@ComfyAko Yeah, I get that. I thought I'd made it clear enough in my comment. Although loads of bad companies and people benefit from things you buy and use all the time. Going into that properly would take some time though. What I was actually questioning is whether not people fearing SA will influence Nintendo is warranted or not. Do they get a voice? What would they even ask for? Is there any precedence? It feels like people are worrying over nothing when it comes to investor influence unless I missed something. Oh, and people acting like it was Nintendo that went to SA asking for the deal when it's apparent that anyone can buy Nintendo's stocks. Hopefully people will actually think before boycotting, but that's on them.
So a lot of people seem worried. That some of the money they give to Nintendo goes to Saudi Arabia is an issue I can understand. But will SA have literally any influence whatsoever? I mean anything that could actually matter or be noticable? In fact, has Nintendo done anything in the past few years that was a result of their investors' influence? Or does Nintendo just tell investors they'll 'think about and consider' their suggestions and shuts them up with all the money they make?
Has anyone else ever been bothered by how on their site it'll sometimes say a game comes with a free bonus but it never actually states what the bonus even is on the product page?
@Ulysses Then what's this "in-house high fantasy IP" that Monolith is apparently working on that you want them to "scrap" if not Xenoblade? Monolith helps on a lot of titles but I don't think they've focused on their own IPs other than the Xenoblade series for quite some time now. I know Monolith Soft helps with a lot of Nintendo games, but I think it'd take more than those teams to make a whole game. If they had that much personel to spare then perhaps they would make a spin-off, probably of their own series before doing other IPs. I mean, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and maybe Monolith could make some great RPG spin-offs of otherwise, but personally I think it'd be in bad taste. Especially if they're just reskinning previous games. It's clear from poorly optimised games like ACNH that some of Nintendo's divisions need Monolith Soft's expertise in world design and they were lucky enough to have Nintendo's full support in creating their own JRPGs in their vision with a massive budget and dev time which let to major titles with tons of content like XC2 and XC3. To take away some of the time, talent and money for spin-offs of other titles would be insulting. And trying to make a spin-off with staff that were working on other Nintendo games might work, or lead to something sub-par whilst other Nintendo games suffer. It just wouldn't be worth it. At least that's what I think. If they could continue focusing on the Xeno series like they always have whilst making a quality spin-off RPG of their own IP or one of Nintendo's then I'd love that too. God knows Mario & Luigi needs a comeback. And the fact that Zelda still hasn't gotten a RPG spin-off is criminal.
@ElRoberico You're not entirely wrong, but Alear is 17. In the same sense that Link is also "17" because he was asleep for 100 years and hasn't aged physically or mentally since. So making a ton of platonic endings for characters around Alear's age in the localisation is an odd choice. And apparently they can have romantic endings with people much older than them. Not sure what they'd be 'underage' for, but I'm pretty sure teens being in a relationship or even getting engaged is legal.
Ah, so the genderless pronouns were for Alear? Yeah, makes sense. In Three Houses everyone just calls you Professor and your dad calls you 'kid' so I had a feeling it was due to limitations or something. It's not woke, but still bad though. Characters will say that you're a man or a woman or handsome etc. in certain dialogue, and in Fates you'd explicitly be called a prince or princess and he or she there so it does come across as laziness when they can't do it for the Switch titles, though I'm not sure who's at fault. And yeah, FE could certainly do with better voice directors. Three Houses is decent, but Fates had some really bad takes and from what I've seen of Engage I'd say it needed way better voice actors and direction in a lot of areas.
@PerishSong Oh. Well at least he didn't mention race like some people thought he meant. That is weird though. Things like the church or some guy in power being the villain is a JRPG staple. In fact it's part of what makes games like Bravely Default and Three Houses more refreshing (although that's a matter of perspective sometimes). Things like same-sex marriage have been in FE before too. And I guess genderless pronouns are fine when the character in question literally has no gender, which isn't impossible in a fantasy series like FE. There being more platonic endings in the localisation is a legitimate complaint I've been hearing on Twitter a lot, but that's more a NoA problem than a wokeness problem. I was curious about what he considered to be woke, but I guess he was just trolling after all. "Well at least he's not racist."
