Re: Here's The Full Character Line Up For Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3

Dakotastomp

@RPGreg2600 that's fine. I'd probably wait for a deep sale as well, but I fear this is going to go the same route as NASB vs. Multiversus when Disney Speedstorm launches, since that's f2p, but the difference here is that Nick's game seems pretty competent and has everything folks have been asking for from the start. I can live without VA, as long as the game itself is good, but I'm glad it's there.

Re: Here's The Full Character Line Up For Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3

Dakotastomp

@RPGreg2600 Well, there's your answer. It's seeing these cartoons we grew up with interacting together in a crossover that has gotten better over time. Not saying it has anything over CTR Nitro-Fuelled or MK8, but it really does look like the team really is building off of what worked in the last game.

Where else can you find Leonardo on a motorcycle launching rockets at Jojo Siwa driving a hovercraft? No where, that's where.😂

Re: Here's The Full Character Line Up For Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3

Dakotastomp

@RareFan Plankton I get, but why Mrs. Puff when she was an assistant character in the last version? Maybe Krabs in a DLC if they push for it to be a long runner this time.

More confused as to why they only went with chuckle and Susie for the first run instead of Tommy and Angelica like usual, but that's what DLC is for.

Also Parker J Cloud for NKR3 or we go to Warner Bros. Discovery!

Re: Here's The Debut Trailer For Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway

Dakotastomp

@crosslice Unlike Disney and CN who can piggyback on the money their parent groups make to pay their developers more and can give the more time to work everything out, Nick and Paramount don't really have that kind of a relationship. Nick seems to have to pay their developers on their own and probably don't have the money to back up further development, so they only give them a seed fund first and see if it drums up enough buzz before giving them more money to add everything they wanted and tweak mechanics.

That's what I think was the process for NKR, but All star brawl probably should have waited preferably the day that Multiversus was released but chances are it would have been blown out the water in some ways.

Re: Here's The Debut Trailer For Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway

Dakotastomp

@crosslice Why are you comparing the look of a Nintendo game that's been around a lot longer and has a bigger budget and larger staff to that of a licensed game that was made by a small name developer and only got a bigger budget once nick knew there was a high enough demand for more of it? That's like comparing CTR to GarfieldKart, one was obviously made to cash in on its brand name as cost effectively as possible.

Compared to the other two games before it, this one looks the most solid and close to the Nicktoons style imo.

Re: Here's The Debut Trailer For Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway

Dakotastomp

@Sahnec Oh, glad you're happy for the players still keeping it alive, but it's the fault of Nickelodeon for making them rush it out in that state, not giving Ludosity a bigger budget, and Ludosity being so small as well. It was either have a game that functions competently that holds back on features that most would think are standard and add them later, or add those features in, and not have enough time or money to polish the characters or movesets.

Re: Review: Gal*Gun: Double Peace - One To Avoid Playing On Public Transport

Dakotastomp

To give the reviewer some credit, he at least wasn't as harsh about the content and culture around these types of games as O'Reilly was, as these games are not for everyone, but I seriously doubt anyone would care all that much about what you play in public(especially since you probably won't be playing this game in public for multiple reasons). Like it's seriously funny to me how a lot of gamers outside of Japan judge other gamers who might casually enjoy something like this when they grew up in a generation with DOA Xtreme and the sort. This type of stuff was around since the mid-80's and it didn't normalize criminal behavior back then and still isn't now.

But honestly, these games are not my first choice to explore the world of Eroge. Wasn't planning on buying it and I still have no interest, They're just ok. They're not meant to be seen as deep or enthralling, just cheap fan service, but that's what I'd be there for. Honestly I would bump it up to a 6.5 or 7. All-in-all, let's try not to attack each other for our different tastes.

Re: Nickelodeon's New Brawler Might Get Character Voiceovers In The Future

Dakotastomp

@Entrr_username that i agree with, hell with the new SB Cosmic Shake game being announced, it seems like more money is thrown at a thqnordic/Purple lamp project than these guys at Ludosity, but Gamemill is also well known for being synonymous with cheap games(CN battle crashers) but I guess Nick really didn't put much faith in it at first and spent more time focussing on that new game in development for Spongebob. Things may change over time and interest may make them put more into NASB future developments.

Re: Nickelodeon's New Brawler Might Get Character Voiceovers In The Future

Dakotastomp

@VoidofLight Then don't be happy about it. Don't buy it. I'm still certain the company makes its money either way, and before you assume I'm just licking the boot for this, I also did mention before they should have VAs in the game during production, like they use to put a little more effort with the production with THQ so it shouldn't be so different here, but with the team even making efforts to listen to fans who want more from this game is more than what we got out of those Kart racers, so you're not wrong that they shouldn't put out a half complete product, but at least they're planning to add more at all.

Re: Nickelodeon's New Brawler Might Get Character Voiceovers In The Future

Dakotastomp

Jesus, some of the comments here really make it seem like some of you guys are entitled to a 5-star licensed product off the bat from an indie studio. Like, these are the same people who made Slap city and it was casual fun but had a lot of the same mechanics that made Melee fun and easily accessible. The gameplay should matter first and foremost or else you'd end up with one of the other sh***y SSB clones only with Nick characters instead. Also, be honest, you weren't going to buy this game anyway, right? They don't owe you anything, but the effort being put into it is admirable, next to BfBB rehydrated.

Re: Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Is Revealing A New Fighter This Week

Dakotastomp

@Noid Ok i can see why that would be a problem. Probably explains why he was absent from Globs of doom too but the show was still in production at that time. Even with that dilemma, Jimmy at least had no reason to not be included, unless the production company now being defunct is an issue as to why it's not included.

