Re: Iwata: Embracing Smart Devices Has Made Us Even More Passionate About Dedicated Games Consoles

Dauntless

Seeing fanboys hate the idea is amusing. Most of you have a smart phone. By expanding this gives you another platform to enjoy Nintendo games on and you're upset?
Think of all the different controllers you have used before from past systems ( NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Wii U). Each one rearranged buttons in a different formation, and or added analog sticks, triggers, motion, touch, etc. Each system had stellar software that was designed to match the controller and you were open minded enough to try a different controller each time unlike the Playstation crowd.
They will design the games to match the touch control scheme. You're not going to play Super Mario 3D World 2 on mobile. You will be getting something that takes advantage of mobile's strength.

Re: Weirdness: Club Nintendo Members Attempt to Sell Flipnote Studio 3D Codes on eBay

Dauntless

Thanks for the idea. I listed mine on eBay for $5. I don't have a 3DS so I have no use for it. Nintendo should have offered a choice between a WiiU gift or a 3DS gift for those that don't have both systems.
Do you really think I'm trying to get rich by selling this code for $5? Do you really think $5 is going to make the world of difference to me? You self-righteousness type make me sick. Its not like I'm hording the supply and preventing you from enjoying it.

Re: Amazon Opens Pre-Orders For Super Smash Bros. GameCube Adapter and Controller Bundle

Dauntless

What really sucks about this adapter is that it doesn't come with GameCube backwards compatibility. The Wii was just a slightly upgraded GameCube. If the Wii U is similar enough to offer Wii Backwards compatibility it should also be able to do GameCube. Its sucks that this adapter will only be used for 1 Wii U game and not the many great GameCube games that are out there. This is like rubbing salt into a wound. All the pieces are pretty much there to enable backwards compatibility but Nintendo is too stubborn or lazy to do it as usual.

Re: The Club Nintendo Reward Details Are In For August

Dauntless

Nintendo's club rewards really suck now a days. They pretty much have nothing except digital downloads ever since they took the shop down a while back.
Its a good thing I cashed out just before that, when they had the Super Mario Accessory Box listed. There hasn't been anything good on since and the platinum reward wasn't great either.

Would it kill them to release Excitebike 64? I've been waiting only since the Wii days. Its not like the title is owned by anyone other than Nintendo.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition Software Bundle Coming To North America

Dauntless

The shell looks cool, but I don't need any more plastic crap. I'm not disappointed about not getting it, but I am upset that Nintendo would do something like this and only release it in one store location of an entire continent.
Seriously how can they pretend this is exclusive when we know every where else gets it the normal way from regular stores? This isn't 1980. Thanks to the Internet we are more aware of world events.
The good news for those that really want it is that the plastic shell isn't region locked and you can import it. Of course the weight and size will add to the shipping cost and you'll have to sell off the game that comes with it on ebay.co.uk. It should still be cheaper than visiting New York if you're not near by.

Re: North American Wii U Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Set Bundle Races Into View

Dauntless

The red game case still has the blue banner and looks ugly. This is one of those games that will need a case swap for a blue. Fortunately Nintendo does sell the official dvd cases on their parts website if you don't have a crappy game to swap with. Why couldn't they just colour the banner & number 8 red to match the case?

Re: Nintendo Lifts The Lid On Its Plans For E3 2014

Dauntless

Nintendo doesn't have too much to show. E3 is expensive and Nintendo is too cheap for that, especially when they don't have much to show. They were expecting third parties to fill in the gaps between first party releases. They weren't expecting to be the only publisher supporting the Wii U.