@Ulysses I'm willing to bet Monolith Soft is already working with the FE devs on their games since they have their hand in most of Nintendo's major projects. But expecting them to abandon the Xeno series to focus solely on Fire Emblem? That's just crazy. And blasphemous. TL;DR: I REALLY hope you're joking.
Some people have a very, very odd definition of 'gacha game' which is where you get most of your characters by buying items that give you to them at random. Rather than TRPG that simply have a lot of characters you can get via the story itself or optional stuff like paralogues. Or Disgaea's character creation for generic units/classes. If you're not buying them and unlocking them at random like Fire Emblem Heroes then it's probably not gacha. Something like the core crystals in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is close to gacha because you collect items that summon Blades mostly at random, but you don't buy for them, they're all found in game. Besides DLC blades, but those are specific Blades, not random ones. Anyways, I think the game is shaping up to be great, but the localisation has me worried with Treehouse up to their old tricks. Seems like the social sim aspect is lacking almost purely because they've messed with the supports. I'm worried about the quality of the voice acting as well. It'd be fine if it seemed like the social part was less focused on just because it's garreg mach stuff but completely optional. But if it also seems toned down just because the localisers were dragging the support convos through the mud then they have my eternal loathing. This is just me ranting, but you'd think they enjoy watching people finding out and hating their dialogue changes with how much effort they put into it. Or lack thereof. Disgraceful.
As an above post mentioned (along with pirating for some reason), the article doesn't include the spin-off games on the 3DS, Persona Q and Persona Q2. Persona Q is a Persona 3 and 4 crossover. Persona Q2 is similar, but also includes the Persona 5 cast as well as the FeMC from Persona 3. I haven't played Persona 3 or 4 but I was able to get into Persona Q by watched the Persona 3 movies and Persona 4 anime series. If you don't plan on playing Persona 3 and 4 then I'd recommend watching their anime at well. Very entertaining. I was able to get almost every single reference in Persona Q just from watching them, so I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. Might help you enjoy Persona 5 Royal as well. Persona 5 also has an anime, but I decided not to watch it just in case Persona 5 was ported to the Switch one day, and it finally was! Once I get round to playing and completing it, I can play Persona Q2.
I watched the Persona 3 Movies and Persona 4 Anime so I could get into Persona Q. So I already know how the plot goes for these games. But it could be fun exploring the world and fighting the bosses myself. Especially for Persona 3 since the movie glosses over a lot of stuff. So I might try them in the future if they go on sale and I have time. Certainly going to play Persona 5 on Christmas or my birthday this year though.
Akiba's Trip got an anime I watched a long time ago. It seems a bit different to this though. Like the main character's design is completely different and he has a little sister. I can't really remember the anime that well actually, but it was pretty funny and each episode featured a different, obscure, niche hobby. Anyways, this actually looks like it might be fun. I'd like to give it a try if the gameplay is actually any good, but I've already got tons of games to play and look forward to next year, so it's not too likely. *The white glow won't be present in the final version lol, good.
Of course we need more 'Toon' Link! He's only had two home console appearances, and one was a remaster! Though personally, I didn't like Phantom Hourglass and returning to the same dungeon over and over, but I LOVED spirit tracks and its use of trains and spirit Zelda! I actually couldn't get into A Link Between Worlds either. In any case, Toon Link deserves another grand home console adventure! I don't care if it's only once a boody decade, just give me more of one of the most charming games in existence!
The real tragedy here is that a video featuring ZELTIK of all people got taken down. I don't think I've seen it yet. You guys don't realise what a major loss this is to humanity. But speaking seriously for a moment, this does suck. And doesn't make sense because both Zeltik, DYKG etc. have documented unreleased video game titles before and never got strikes. So why this one? Two possible answers A. It was just someone posing as Nintendo to have the video taken down. I've heard of this happening before, even on sites besides YouTube. YouTube usually just takes videos down first and asks questions later. B. Nintendo's lawyers use their own judgement and one of them decided this video in particular should be taken down, not realising how many similar videos are around on YouTube. Like do they a quota they need to meet? It's the only reason I can think of as to how random it all seems. Like if they were super serious about this we'd see video game OSTs and Nintendo history videos taken down WAY more often, but that's not the case. If this is Nintendo's doing they really need someone more down to earth leading the legal team, or better guidelines.
