Re: Round Up: Every Switch Highlight At The Future Games Show - Summer Showcase 2024

@Ogbert Imma be real, when I look at Niko or Luna, I don't see "Muh furry MC I use in fanfics"(Grimbald probably leans into that camp of the writer's barely disguised fetish) I just think of Crash and all the Scrimblo bimblo mascot characters that tried to be Crash, and burned. But idk, I was pleasantly surprised by Kao the Kangaroo's return and Kaze and the wild masks was a short but sweet DKC inspired ride, so Nikoderiko might be something to keep an eye out for, for me at least. Maybe the actual music will be better.

"Mom, can we get Crash 4?"
"We have Crash at home."
Crash at home: "PARTY DON'T STOP, PARTY DON'T STOP, NEVER EVER!"

in all honesty, I'm more interested in Nikoderiko and Antonblast than anything else in this list so far. Once Penny's big breakaway goes on sale, and once these two do as well, I'll have the perfect quad set of colorful indie platformers that aren't Wario/Sonic/Crash bandicoot.

Re: NES-Inspired Platformer Rugrats: Adventures In Gameland Crawls Onto Switch Next Month

Dakotastomp

@AnorakJimi It IS an actual NES game, indie made, sure, but they actually made physical cartridges for it and showed them off at SDCC last year. Like they said, it'll just be in limited supply.

Also, yes. Rugrats is still a thing. They just had a reboot in 2021, albeit the uncanny cgi one, but the brand is still alive and kicking. Plus you can always show Rugrats to your kids on Paramount +, which is where most of the classic nickelodeon shows are now.

@HaileySheridon I can't tell if you're trolling or not but they made it clear that they are not going to be adding nick jr specific characters to the game for the obvious reason that they're preschool characters, just like there's no live action reps because they're live action. Regular Nicktoons for the older kids and 90's fans only.

Re: F2P eShop Title 'Omega Strikers' Ends Development Just Months After Launch

@Greatluigi I know they're planning to make Strikersverse games, but I just don't see why Odyssey can't make a new game while also adding content from that game into Omega strikers and more skins and events that keep players coming back. Again, I think they gave up too quickly simply because the player base dropped. Aesop and his team should have been more committed to sticking to their guns and making more for the people who stuck to it till the end. Just my opinion.

The thing I hate most about this news and their decisions to basically pull the plug is that they gave up too quickly. You have all these characters and a canvas to make dozens of different stories each season, questions that will never be answered but deserved to have some resolutions(Why is Obscura's goal need corestrike as an element? What exactly is Rasmus's endgame in his experiments? Do Luna and Atlus's parents ever come back from the depths of space?)and all of this and more will NOT be answered by this team and probably will only live on in people's fanfics and artwork.

Imma be real: they should have full stop made this a gacha hentai game from the start to bank on the character design appeal and the broader Japanese player market. At least Knockout city had the balls to last over 8-10 seasons before deciding to shut down.

@FarTulip Political? I'm curious where they got Political in the game, because from what I've played and seen on its Twitter page, it's just dumb s**tposting and the only thing "Political" was the pride nameplate.

Re: Cowabunga! New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Game Announced For Next Year

Dakotastomp

@5th313ment I will accept that it did not break even nor did I ever expect it to, but 153 million on a 70 million dollar budget is still a successful enough run when compared to the last Theatrical tmnt movie by Paramount. Also, saying something sucks is subjective depending on the topic or product. You can't pretend that there aren't any fans of classic turtles who at least tolerate this iteration of them or outright like it. Do I think it's the ideal/best version of the turtles ever? Hell no, but I also don't really like to judge things that are trying to do it's own thing. So I would have to judge it on its own merits.

Re: What Year Is It? A Brand New Rugrats Game Has Been Announced

Dakotastomp

I'm very surprised so many people on here haven't watched Rugrats growing up or hated it, since I remember watching it as a kid and thought, Next to SpongeBob, that it was Nickelodeon's most popular series before FOP took that spot. I'm surprised but also hyped for this game because I thought if any other property from Nick needed a "Rehydrated" version, it was Rugrats, but a whole new 8-bit side scrolling adventure in the style of SMB2, Wario Land, and The Jetsons Cogswell caper is good enough for me.

Now can we please get an official Glitch techs video game just to prove you guys are actually using the series for something good, please Nick?
