After multiple delays on the Switch, the remastered collection of Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm is finally launching next month on September 27th, 2022. Branded as Life is Strange: Arcadia Bay Collection, the release includes all previous updates for the games and has been fully optimised for the Switch, with both physical and digital options available.
Here's the official run down from Square-Enix:
Experience two award-winning Life is Strange games on Nintendo Switch for the very first time! Rewind time with Max Caulfield and uncover the secrets of Arcadia Bay alongside Chloe Price. Meet an unforgettable cast of characters across two gripping stories – with remastered visuals and upgraded animations now optimized for the Nintendo Switch.
Illuminated by its iconic lighthouse, this small town on the Oregon Coast has seen more than its fair share of mysteries. The disappearance of Rachel Amber. Government corruption. Family secrets. A raging forest fire. A supernatural storm. As Max and as Chloe, your choices will shape the past, present, and future of Arcadia Bay.
The release follows on from Life is Strange: True Colors, which launched on the Switch back in 2021. In our review of the game, we said that despite some reduced visual fidelity on Nintendo's console, the overall narrative is well worth checking out thanks to a stellar performance from its lead protagonist.

Surprised its getting a (semi) physical release. It's also £34.99 so not bad. I'll snap this up for sure
When LIS first came out, I loved it. Since, there have been so many different releases I've lost interest. Anyone keeping up with the series... worth it?
Something to note is that the physical release includes the first game while the second is through a download code.
I'll be picking up a physical copy asap! I bought True Colors on sale for PS5 because of the delayed Switch version, but I'll pick up a copy for Switch when it goes on sale.
Edit: Since both games won't be available on the cart, I'll wait for a price drop of around $20 to pick it up.
Did any of the music from the original game get cut? That was an amazing soundtrack.
As long as it's physical and digital last resort.. BUT NO CLOUD.
@Jamessmooth LIS is fantastic. In some ways, the first is still possibly my favorite in some ways, but I like most of them about the same. From a story perspective, the first one is the best, and the rewind feature is the most interesting, for sure. I would say that True Colors is a better overall game though with a better cast, even if I prefer the first game’s story. If LIS is a good set of bones, True Colors has flesh, if that analogy makes sense. LIS2 is inferior to the first one and True Colors in how polished it is, but I think the protagonists are my favorite of the games and, even though the plot is a little more choppy, it hooked me in pretty deeply. Honestly, the three games hit me in the feels and I’d give all three of them a 9/10. My wife got me a LIS2 t-shirt after we finished that one and my sister got me a True Colors t-shirt for Christmas and I wear them all the time. Lol.
That said, I’m not a fan of Before the Storm. I know that’s not a popular fan opinion, but I just felt like Chloe was a grating protagonist and the back talk mechanic wasn’t nearly as fun as the supernatural abilities from the other games. Honestly, it felt like an unnecessary prequel to me, but that’s just my two cents.
Looking forward to wherever the series goes next though!
As I'm still fairly new to the Switch, I was surprised when I looked on the eShop last week and saw that True Colors was the only Life is Strange game on Switch as the series is a perfect fit for it. Well, that explains it. I loved all 3 games (not including Life is Strange 2, which I haven't played yet), but I'm not sure if I'll rebuy them for the Switch or just stick to the PlayStation versions if I ever get the urge to play the series again.
I guess somehow these games combined are more than 16 GBs. You wouldn't think so as they aren't big games even on the PS4 and the PS5 (True Colors is only 12 GB on the PS5). Since I don't see another company publishing this collection on two cards, I guess that will have to do.
Im atill playing true colors, but definitely interested in grabbing this collection eventually.
half the "collection" is a digital download?
no thanks!
I'll keep the physical editions of both games for my PS4 thank you very much.
@Jamessmooth After having played LiS 2 I can say that the first season is definitely much better, and with BtS the story of Max, Chloe, and Rachel is fleshed out even more and brought full circle to a satisfying but bitter/sweet conclusion. If you're looking for a quality narrative that has weight and lasting meaning, I'd stick with those. Not that LiS 2 is incomplete necessarily or doesn't have weight to its story, it's just that it's not done near as well, and the characters are not as iconic. As for True Colors, I have not played it, so I can't give too much comment on it, but from what I've heard from players, it's a mixed bag of good and bad.
Hell yes. Definitely picking up the physical version!
Been waiting on this. Got True Colors digitally and the full cart JP physical release with English.
Fully intend on doing the same here.