Oh, and third companies can't break an NDA, right? It's between the participants that signed it. I doubt DYKG has signed anything with Nintendo so I don't know why they're bringing it up. Also, just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Even if Nintendo is within their rights to take down the video, why should they? What does this achieve? Researching video game history and turning into an interesting video takes time and effort. I don't think people realise that having videos like these taken down for no good reason feels like a slap to the face after all the work you put into it. And it disappoints your audience too.
I've heard that the Japanese call him cat-eye Link for a while now, so it's no surprise. They even draw him more cat-like features and costumes sometimes! But honestly for me, Toon Link just refers to Wind Waker Link when he's in Smash bros. Or 'Tink' on occasion. Otherwise he's just Wind Waker/WW/Wind Link. Or just Link, lol. Wind Waker is the first Zelda game I've ever completed and fell in love with, so that Link is one of my fav Links.
With a name like Brodia and valuing strength I thought it's representative would be a bit more of a muscle head or jock, but these characters are interesting. Pessimistic, low self-esteem AND sociable? That's an interesting mix. Also, these two share the same class name but use different weapons? That's new to me, but I think Three Houses has a similar concept with everyone starting out as Commoners or Nobles, right? It'll be interesting to see how classes and skills work, then.
People have said this already, but this looks to be a great improvement over the first game that was already great! More and better animations, more immersive and meaningful character interactions with bloody voice acting! A whole bloody ship we can customise! And everything just looks even more gorgeous than last time! Now THAT'S a sequel! Can't wait for the Limited Edition to be announced! Also, that's Zoro's VA for the new Mechant I'm pretty sure! Funny how Zoro usually sounds so serious but his VA often voices more energetic and eccentric guys like Partitio here.
The voice direction in this game is incredible. Somehow there's not a single voice I find grating or unfitting. It's leaps and bounds from XC2's voice direction. Noah's voice is great, and Harry's range is exquisite too. To the point where I needed the two characters he plays in the same room for me to realise he's playing the both of them. I sincerely hope all of XC's future games have voice acting and direction of this quality.
@TheAbsol Before I get into it, I want to make it perfectly clear that the problem isn't XC2 or the series itself, it's that it doesn't match your tastes. And you make it sound like it should be to your tastes. In any case, yes, there is symbolism in their designs. I can't say this for every character but I can go through two for you. The symbolism in Pyra and Mythra's design is how Pyra's clothes include parts that aren't present in Mythra's clothes and vice versa. Like how Pyra's clothes cover most of her legs, but Mythra's doesn't. Or parts of their arms. And Dahlia is very sexy outwardly and Dahlia herself values beauty, but believes any beautiful thing people make, including herself, pale in comparison to the beauty of nature. And believes that being beautiful on the inside is what really matters. So basically her visible beauty contrasts her value of inner and natural beauty. But anyway, you can't tell me the XC games want you to take them seriously then complain about how silly some of the scenes are. A game doesn't have to serious and stoic the whole way through. Yes, the games are about killing, genocide, revenge etc. but you also have tiny furballs that make great merchants riding in giant maidbots, pretending to be heroes or almost getting eaten every week. You don't need to take yourself seriously for the entire story. If you don't appreciate those comedic moments then that's on you.
Rex waking up next to Mythra might be a bit cheesy, but if that kind of rom-com stuff makes you cringe, again, that's on you. Oh, and I haven't met anyone who's only into XC2 for what you described. I'm not sure what kind of circles you're hanging in, but it sounds like to me you're just focusing on a smaller portion of the fandom and then acting like they're a big, vocal problem. Or maybe you just don't like anime tropes so you see anyone that does as just being an obnoxious fanboy. Because it'd be a shame if people actually liked XC2 for what it is, right?
Oh, and people are far too hard on Tora. To the point where I wonder if they actually played the game. Tora is a mechanic that literally bit the super fighting robot his dad and grandad start because they can't be Drivers naturally and aspires to be brave and noble like Rex is. Yes, Poppi could probably fight on her own as well, but Poppi wants Tora as her Driver. Yes, Tora has a pervy side, but that's mostly towards Poppi's older looking forms and even then is brought up only once in the main game and then in some hearts to hearts etc. afterwards. To say Tora only exists to perv on Poppi is just being incredibly pessimistic and looking for flaws. It's as bad as if I were only cherry picking all the best bits on XC2 to make it sound great. I mean, I could. But I'd rather admit that a lot of things are subjective. Tora was far more useful than Tatsu at least. If you don't like him, then fine. But to reduce him to nothing more than a perv is factually inaccurate.