Re: Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Release Date And File Size Seemingly Revealed

Dakotastomp

@Silly_G Well tbf it would be pretty weird if cool to see Tommy or Chuckle doing aerial somersaults double jumps and landing a three hit combo into a forward smash finisher, since even in their own games they never went that extreme with the babies. Also if you're looking to pumble kids, download Super brawl universe, it has Angelica as a playable character and she's in her og form.

Re: Two New Characters Have Been Revealed For Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Dakotastomp

@Tasuki so, who should be included? Because a lot of nicktoons don't really fit the fighting game motif to begin with. Also, you have to think of this like a company that owns or has a strong business relationship with these properties. Doesn't matter that Tmnt wasn't originally a Nicktoon. They've own them since 2012 so they're in. Same goes for Garfield and possibly Big Nate and The Smurfs or Alvin and the Chipmunks, since Nick licensed the shows.

Re: Two New Characters Have Been Revealed For Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Dakotastomp

@link3710 Believe me, when the show first came out fans were hostile to it and anyone who enjoyed it for taking a different approach. I got made fun of by some rando who hated it and made up his own beliefs about me like i take drugs to justify why i must enjoy a show he doesn't like but whatever. It's a very fun and honestly incredibly animated adaptation that could easily triumph over the others in terms of style and designs of the worlds, but I get why some action heavy fanboys and lore obsessed goobers would be mixed with the new interpretation. Still it's my favorite recent tmnt series in a long time.

As for the skin alts idea for april, they can easily swap out or reskin her camera or microphone with a bat or Katana and make the alts have different sizes and attributes. That's just my suggestion. Obviously never gonna happen.

Re: Two New Characters Have Been Revealed For Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Dakotastomp

@nocdaes This is a nick game made by a pretty much indie studio. Ludosity and Gamemill don't have anything in the budget to make full on cinematic reveals. Now if this were THQ(Back in early 2000s), this game would be getting the full Ultimate experience, even convincing CN and Disney to join in and have Adventure time and The Owl house fight against Spongebob and friends, but no, it's a budget fighter.

Re: Two New Characters Have Been Revealed For Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Dakotastomp

@DragotheKomodo @link3710 it's possible they could come as costume alts, or at least that's just wishful thinking, but after how "everyone in the TMNT" Fanbase agreed Rise was the weakest revival of the franchise because "different = bad", it's possible Nick wants to win back the old fanboys who will buy anything 80's turtles related, which chronologically did air on CBS Saturday mornings back in the late 80's early 90's. Also Nostalgia is hot rn and this does look to be leaning more to the 90's era of nicktoons(Excluding the louds), so fit the theme with 80's turtles. Sorry, that's just my rambling take.
@DTFaux Make it 6. Catdog wasn't my favorite show from when I was a lad, but it is quite memorable for me, especially when they finally meet their parents.

Re: Two New Characters Will Be Revealed For Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl This Week

Dakotastomp

@dinofan37 it's just as likely to happen since game mill announced that they're making plans on the game and Nickelodeon(you keep spelling it wrong) is hands off they simply commissioned the developer Ludosity to make the game. They should be the ones to talk to about if voices will be included. Even then, Kart racers 1 & 2 were still fine games if basic and If you ever played the flash browser Super brawl games from Nick.com, they didn't have voices, bit they were still fun and original homages to Street fighter. We just have to wait and see what happens.

Re: Two New Characters Will Be Revealed For Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl This Week

Dakotastomp

Most likely ones already developed, so i'd say Aang and Korra, but hopefully we get Raphael and Donnie from TMNT in here too so we got the whole turtle team to battle as. Also would be a crime if they didn't include Jenny, Bessie, Otis, Tak, or the Glitch techs crew to the roster. Not very likely to happen, but it's wishful thinking.

EDIT: Also, just one last suggestion: ADD VOICE ACTING! CARTOON CHARACTERS ARE THEIR VOICES. A Nick fighting game without VAs is like fighting in a children's library.

Re: Court Orders Popular ROM Website To "Destroy" All Of Its Unauthorised Nintendo Games

Dakotastomp

And this is why we need to preserve these classic games and unofficial roms, because Nintendo doesn't care about the classics unless it gets them a few million bucks of instant nostalgia for that month. How are small indie rom sites hurting you, Nintendo? Because you don't get money from people who want to play the classics you forgot about? Tough s**t! Start preserving more of your history.

Re: Random: This Might Just Be The Longest Title We've Ever Seen For A Nintendo Switch Game

Dakotastomp

@AndyC_MK that's exactly what my opinion on this. I know I'm not part of the audience or demographic they're trying to reach with this, but i do know that A Western audience's morality isn't going to effect the views or opinions of a Non-American team because we all have our own cultural values. "Live and let live" as they say. It's all about perspective to me and i view it through the perspective of someone who respects other cultures artistic views and don't let my beliefs get in the way. I have no jurisdiction over them or their art because I'm not the audience and I'm not paying them to make it to my taste. I'm also seeing this as someone who has seen enough anime to know the style used here and see this as extremely generic and casual by anime standards, but i guess that's who they're trying to aim for, the casual gamer who's into the stereotypes of anime jrpgs. It would be a totally different story if they used lolis instead. That would deffinetly raise red flags.

All in all, i respect that you and the others find it disturbing and weird since not everyone is going to like this art style and you'll most likely base your opinion on the game simply on that alone. I'd rather wait on gameplay footage before bashing the game. Probably best that you avoid the game all together since it's no doubt going to be what you expected.

However, I do have to disagree with the sinister part of it. I've seen far, FAR more sinister games sold on steam and this one doesn't even scratch the surface of the content some of those games have, at least not design-wise imo. But hey, you do you, imma do me. I'm gonna go play an actually decent game now because i don't want to have to come back to this topic.
