Re: Microsoft's Edge Extensions Store Has Reportedly Been Hosting Illegal Copies Of Nintendo Games

Doktor-Mandrake

@Yorumi collectors, lol, theres no way a collector could be checking all their games, making sure they all play from start to finish LOL image calling someone laughable after claiming something like nes, 80s hardware is indestructible and will never fail

I've always seen collectors as selfish, basically hoarders, but then have the nerve to say games are indestructible even though they just SIT on them unplayed? Games are meant to be played with, friend.

Big difference between games you love and played the heck out of your entire life, to something you bought off ebay and sit on and never play.

If I want to use emulation to ensure I have a safety net, I will also means less wear and tear on my original carts, same reason people love everdrive so much

Re: Microsoft's Edge Extensions Store Has Reportedly Been Hosting Illegal Copies Of Nintendo Games

Doktor-Mandrake

@Yorumi I like the aggressive attitude you have now took in persisting I'm abusing my games, they all work but still some are starting to show their age, I'm talking things like lylat wars suddenly not loading up toxic wastelands all of a sudden, sure can restart and hope it loads next time

Live in blissful ignorance all you want, you're a collector? Good for you, I have a modest "collection" with majority being the actual games I've had since I was a kid, with thousands of hours played on some of these games

Now be honest, how often do you even play this collection of yours? How often do you even boot them up and play all the way? Getting to the main menu does NOT equate to a working cartridge incase you didnt know, games can easily freeze at certain parts, even on carts

You sound like someone who has a bunch of old games and old consoles sat around not being played, declaring they're indesutrible lol

Re: Microsoft's Edge Extensions Store Has Reportedly Been Hosting Illegal Copies Of Nintendo Games

Doktor-Mandrake

@Yorumi oh please, the pins are all intact and even Nintendo life did an article "your old consoles are slowly dying"

This whole belief that old consoles last forever is a myth my friend

Literally everything degrades in this world over time. Everything. Even us.

Fact of the matter is, without emulation (which even nintendo use emulation) we'd be talking alot of lost software/games, especially ones that dont even have right holders anymore lol

Re: Street Fighter II Turned 30 At The Weekend

Doktor-Mandrake

@Migoshuro In terms of graphics in the indie scene, this is why I kind of prefer the AA root, take Two-Point Hospital, it has nice modern looking graphics, but it had support of sega, team17 as well are quite invested in supporting rogue developers and helping them, including playtonic and while YL was average it's hard not to love ex rare devs

That said I do think some indie games can have that AA or even AAA feel but I get what you mean about stylized graphics, but theres a lot of modern looking stuff too especially in the AA/small budget titles

Re: Street Fighter II Turned 30 At The Weekend

Doktor-Mandrake

@Migoshuro Yeah it's a real shame, tho I do think some slack should be given where due, star wars squadrons has no microtransactions and isnt a live service game either, for EA that's impressive but they still get pooped on and I dont think the games sold massively, also on steam forums people are complaining it doesnt get regular updates

And that's a part of the problem, we're living in times where people who grew up with microtransactions and live service games are in their late teens or early 20s, have disposable income and theyll happily keep buying this stuff while ignoring the few games that do go the traditional root

I do gotta praise Nintendo here, I have a love-hate relationship with the company but they dont shove microtransactions in my face.. at least not yet and I hope they never do, they make enough money from MT's on their mobile phone games

Re: Street Fighter II Turned 30 At The Weekend

Doktor-Mandrake

"Nowadays the fun of a game is put to the back of the line"

I disagree here and would argue it's the games you're picking that arent fun to you, especially when we have the AA and indie scene nowadays

Ultimately the problem with AAA nowadays is that they dont want to take risks and make 'safe' games that are most likely to sell, which just means less innovation

Re: Video: 7 Legacy Sonic Games That Were Never Rereleased

Doktor-Mandrake

@Silly_G YOUR ORIGINAL POSTS WERE OBNOXIOUS BY THE VERY DEFINITION SMART GUY, YOURE IN NO POSITION TO USE THAT WORD

Saying that YOUR obnoxious comments hold no weight was not "personal insults" either. You did that.

Yes you should of taken that wise mans advice sooner rather than clutch at straws like you had, and argue with people smarter then you.

Because if what you're saying now was true, you would of just said exactly that. Liar.

I've looked into your post history and you do this often, check mine if you want I barely post.

Re: Feature: 6 Huge Video Game Franchises Missing From Nintendo Switch

Doktor-Mandrake

@JuanGartner Much like I try to point out before, much like x360 and ps3 use different architecture to a switch (or even a ps4 or xbo)

It's the same with games, idtech especially (used to power doom) is a VERY scalable engine, so they can scale a lot back

Where as something like GTA V uses the RAGE engine, its plausible a switch port but that engine is not just less scalable but not as easily portable.