@TheAbsol # Wasn't expecting a reply to this today. Eh. If you think risque character designs don't suit Xenoblade then I have a hard time believing you're 'fine' with them at all. Personally, I don't think it's a big deal and is down to personal preference, but since you said it doesn't 'suit' Xenoblade I'll pick on that point. If risque just means showing skin then that's been a thing since XC1 with zero/beach clothes and Fiora's alternate forms showing plenty of skin. XC:DE expanded on this with more outfits. And at first I admit that I thought Melia showing so much skin would be out of character, but then realised even her default outfit shows cleavage. All the main girls do at some point. And after XC we got XCX which was FULL of ugly aliens with sexy bodies. Like every enemy Xeno has a female form showing skin. There's even a squid xeno boss thing with most of her bum showing. And that's not even getting into some of the outfits some of the female playable characters can wear, including bunny costumes. One of the friendly Xenos that end up making gear for the BLADES even said that they were inspired by human media (anime?) and found that when it comes to designs we generally prefer female outfits to show more skin. Compared to all that, XC2 was fairly tame outside of 3 Blades. I'm not sure what a series needs to be 'suited' for risque character designs, but I don't see an actual reason not to have them in this series. Even some characters in XC3 have that mark on their chests. The bottom line is that things like tastes in character designs or even gameplay are subjective. Maybe you don't enjoy either in XC2 but that doesn't really mean that they should've been different. I personally like both so I'm glad it came out as is. As for obnoxious fans, I'm not sure who you're referring to, but for me it's people that keep complaining about character designs like it ruins the entire game not even noticing the symbolism or meaning behind some of them, or thinking that people play XC2 for that alone are the obnoxious ones. Maybe you did too? And the anime-ish style was because XCX was very western leaning and the devs wanted something more expressive. It seems very common for game series to have two very different styles and then kind of mesh them together for one definitive style afterwards. So XCX and XC2 lead to XC3. TL:DR; Everyone has their own tastes and opinions, but there's nothing objectively wrong with XC's style and risque character's 'belonging' in the series is a vague notion, but clearly the devs and characters want it there which is a good enough reason, and personally I love most things about the series including this, so it's fine if it stays the course. Apparently the tut in XC2 sucks but I understood the mechanic just fine and got used to it quickly. It does start slow though, I will admit.
Meh. I think context would help, but touching your almost-girlfriends face cheek isn't that big a deal. Still, I feel like holding her hand is more in-character for Shulk, so not a bad move. Anyways, play XC2. If you liked XC1, fan service doesn't make you recoil and you have some level of common sense, you should honestly love XC2. I've heard complaints about the early tuts and it does take a while for the battle mechanics to really open up, but besides that it's a great game that improves on the original in several ways. The battle mechanic is expanded upon and more fun with special attacks being far more dynamic, the music is amazing, the different areas like Uraya are beautiful, the gacha blades are only annoying if you want to unlock a specific or ultra rare blade, but otherwise it can be a rather enjoyable way to unlock great characters that get their own character arc/sidequest. And people are always picky about character design, but I like XC2's. There's a lot more thought than people give it credit for and it's done by more than one artist. In fact, the rare blades are done by tons of artists, including women. I could promote the game all day, like how the plot has some mature themes like slavery and life and how the main heroine has PTSD, but to truly understand a game you have to play it yourself. So yeah, if you like XC1 and fan service doesn't make you faint then there's really no reason not to try XC2.
This just reminds me of when I was playing Bayo 2 around Christmas and my nieces and nephews etc. had no problem with the gore and stuff from the first few levels. So I don't think I'll use it, but it's good for those that want it. It's Bayonetta, the game the series that Nintendo themselves said needed a more revealing design for Bayo's Link outfit. It was never going to be fully censored, but that demon form design is pretty cool even in Naive Angel Mode. What's funny is people saying 'they don't care' about Bayo's nudity but still state they'll make the active choice to turn if off. There's a slight difference between not caring about something and actively trying to avoid something.
"Oh, CULT! I thought it said cu- Wait, a cult?!" Literally my reaction when I saw this, lol. Seems interesting and well animated, but I'm always hesitant to enter into anything literally Satanic. Although SMTV was pretty good...
