Square-Enix has posted a new trailer for the upcoming Switch release of NieR: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition, putting the focus squarely on supporting protagonist 9S (or 'YoRHa No.9 Type S', to use the full name).
As a Scanner model android, 9S prefers more investigative measures over brute force. He's also keenly curious about the world around him and is more outgoing and friendly than his counterpart, 2B.
In a previous trailer, we took a look at NieR: Automata's main protagonist 2B, who - with her trusty sword at hand - fights against the machine lifeforms that have taken over the planet.
Square-Enix is looking to launch NieR: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition on Switch on October 6th, 2022. The game will come packaged with the "3C3C1D119440927" DLC along with some bonus challenges and costumes to enjoy.
Wil you be picking up NieR: Automata when it launches on Switch in October? Let us know in the comments!

I feel so unbelievably jealous Of people who can play this for the first time
I do hope the game looks as good running as in the trailers!
Nier will be a treat.
Buying a copy on general principle, it's Platinum's best work.
With this and Persona 5 Royal finally coming to Switch, I'm officially done with Switch port begging.
@Miles_Edgeworth I never understood this sentiment personally. Whenever I want to play something that I really care for I'll do it as fast as I can, and it usually makes me much more realized knowing I was one of the first ones there at launch, talking about the game with other passionate fans and witnessing everything together. Playing something much, much later doesn't feel like something I would be jealous of.
@Bizzyb the only game I am missing for the Switch is Xenoblade Chronicles X, then I will be done
@Tountoes I get what you mean, but I’m thinking more about just from the side of being able to experience the emotions I had playing the game for the first time again, becuase it was such an incredible experience.
Put my pre-order in for this and Death's Door today from Best Buy. I'm excited to play this in handheld mode on my Switch OLED!
If it runs as good as it looks I’ll be more than happy adding it to the collection.
2B is a decoy protagonist, while 9S and A2 are main protagonists. Funny and interesting fact.
Can't wait to play this for the first time. October is gonna be one heck of a month for the Switch.
Two of the best (previously exclusive) PS4 games are hitting Switch next month. Busy times if you've never played them before.
If it's a good port, I might double-dip at some point.
I actually held off on the remaster of the first NieR, so I'd be thrilled if that was ported as well.
@shinokami LOL true I suppose...though I thought port begging didn't count if it's 1st party 😅
If it wasn’t for all the acclaim this game has from fans, I would totally ignore it.
Looks silly. But people have such high praise. I’m wondering if it’s worth it for me to try it. 🤔
Might be another one that has to be put on hold. Dang N with their dang scheduling. Splatoon 3 might also be on the backburner if I can't finish XC3 in time.
@Tountoes Wasn’t the point actually “I am jealous of people who still have this joy ahead of them, as it already lies behind me”?
As for the game, I feel I should watch 1-2 trailers before I buy it, but I’m aware it got high praise… glad they’re porting it then
Damn it, my phone's gained sentience!
First time I'm playing this game, hope it lives up to the hype! I caught the soundtrack of this game once and I fell in love with it!
9S story is incredible, really subverts what you expect for him.
@Miles_Edgeworth I understood what you meant. I’m trying so hard not to double-dip, as I preordered when the PC version was about to be released. This and Astral Chain are in that place where I wish I could feel that excitement re-playing it as when I first played.
I can't wait to play this again.
After finishing XC 3 I have a feeling that other rpgs will fall short in comparison. I guess this is different enough to warrant a purchase, though.
@Ryan_Again I also ignored it at first. I thought people were just hot for the sexy maid android. Now I own two copies of the soundtrack (without the incredible music this game is just a 9) and I've already preordered the Switch version.
@cvrator Interesting. I have read about the insane level of depth to the lore or concepts beneath the game. This is the stuff I love about Xenogears and Xenoblade Chronicles 1 & 3. I’m lining up for Persona cuz I’ve never played it before. I wonder if Nier would fit between XBC3 and Persona? Maybe not right? I wonder which I should prioritize? (Persona vs Nier)
