imo, the price is insane to me for what is on offer
@andykara2003 youd be surprised how close some shaders can look to a crt image especially if u tweak them to how u want it
I use royale shaders on retroarch and its night and day compared to using none at all, official rereleases like this NEVER use shaders just some vrappy generic "scanline" filter that doesnt look accurate
@Damo not really, theres a very valid argument made when people point out the initial sales for these games were made YEARS ago, how many people who worked on n64 still work at nintendo or are alive even?
The only things these sales recouperate on in costs is the emulation on switch, which cost massively less then say cyberpunk 2077, another game being sold at £50
Selling legacy software at same price as current AAA releases is a joke and pretty sad to see imo
@Dezzy Emulators have been able to do that for years, Dolphin emulator (gamecube emulator) for example has widescreen hacks for various gamecube games, with results varying from game to game
Far from impossible to take an old 4:3 game and make it 16:9, its the main menus and stuff like that which would need reworking entirely for 16:9

Sonic Generations was my fav, couldnt get into the SA games
Re: EA's Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remaster Has Been Rated
You mean I can pay a premium price for a game I played 10 years ago?!
No way, nintendo too good to us
Re: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Rated For The Nintendo Switch
Let me guess, £50 right?
No wonder nintendo dont focus on making new games when they can sell old games for the same price

@Ks123 mario works pretty good as a multi-platform title too I agree
Re: Phil Spencer Praises Animal Crossing: New Horizons During The TGS Xbox Showcase
@Trajan bayonetta 2 on pc would be nice tbh, given I already own the 1st one on steam

Now we need Postal 2!

Re: Random: Switch Owners Are Discovering Just How Frustrating Super Mario Sunshine Can Be
@mariomaster96 I like to think they were just joking when they said that xD
Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe And Super Mario Party Double Pack Appears In The US
I recall people saying super mario party wasnt very good, which is a shame because there was one on gamecube I quite enjoyed, mario party 6 iirc
Re: Random: Forget The Switch, Super Mario 64 Has Been Ported To Dreamcast, PS2 And PS Vita
I heard about this about a week ago, I also knew it would stir some nintendolife users the wrong way lmao
Re: Video: The Problem With The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Release
@ryobi85 perhaps stop wasting your time then, the whole point of a comments section is to comment genius
Re: Video: The Problem With The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Release
@status-204 I'm not sure what you mean "awful ideas" because fans have already made plenty of AMAZING custom content over the years lol
Re: Video: The Problem With The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Release
@aaronsullivan something like a "fan creations" would be interesting, alot of fun rom hacks out there in the wild and in an official capacity like that would benefit nintendo as a company
Re: Video: The Problem With The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Release
@ryobi85 I mean if that's how you feel fair enough
But why waste your own time to tell other people they are wasting their time?
Re: Video: The Problem With The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Release
@aaronsullivan oh I never intended to say it was easy, just that it was entirely possible for nintendo to do a better job of it imo
The price by far is my biggest gripe, sure prices can be subjective but £50 notes seems way too much
Re: Video: The Problem With The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Release
@locky-mavo that's kind of the point, people who might want it but cant get it are going to be disappointed
It's especially going to be the case, given a lot of people will be struggling financially due to covid
Re: Video: The Problem With The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Release
@aaronsullivan my argument for that has always been that while yes, nintendo made these games, they already made their initial sales years ago

Re: Video: The Problem With The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Release
One of my main gripes is the price, along with the limited release
£50 for 3 old games that were lazily ported, even unofficial emulators made by people in their basements do a better job
Re: Random: Some 3D All-Stars Players Aren't Happy About The Visible Debug Cubes In Super Mario Sunshine

Re: DOOM Eternal Switch Release Still Happening, id Software Says It's "Very Close"
@popey1980 their main bulk of sales wouldn't come from a nintendo platform, pc is where doom is at
Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Super Mario 3D All-Stars
@TG16_IS_BAE what bs though? You're the one actively getting annoyed at me and spewing bs at me for NO reason lmao
Do you often go around getting triggered at people for seemingly no good reason??
You go around using dumb buzzwords like "karen" and you dont even know what the phrase means. Gold.
Re: Nintendo's Switch Online Service Now Has More Than 26 Million Subscribers
@Clyde_Radcliffe its proper common knowledge that in smash if someone else with bad connection joins you theyll lag everyone else out, secondly doesnt smash use p2p? Doesnt use dedicated afaik
Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Super Mario 3D All-Stars
@TG16_IS_BAE ironic that, you really want that last word huh? Let me ask, was this worth your time or was it a waste?
You approached me, maybe next time mind your own business
Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Super Mario 3D All-Stars
@TG16_IS_BAE and I'm reminding you, if someone uses a word incorrectly b, some buzzword on the internet.. then I'm going to point that out to them.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Super Mario 3D All-Stars
@TG16_IS_BAE if they dont know what it means then they shouldn't use the word to begin with
Is that a common thing in the US? To blurt out words when you have no idea what they mean? LOL
Re: Random: Super Mario 3D All-Stars' Cartridge Is Rubbing People Up The Wrong Way
@JoeyTS not the US one anyway
Re: Random: Super Mario 3D All-Stars' Cartridge Is Rubbing People Up The Wrong Way
@JKRiki didnt take long for me to notice that artwork is a "who cares" is this day and age lol
Personally love seeing comparisons of japenese american and european box arts for older games, prob not your cup of tea tho
Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Super Mario 3D All-Stars

@Retro_Player_77 you dont know what "karen" means, do you?
Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Super Mario 3D All-Stars
@rdrunner1178 no one here is complaining specifically about "graphics". You seem like the sort of person who is against ANY criticism of any kind

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Super Mario 3D All-Stars
@DanElectrode this doesnt stay true to the original tho
sunshine has frame pacing issues and galaxy has colour banding issues
Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Super Mario 3D All-Stars
Even DF confirms that Nintendo could of done more... I.e lazy cash grab