It might've been a good thing that I was young and blind to public opinion when Wind Waker came out. Because it was one of my first Zelda entries (I had the OOT/WW double pack on GC) and I absolutely adored it. Shame most people couldn't see it's charm back in the day, but everyone sings its praises now. The Zelda effect is an odd one.
Wait, why is it 'lazy'? Can't you give your audience a rough idea of what to expect and then diverge into a deeper explanation of the game, it's essence and inspirations? Like, it's a starting point. If a game is 'inspired' by Zelda or BOTW that's not enough to make me think it will be good, but it gives me an idea into the style of the game from the get go. I'm sure the actual article wasn't seriously saying that comparing games to other games is bad, but a lot of people in the comments seem to think it's lazy at least. Sounds like a decent starting point to me. Assuming you've played those games.
Although I haven't played a lot of games mentioned in this article, haha.
Yay! I loved Labyrinth of Refrain! The art of the puppets you control is gorgeous and the monsters are either cute as well or more likely completely hideous! The game as a whole has a great, Disgaea-ish witch aesthetic and mixes some comedic scenes with some gruesome, bitter ones. And I'm sure this one will keep up the quality! I just hope I can make time for it when it realises. I still need to do Refrain's first ending. I believe Refrain has a demo if anyone wants to try it out! It's how I was convinced to buy the full game. People might compare it to Etrian Odyssey, but I very much prefer this series. Persona Q on the 3DS does EO better than EO itself too, in my opinion.
I think some characters have mentioned Smash Bros in their respective series, haven't they? Whether it's canon or not seems to depend on the series or game. But it doesn't really matter. Kirby not getting his own Keyblade is what matters. What do you think the conversations were like?
Sakurai: Alright, that's Sora's move set done! So about Kirby's Sora copy ability. Spiky brown hair and a Kirby Keyblade, right? Nomura: Yeah.... about that. See, only the CHOSEN can wield a keyblade. So I think having a pink alien puffball be a chosen one would kinda, sorta ruin the lore entirely. Sakurai: Nani?! My greatest creation, my own SON, is not worthy of holding an oversized key?! Nomura: Oversized key?! How dare you!!
And it just escalated from there until Kirby got that weird NOT-keyblade.
Jerrom....No... I can't believe he's gone. I haven't played Three House or Three Hopes yet, but it's heartbreaking knowing that such a clearly beloved character's voice won't be heard in the future. I'm glad he was able to fight cancer long enough to voice for Three Hopes though. From what I've heard, he was a strong, admirable soul. Thank you, Billy. May you rest in peace.
It's kinda scary that something so insignificant from not even Nintendo themselves can gain some much interest and so many comments. If it's just for fun then I suppose it's okay. Personally, I'd kill for a new Switch game with Wind Waker's style. When's the last time 'Toon' Link got any love?
A sea bass! No wait---it's at least a C+! @Chocobo_Shepherd I honestly hope you're joking too. It's just a clever joke about an animation project. No one is taking this as seriously as you are. Chillax.
@RR529 What's embarrassing is knowing some people here can't imagine playing a video game in public because breasts exist. Sounds shallow to me. But then I prefer playing docked anyways.
People complain about XC2's designs being too weird, fantastical, impractical other whatever. Then XC3's designs become more normal and people complain that they look too generic. You really and truly can't please everyone, can you? And yes, the artist is the same as XC2's. I want to remind you all that this is the series that started with sexy machine people, then sexy (yet hideous) alien people, then sexy almost-humans. It looks like we'll get more outfits anyways considering Noah has his black attire too. I'd rather wait a bit more before complaining about character design, but I think it's pretty cool so far.
As a Brit, I actually like hearing decent British accents in video games. We get American accents like 90% of the time and when we finally get something not-American people lose their minds. Although, I don't think the first XC game had 'a variety of regional accents'. It's only XC2 that expanded on them. The voices in XC3 seem to be mostly the same by comparison. Also, XC2 had really, really bad voice direction so I'm hoping XC3 gets a better one and I fully enjoy the English Dub. It seems like we won't have to hear Rex's voice this time so that's already a plus.
Wow, it's out this month? That's very soon. Played the first one in December and loved it. I really want to play this one too, but Triangle Strategy is out soon and I have other JRPGs to get around to. Still, the card designs look as beautiful as ever. I'll be sure to get into this once I have the time.
