Re: Italian Discontinuation of the NES Mini Seals Its Fate

@cleveland124 Reggie is just the PR he really doesn't make the big decisions. So they aren't allowed to change their plans? This is just videogames. This happens with EVERY company that makes desired products.
Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Marvel, DC, Apple, Samsung, Sega and so on. Are you new to videogames? Or collecting? I genuinely ask because I have seen these things since the 80s.

Re: Italian Discontinuation of the NES Mini Seals Its Fate

Davidiam007

@cleveland124 seriously? He just stated that they would make more, but come on! You knew this wasn't going to last that long. They had a new console launching shortly afterwards that was going to more then likely have a virtual console.
The NES classic was never going to be their soul focus, but just a side adventure. It was nothing more then a quick cash grab and a project to test the waters with. I just think no matter what people are going to complain about it. People complained about the NES classic edition for having only 30 games, people complained about the games that were chosen, and complained about no online. Now people are complaining about it discontinuing. If they made two million more units and only 1000 complaining comment warriors purchased them, that would leave them with 1,999,000 units that retail stores would complain about.
I personally think they did the smart decision of only putting a handful out that sold quickly, then having extras sitting on a store shelf collecting dust.
Plus, it makes owning one even more special, cause I planned ahead and succeeded. I knew this was going to be majorly scalped so I did what I could to make sure I had one.

I'm not new to gaming or collecting. This happens a lot and not just with Nintendo, but other companies as well. What is the point of hating on a company that put out something really cool that was going to be limited.
I don't need a link to prove that this was gonna be limited and I don't think Nintendo had to spell out for you guys. Seems to me the scalpers new. I knew. That's why when my preorder was cancelled, I was at my local store at midnight.
I have one cause I really wanted one. I purposely made time in advance to be able to get one.
Planned it with my wife and job because I knew this would be limited. Move on.

Re: Video: Let's See How LEGO City: Undercover on Switch Stacks Up Against the Wii U Original

Davidiam007

Its cause the switch has real time lighting and shadows. The textures seem fine to me just different lighting. It's looks so much better scene in actual live comparison then a video.
Don't get me wrong I absolutely love my Wii u and that version as well, but if you have the switch I highly recommend getting the game or at least when it's on sale get it cause it's such a charm to play through it again.

@AlternateButtons you need to have a better look then because even in this video you can see that it is sharper, more detail, has revamped lighting system were there are actual shadows and not baked ones. The Wii u one had horrible shimmering and artifacts and zero anti-aliasing and baked in lighting. Not to mention you are watching it through a YouTube's compression.
I have both games and I can't even look at the Wii u one cause it IS THAT much uglier.
Go find someone who has it and make a real comparison.
Here's what I think is a better comparison video.

Re: Nintendo Releases Official Switch 'First Time Use' Guide Video

Davidiam007

No browser means more resource available to other important things like games and a snappier UI.
Let me show you how I roll.
I don't have a smart TV cause I'm not stupid to pay extra for something I don't need when my Blu ray player has those features.
It's slow and cumbersome to surf the internet on such devices anyways. My PC, phone and laptop are more superior at it then all current consoles.
Therefore, I appreciate not having a useless feature to tie up valuable limited resources.
Plus, it's more intuitive to pause my game and look at my smart phone then it is to move back and forth from game and browser on a console.
That's actually clumsy and takes up unnecessary resources.

Re: Video: New Extended Nintendo Switch Trailer Showcases Launch Window

Davidiam007

@NintySnesMan what I see in the switch is that you can now play console quality games on the TV and on the go. Plus, you can have multiplayer split screen with the joycons or create a WLAN party with several switches on the go.
Yes some of the ideas had been done before, but that can be said about every hand held system and console.
Vita is not the inspiration of the switch.
The Wii and Wii U are. The switch is basically both ideas refined. I told my friend awhile ago after I bought the Nintendo Wii U at launch-"You just watch!" "The Wii and Wii U are just testing platforms and a hint of what's to come.Thats why they look similar with each other and why they keep improving on the Wii Remotes."
Four years later the switch is announced.

Re: Soapbox: Why I Still Love the Wii U

Davidiam007

I love my Wii u. I didn't buy it to play third party games. I bought it to play Nintendo games. I have other consoles for that and a very powerful PC and laptop. Now, before someone says, "See! You're the problem and reason why third party doesn't support Nintendo cause of your snobby attitude!"-No! It's third parties fault for gimping and doing a piss poor port that gets them lack of support. Not mine. Not to mention a lot of those third party games had piss poor quality on their day one release.
I have countless hours of fun spent with family and friends on the Wii u that I will absolutely cherish.
I look forward to the Switch, but the Wii u will never be disconnected.

Re: Limited Stock Brings Out the Inevitable NES Mini Scalpers

Davidiam007

Yeah, I got mine. Walmart did a midnight release. It was limited stock and one per customer. What made me upset was I could already tell who the scalpers were in line. Thank God I was forth in line. The other thing that made me mad was that some walmarts like the one in viera, FL. The employee there were the ones scalping it and telling people they were not part of the midnight launch and they had none. This same employee did that with the gold Mario's on its first release which I caught him telling people they had none, but clearly you could see them all in a plastic bag behind the counter. Checkout this Walmart employee's eBay store, Amira979. He has at least 8 of them on the back of his car and he took a pic of them in the parking lot for his eBay pictures.