Idtech naturally supports lots of stuff can even run doom eternal on linux for that same reason, it also supports modern api Vulkan where as GTA V will still use opengl

It's not just a matter of graphics like people here always thinks it does

Re: Video: 7 Legacy Sonic Games That Were Never Rereleased

Doktor-Mandrake

@Silly_G Critique means it would have to be thoughtful and constructive lmfao

Didnt know saying "everything sonic touches turns to trash" and "old doesnt mean classic" counts as critque

Ironically me pointing out your behaviour has been more meaningful than your clutching at straws

I know you're a pseudo intellectual and all but please stop misusing words. You barely have a grasp on the word 'reply'.

Re: Video: 7 Legacy Sonic Games That Were Never Rereleased

Doktor-Mandrake

@Silly_G Maybe if you could keep your argument straight, you've gone from

-my only beef is with sonic, not sega

To

-I was just joking bro

Either way you admit to clicking on these articles with the sole intent of bashing on a video game character.

And no, I wont hit ignore. I replied because I wanted to point out that your comments dont hold any weight or real value. That.was.it

And if you like puoy puoy tetris, I'll let you in on a little secret....
....
......

...sonic is not the developer, hence not the one who introduced that minor bug you cried about.

Re: Video: 7 Legacy Sonic Games That Were Never Rereleased

Doktor-Mandrake

@Silly_G Surely you dont get jokes as the point is they are meant to be funny, a statement like "old doesnt make it a classic" is objectively not a "joke".. your comment in the puoy puoy tetris article was not a "joke".

Your excuse is the only joke!

Let me make this so simple, even someone like you can understand it.

I dont like animal crossing, I think it looks boring and kinda dumb

Do you see me on animal crossing articles? Nope!

Where as you, intentionally click any article with mention of sega and sonic.. with the intent of spreading negativity, before you've even clicked the article

Also having relied to you it is obvious you like to drag out arguments to make it look like you had a point. This is called being stubborn.

Your comments in this and the puoy puoy tetris article was unjustified and clearly in context are not "jokes". That's a reach.

Re: Video: 7 Legacy Sonic Games That Were Never Rereleased

Doktor-Mandrake

@Silly_G Gonna break my own rule here

No, projection is saying you only have problem with sonic, not sega, even though you were clearly in the puoy puoy tetris article the other day calling sonic and then bashing on sega in general

That, and having "beef" with fictional characters, is projection. "Triggered" is another word for "bothered" and you fixate on a single word simply to dodge the fact that you're a Sega basher and not a very good one

Again, it is not my problem you have beef with fictional video game characters. To me I am not overly that emotional over video games, why would i project over them?

drops mic

Re: Video: 7 Legacy Sonic Games That Were Never Rereleased

Doktor-Mandrake

@Silly_G Ok?

If someone replying to your comment (reply as in, you know, hit that big button that says REPLY on it) on the internet bothers you this much, then you shouldn't be on the internet full stop

Dont worry, I wont continue engaging you, as I have already proven my point.

I'll just wait until the next Sega related article for that

Edit: DELETED YOUR POST DID YOU? LOL THANKS FOR PROVING MY POINT

Re: Classic Pokémon Cards Are Being Rereleased To Celebrate The Series' 25th Anniversary

Doktor-Mandrake

@LilMuku and you call other people stupid? Okay, let me eleborate for you.

Here is a direct quote of yours

"It's easier to market to stupid people than it is to come up with new stuff
Charizard's proof that nostalgia sells"

Now this is clearly you implying that people who buy into nostalgia are "stupid"

That has been nintendos whole mantra the entire time, naturally nintendo fans actually do like nostalgic things

Unless you're implying everyone is going out buying over priced old charizard cards in which case that is even more moronic when that is very few people (probably doesnt even get to triple digits in people buying them)

Either way, your comment was dumb asf and a failed attempt to troll.

Re: Classic Pokémon Cards Are Being Rereleased To Celebrate The Series' 25th Anniversary

Doktor-Mandrake

@LilMuku By your logic they've always been horrific

Theres always been a new mario kart, a new smash bros, a new mario game ect.

It's literally always been like this, they've always reiterated on their long running franchises

Lmfao, nice edit

And yes, you did say nostalgia sells and people are stupid for buying into said nostalgia, saying other wise doesnt make it true

Re: Classic Pokémon Cards Are Being Rereleased To Celebrate The Series' 25th Anniversary

Doktor-Mandrake

@Landanceo just ended up spending £37 😂

Got 14 cards, all common types but they were all under £3 (except charmander and voltorb, they were £6), most of them were classed as "mint/near mint" and a few in "good/great condition"

I feel bad now for spending money, but also tell myself it's an investment to justify it to myself 😂 but with this announcement prices might start going up for the old cards

Re: Classic Pokémon Cards Are Being Rereleased To Celebrate The Series' 25th Anniversary

Doktor-Mandrake

Omg, how much are they going to be?

Always wanted to re-gain the old cards i had as a kid but 2nd hand ones on ebay go for silly money

Glad they're doing this, tho dont understand why the cards are over sized? Actually, it makes sense... scammers would make out their originals otherwise and sell them at inflated prices

Edit: looking on ebay some of the more common cards are reasonably priced, might have to buy a few but dont know if I want to go down this rabbit hole.. I'm trying to save money 😂