I tried making videos and scenes entirely in Animal Crossing. But this is far beyond that. Can't imagine the insane amount of time and effort it would take to create videos like this. Some very short shots would take ages because you can only control the animal villagers so much. Bravo!
@Purgatorium In context, war broke out in their world between the three nations over salt and iron: The 'Saltiron War'. And it sounds like you may have to kill a key figure in nation that has the most salt to participate in the dark dealings. I'm sure once you get to that part of the game the weight of the decision will be clear, lol.
As soon as I heard that familiar Bravely music my eyes lit up. My memory of the game awards isn't that great but I'll never forget how excited I was to see another Bravely game announced.
I hope it's DLC for BDII. It felt like there was a lot of potential to add more stuff to the game both lore-wise and battle-wise. I never did get my Summoner job back! And the ending leaves a lot of questions unanswered. But I'll be glad if we get anything that's not just a mobile game.
I can't believe so many people are defending Day 1 DLC. You're paying MORE for content that could've easily have been in the base game, or day 1 FREE DLC like the Safety mode. "Oh, but they're a BUSINESS! They're meant to take your money." That doesn't mean any and all business practices are perfectly acceptable. Wasn't really planning on buying this anytime soon but I feel bad for the fans that know of the DLC's worth and have a paywall for certain returning characters. Only bright side is that Atlus does have some decent sales from time to time. DLC being on sale is something I like to see.
Do you know how long it took me to scroll down here? lol Anyways, I just want a GOOD Mario movie. I mean, I'll see it either way because it's Mario, but I want to walk out with a smile on my face. I can see why they didn't want Charles voicing Mario for over an hour, but I'm really glad he's still involved! Maybe Wario and Waluigi will appear too. I mean, even DK is getting a voice. Which will be weird. Oh and Charles isn't "passing on the torch" lol. It just means Mario will have a different voice THIS movie. And maybe any sequels. I'm sure Charles will still stick around as Mario's voice in other media. I just hope the Movie voice is good. Maybe it'll be like watching that old Super Mario cartoon with the Brooklyn accents. Pfft.
At least one person here already mentioned it, but fishing in Animal Crossing games is probably the one thing I can do literally with my eyes closed. The audio cue of the fish simply poking the bait compared to the PLOP sound of it actually biting is significant enough that I can catch any fish in New Leaf or New Horizons by sound alone. Usually the visual cue that is looking for when the fish bites would actually make it harder. Sidenote: I need glasses and without even playing FE Three Houses I know that the text size is atrocious. Usually I can read gaming text with no problems but UGH, 3DS games have bigger text. Apparently it's a localisation thing. On the other hand, ACNH's MASSIVE text makes it so easy to read it's gorgeous.
Ugh, I hate it when they say the sequel "could even be a smartphone release". They the same thing about Bravely Second and we never got that either. What we have gotten is are more mobile games, including one a few months after BDII came out. Surely they've made enough of those and we can hope for another console release thanks to BDII being so well received? I bought BDII at release and even after over 200 hours of that, I'm eagerly awaiting more!

Re: Saudi Arabia's PIF Is Reportedly Now Nintendo's Biggest Outside Investor
@ComfyAko
Yeah, I get that.
Re: Saudi Arabia's PIF Raises Stake In Nintendo For The Second Time This Year
So a lot of people seem worried.

Re: UK Charts: Fire Emblem Engage Tumbles Down To Seventh Place
Re: UK Charts: Fire Emblem Engage Tumbles Down To Seventh Place
@ElRoberico
You're not entirely wrong, but Alear is 17.
Re: UK Charts: Fire Emblem Engage Tumbles Down To Seventh Place
@PerishSong
Oh.
Re: UK Charts: Fire Emblem Engage Tumbles Down To Seventh Place
@Ulysses
I'm willing to bet Monolith Soft is already working with the FE devs on their games since they have their hand in most of Nintendo's major projects. But expecting them to abandon the Xeno series to focus solely on Fire Emblem? That's just crazy. And blasphemous.
TL;DR: I REALLY hope you're joking.

@PerishSong
What did he say?
Re: Review: Fire Emblem Engage - Relationships Get Sidelined By A Thrilling Combat-First Focus
Re: Persona On Switch - All Games, Where To Start, Beginner's Guide, FAQs
Re: Atlus Shares More Details On Persona 3 And Persona 4 For Switch
I watched the Persona 3 Movies and Persona 4 Anime so I could get into Persona Q. So I already know how the plot goes for these games. But it could be fun exploring the world and fighting the bosses myself. Especially for Persona 3 since the movie glosses over a lot of stuff. So I might try them in the future if they go on sale and I have time. Certainly going to play Persona 5 on Christmas or my birthday this year though.
Re: Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed Is A Game About Taking Off People's Clothes
*The white glow won't be present in the final version
lol, good.
Re: Talking Point: As Zelda: Wind Waker Turns 20, Doesn't Toon Link Deserve A Second Chance?
Of course we need more 'Toon' Link! He's only had two home console appearances, and one was a remaster!
Though personally, I didn't like Phantom Hourglass and returning to the same dungeon over and over, but I LOVED spirit tracks and its use of trains and spirit Zelda! I actually couldn't get into A Link Between Worlds either.
In any case, Toon Link deserves another grand home console adventure! I don't care if it's only once a boody decade, just give me more of one of the most charming games in existence!
Re: Popular YouTube Channel 'Did You Know Gaming' Receives Copyright Strike For Heroes Of Hyrule Video
Two possible answers
Re: Poll: Is Zelda: Wind Waker's Hero Called 'Cat-Eye Link'?
I've heard that the Japanese call him cat-eye Link for a while now, so it's no surprise. They even draw him more cat-like features and costumes sometimes!
But honestly for me, Toon Link just refers to Wind Waker Link when he's in Smash bros. Or 'Tink' on occasion. Otherwise he's just Wind Waker/WW/Wind Link. Or just Link, lol.
Wind Waker is the first Zelda game I've ever completed and fell in love with, so that Link is one of my fav Links.
Re: Fire Emblem Engage Introduces Two New Characters
With a name like Brodia and valuing strength I thought it's representative would be a bit more of a muscle head or jock, but these characters are interesting.
Pessimistic, low self-esteem AND sociable? That's an interesting mix. Also, these two share the same class name but use different weapons? That's new to me, but I think Three Houses has a similar concept with everyone starting out as Commoners or Nobles, right? It'll be interesting to see how classes and skills work, then.
Re: Square Enix Releases Second Official Trailer For Octopath Traveler II
People have said this already, but this looks to be a great improvement over the first game that was already great! More and better animations, more immersive and meaningful character interactions with bloody voice acting! A whole bloody ship we can customise! And everything just looks even more gorgeous than last time! Now THAT'S a sequel!
Can't wait for the Limited Edition to be announced!
Also, that's Zoro's VA for the new Mechant I'm pretty sure!
Funny how Zoro usually sounds so serious but his VA often voices more energetic and eccentric guys like Partitio here.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Noah Voice Actor Thanks Fans For "Outpouring Of Love"
Re: Random: Xenoblade Chronicles' Shulk Cutscene Was Originally 'A Little Creepy'
@TheAbsol
Before I get into it, I want to make it perfectly clear that the problem isn't XC2 or the series itself, it's that it doesn't match your tastes.
Re: Random: Xenoblade Chronicles' Shulk Cutscene Was Originally 'A Little Creepy'
@TheAbsol #
Wasn't expecting a reply to this today.
Re: Random: Xenoblade Chronicles' Shulk Cutscene Was Originally 'A Little Creepy'
Re: Poll: So, How Do You Pronounce 'Live A Live'?
It's "Live Alive"
Like 'We're coming at you LIVE' and 'The Legend is Alive'.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Has A "Naive Angel Mode" For People Who Don't Want To See Bums

Re: Miyamoto Wasn't A Fan Of The Art Style In Zelda: Wind Waker
It might've been a good thing that I was young and blind to public opinion when Wind Waker came out. Because it was one of my first Zelda entries (I had the OOT/WW double pack on GC) and I absolutely adored it. Shame most people couldn't see it's charm back in the day, but everyone sings its praises now. The Zelda effect is an odd one.
Re: Soapbox: Why Do We Talk About Games By Comparing Them To Other Games?
Re: Labyrinth of Galleria: The Moon Society Dungeon Crawls Onto Switch in 2023
Re: Tetsuya Nomura Reveals He Was "Picky" About Sora In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Re: Fire Emblem And Pokémon Voice Actor Billy Kametz Has Passed Away
Jerrom....No...
I can't believe he's gone.
I haven't played Three House or Three Hopes yet, but it's heartbreaking knowing that such a clearly beloved character's voice won't be heard in the future. I'm glad he was able to fight cancer long enough to voice for Three Hopes though. From what I've heard, he was a strong, admirable soul.
Thank you, Billy.
May you rest in peace.
Re: Random: Is This Cryptic Tweet A Hint At New Zelda Remakes?
It's kinda scary that something so insignificant from not even Nintendo themselves can gain some much interest and so many comments.
If it's just for fun then I suppose it's okay.
Personally, I'd kill for a new Switch game with Wind Waker's style.
When's the last time 'Toon' Link got any love?

Re: Nintendo Introduces The Protagonists Of Xenoblade Chronicles 3
@RR529
What's embarrassing is knowing some people here can't imagine playing a video game in public because breasts exist.
Sounds shallow to me. But then I prefer playing docked anyways.
Re: Nintendo Introduces The Protagonists Of Xenoblade Chronicles 3
People complain about XC2's designs being too weird, fantastical, impractical other whatever.
Then XC3's designs become more normal and people complain that they look too generic. You really and truly can't please everyone, can you?
And yes, the artist is the same as XC2's.
I want to remind you all that this is the series that started with sexy machine people, then sexy (yet hideous) alien people, then sexy almost-humans.
It looks like we'll get more outfits anyways considering Noah has his black attire too. I'd rather wait a bit more before complaining about character design, but I think it's pretty cool so far.
Re: Poll: Do You Have An Issue With Xenoblade Chronicles' Accents?
As a Brit, I actually like hearing decent British accents in video games. We get American accents like 90% of the time and when we finally get something not-American people lose their minds.
Although, I don't think the first XC game had 'a variety of regional accents'. It's only XC2 that expanded on them. The voices in XC3 seem to be mostly the same by comparison.
Also, XC2 had really, really bad voice direction so I'm hoping XC3 gets a better one and I fully enjoy the English Dub. It seems like we won't have to hear Rex's voice this time so that's already a plus.
Re: Yoko Taro And Company Are Back With Voice Of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden
Wow, it's out this month? That's very soon.
Played the first one in December and loved it.
I really want to play this one too, but Triangle Strategy is out soon and I have other JRPGs to get around to. Still, the card designs look as beautiful as ever. I'll be sure to get into this once I have the time.
Re: Random: This Animal Crossing Movie Trailer Shows What Happens If You Anger Brewster
I tried making videos and scenes entirely in Animal Crossing.
But this is far beyond that. Can't imagine the insane amount of time and effort it would take to create videos like this. Some very short shots would take ages because you can only control the animal villagers so much. Bravo!
Re: Triangle Strategy Gets Its First Character & Story Trailer
@Purgatorium
In context, war broke out in their world between the three nations over salt and iron: The 'Saltiron War'. And it sounds like you may have to kill a key figure in nation that has the most salt to participate in the dark dealings.
I'm sure once you get to that part of the game the weight of the decision will be clear, lol.

Re: Bravely Default Producer Tells Fans To Look Forward To Next Year's Anniversary
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V Gets Day One Paid DLC And Digital Deluxe Edition
I can't believe so many people are defending Day 1 DLC. You're paying MORE for content that could've easily have been in the base game, or day 1 FREE DLC like the Safety mode. "Oh, but they're a BUSINESS! They're meant to take your money." That doesn't mean any and all business practices are perfectly acceptable. Wasn't really planning on buying this anytime soon but I feel bad for the fans that know of the DLC's worth and have a paywall for certain returning characters.
Only bright side is that Atlus does have some decent sales from time to time. DLC being on sale is something I like to see.
Re: "Dreams Come True": Chris Pratt Talks About His New Role As Super Mario
Do you know how long it took me to scroll down here? lol
Anyways, I just want a GOOD Mario movie.
Pfft.
Re: Feature: How Accessible Are Zelda, Pokémon And Animal Crossing For Blind Gamers?
Re: Bravely Default Producer Keen To Continue Series But Admits A New Entry Might Take A While
Ugh, I hate it when they say the sequel "could even be a smartphone release".
